1966 RESTORED Pontiac GP. I bought this car when I had my drivers permit. That was 1971. I was the 2nd owner. The title was transferred to my brother while I served in the military, then the title was transferred back to me when I returned home. So I am technically the 3rd owner but really the 2nd, because my brother did not use the car. I decided that I wanted her to be a show car, so in 1978 I decided to restore and modify her. With the help of my great friend who had a body shop, we started. Being he did not charge me labor, we could only work on her on the weekends. It took 17 years. Completed in 1995 and upgraded through the years. It now has a 400 c.i. 1969 GTO engine that has been rebuilt about 2004 with stainless steel valves. 350 H.P. Cloyes timing chain. Only driven to local shows and driven to exercise her. I have the original 389 engine and many other related parts to go along with her, including sheet metal. Also I have clear glass because the side windows are etched. There is also a rear windshield. It has aluminized exhaust with an H pipe. The exhaust manifold are ceramic coated. An Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor. This GP is semi-modified so many parts are powder coated, chromed and highly painted. Stainless steel hardware were used where ever possible. No rust on her, I undercoated all the panels. The under carriage is all painted and some parts powder coated. I even powder coated the exhaust pipes, but the heat is too hot for it and it is flaking off. It has the Pontiac 8 lug wheels. I have the original jack stand. The interior has 2 different options I have never seen on a 66 GP. Power vent windows and a rotating map light. It also has a tilt wheel and AM/FM radio with reverb and power antenna. The black plastic grills were taken off and replaced with stainless steel cross laced grills. Looks like a GTO grill. Every thing is working except, the blower motor, it is intermitted. It needs a heater core. I by-passed it because I usually do not drive the car in cold weather and do not want to take her apart to replace the blower, which I have a new one. The A/C was working when the blower did. It has R-12. The compressor was rebuilt when it was chromed. It may have leaked out, not sure. The passenger vent window makes motor noise but will not open. There is an AM/FM cassette in the glove box. Also has aftermarket oil pressure, water temperature, Olsmobile vaccum guage %26 1965 Pontiactachometer guage. Yellow top Optimum battery, dual master cylinder. Moving, so I have to sell 1 of 2 cars. The other car is a 67 Buick Riviera. I am keeping the GP or the Riviera.
