This is a 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV project car. I bought it over a decade ago with the intent of building it into a race car. It came with the roll bar and a set of plexi side windows. When I first got the car I replaced the outer rockers. The floors are solid. As is evident in the photos, there is no trunk floor or spare tire well. The front lower valance and rear taillight panels will need to be replaced (these are available from suppliers like Classic Alfa in the UK). It has its 2 liter motor with re-buildable head but no intake or exhaust. Also present are the 5 speed trani and differential. The true mileage is unknown. The car is located in Pompano Beach, Florida and you are welcome to stop by and check it out. I do have more parts available, depending on your needs that I can sell to you separately. Here is an older Vega body shell that has been sitting in my storage lot in Arizona for the last 7 years, no motor,no transmission or rearend. Comes with a Bill of Sale Only, last photo is a Parts Car that is NOT included but can be offered up to winning bidder as a whole or for missing pieces for a little extra $. I had bought the Vega from a very well known wrecking yard and had it put away there when Car Craft was doing a story in town. They saw the little Vega and wrote up a one page about how cool they used to be. At that point, many people were calling them about it and a friend in New Mexico asked me why my car was in the magizine. Someone had removed my drivers door and steering gear box. A year later, I bought a Cosworth from a collector in Scottsdale and noticed my door in his shop. I got it back and will be switched in place of the other door that is not bolted on. The car is overall very solid but does have some rust, minor in the windshield channel, battery tray and some in a few other minor places. Its been a year since I last looked at it and have a brother who takes car of my lot. It has its vin and data tag but can't remember the exact year, so the year maybe a 71 or 72, it should be a 73 because it has the pop out quarter windows.Grill is broken, lower valance is missing in pieces and no interior except GT dash as shown. It has no rearend and has a set of rollers in place of the GT wheels shown in photos. They are available, just on another Vega we had brought in. If you want a rearend to make it a roller, we have a parts car that we can sell it to you for an extra $100.00, you take it off. If you would like to own an affordable sports car, that gets an INSANE amount of attention, day OR night, please look at this VERY cool vehicle I wish to part with. Way back in the Winter of 1980, I purchased this 1970 Opel GT. My goal was to take the looks of this vehicle, "to the max". All new bodywork is fiberglass. The paint is acrylic enamel with hardener, plus an additive called "Color Blender". The finished product looks nothing like an orange peel, rough factory finish. It was wet sanded and buffed, after the proper cure period. It looks like glass. The motor was completely rebuilt by C & R Cars, an Opel dealer in Connecticut. The Block was painted green. Engine has new pistons, a new mild cam, new larger intake and exhaust valves, a new Webber carb, a new four into one header, Ansa exhaust, new water pump, and a new ignition coil and wires. It has always ran flawless. Car pulls strongest between 80-90mph. Also, since everything was apart, the clutch and pressure plate were replaced. Wheels are Enkei, with Fulda Y2000 tires. Adjustable rate Koni shocks handle the suspension duties. Front and rear heavy duty sway bars keep the car nice and flat, for superb handling. The heavy starting battery was moved from the radiator area, to behind the passenger seat, for improved weight distribution. The car has been garaged for almost twenty years in a controlled environment, and NOT used. I changed the oil with a synthetic blend, and added fresh gas, with a small amount of Lucas "Upper Cylinder Lubricant". I removed the spark plugs and cranked the engine until the low oil pressure light went out. I repeated this for a second time. I put the plugs back in and started the engine. The wheel alignment appears to be perfect for all four wheels, as the tires show no wear at all for 5-7k miles. Five to seven thousand miles have been placed on this vehicle since rebuild. Odometer reads 36,712 Rack and pinion is perfect. The steering is 100% tight. The interior has NO musty or mouse smells, since it has been in a controlled environment. In fact, there is a fabric/upolstery smell inside. Rubber door seals were replaced during the rebuild phase, and the drivers door still to this day takes more force than normal to compress the rubber. Not used in Winter, as road salt destroys vehicles. Body has no rust. Clear title in hand. . . Car has the following known issues: Both front brake calipers are frozen. (autoatlanta.com has calipers for $36.52 ea.) Water pump is frozen. Headliner and door fabric need to be redone. Paint has small chips, and small flaws here and there. Only one Recaro drivers seat comes with vehicle. Passenger seat is in my Winter salt car. Does not come with a starting battery. Speedometer cable, or right angle drive is broken. Rear end has since day one made a slight humming sound. Never changed in pitch or loudness. Noticeable when on the highway, not around town. Drivers window cranks up slightly crooked. Starter solenoid needs replacing, as sometimes it clicks. Interior has plenty of head and leg room. Width is the issue. My Honda measures 51" at the shoulder. Opel is 47". This 2" per side difference is noticeable. Front spoiler is low to the ground. (6") Need to be careful around town. Tires look brand new, but are 20 years old. I'd guess they are fine for around town driving, but are they safe for high speed driving? Stick shift feels loose compared to my Honda. I've spent around 10k for everything here. This does not count the zillion hours I spent doing the body mods, plus the paint which I completely did myself. Looking for a reasonable offer, so this fab project can have a new home.
