I am selling my Lincoln Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. I have owned it since Oct 7th 2012. I bought it in California where it spent its entire life until I brought it to Colorado. I bought it with 78,000 miles and now it has 87,000 miles.(I have receipts for the car dating back to the 90's supporting the miles are correct, the title says miles exempt) The miles are low for the year, but not so low one would be worried about putting miles on a mega low survivor car. I drove it from California to Colorado(which was 1265 mile trip) without one single issue. The car has never been driven in snow, I only take it to Lincoln meets and car shows in nice weather, the car is stored in a heated warehouse. I had it painted shortly after I bought it in the original Diamond Blue Moon dust metallic paint color. I also had pinstripes added to match how it would come from the factory, except it is vinyl pinstripes vs. hand painted pinstripes. The Paint is beautiful and almost completely chip or scratch free. The interior is nice with minimal fading on the seats nice a bright, the back seat was preserved with back window tint, I didn't like the window tint and I recently removed it myself and unfortunately it still has a sticky residue from the tint on the back window. The wood trim is very nice and the center arm console is near perfect . It has its original floor mats which are still very nice. The moon roof opens and closes just fine, the power seats work, the power door locks work and the power windows work, the miles to empty gauge works. The original radio is in the car and works, it is just disconnected from the antenna because I had a hidden modern stereo installed which sounds much better than a poor quality radio from the 70's. The car has the 400ci motor(one could not order the 460 in California in 1978) The 1978 400ci has 179hp vs. the 1979's 159hp. It has plenty of power and I have raced two 460 cars in our Lincoln club and one on the YouTube "diamond in the ruff video" and I out accelerated all 3 of them with my 400ci. The motor is smooth and powerful and the transmission shifts nice and smooth. My car has the moonroof and the cb radio and the umbrella. I have a like new leather toolkit and leather owners manual cover that may come with the car depending on the selling price. I have added NOS front parking/turn signal lights, not a scratch or chip in them, these were expensive. Also the chrome trim piece that goes along the front bumper filler piece is also NOS and nearly impossible to find, also very expensive. Here is what I have had done to the car since I have owned it: * New white wall tires with less than 5000 miles on them * New Paint and Pinstripes * Brake system bleed/flush *Power steering flush * New U-joint * New Idler Arm * New outer tie rod * New motorcraft spark plugs * New fuel filter * New Accell ignition wires * New MSD Distributor cap * New starter * New starter solenoid * New battery cables * New valve cover gasket * Wheel bearings re-packed * New Alignment(goes straight down the highway) The car has been so fun to own and drive, I have bought another Lincoln and now have too many cars and I need to downsize, that's why I'm selling it. Rare 1978 Lincoln Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition With NO RESERVE460 V8, 74k original miles. Rare Diamond Jubilee with Diamond Blue Moondust Metallic paint and Diamond Blue Landau Half-Vinyl Roof with matching padded trunk lid and Wedgewood Blue Luxury Broadlace interior. Priced at $20,529, the Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V's were the most luxurious and expensive to date by Lincoln in a production car. Options include silver/blue tinted glass power moonroof with sliding shade, color matched aluminum "turbine" wheels, color matched body trim, quarter windows that lower and raise before side windows, "Opera Lamps" on the side pillars accenting the oval opera window (looks great at night) and a simulated diamond chip over the letter "I" of "Diamond Jubilee" in the glass of the opera windows. Other premium options included digital "miles to empty" readout, tilt steering wheel, remote trunk release and auto lamp/auto dimming headlights. The a/c compressor turns on but doesn't blow cold. It starts up easy, shifts smoothly and the engine has a nice 460 V8 purr. It's developed a power steering leak, I add fluid as necessary. The tires will need replacing but hold air, the turbine wheels are in good shape. It's straight, never hit, doors close easily and the headlight doors even stay closed when the car is parked. The directional/brake/turn signal/headlights/brights work properly, as well as the wipers and horn. Aftermarket shaft style cassette player installed, the dash was not cut. The steering has a slight wander, I was told it needed a new "rag joint", $200 installed. A new set of tires would get you on the road, the rest can be done as you drive.Cosmetics: The interior is the car's strongest point, overall it's in nice, clean condition. The dash display, padded dashboard, headliner and visors are in excellent condition. The vinyl top was replaced as well as the vinyl on the trunk, seams on the roof are beginning to open and letters are missing from "Continental" on the trunk. The bumpers have no dents or rust but are dull, it has a tow hitch in the rear. The paint is original and faded with some small areas of corrosion in spots, the undercarriage, floors trunk and frame are solid as seen in the pix. It got the "Ziebart" rustproofing treatment when new so the floors and frame are solid. A good paint job would bring her back to her glory.
