Ive never seen a 109" with a configuration like this one. This truck began its life (as I understand it) in Spain as an emergency vehicle. The original color was yellow. The truck is very solid inside and out. The undercarriage, chassis, bulkhead, door bottoms are in great shape, as you can see from the photos. it gets 70mph on the top end. It has a very rare 8 cylinder motor. 5 speed manual transmission. High and low range gear works perfectly. The tires are in great contain. The interior is in great condition, no rips or tears or wear marks. The seat belts are in good condition. All gauges and lights work. In my opinion this truck is in really good condition and is an above average truck compared to other trucks out there. This is a truck that you can drive exactly like it is today...or you can take it to another level. But it is the perfect truck for its age and condition. Also the top is removable and it is a LEFT HAND drive.

California registered 1980 Land Rover Series 3 109. This very unique and original Australian 109 that was smogged and registered in California a year ago, however I have been unable to re-smog it, thus it DOES NOT come with a current passed smog test.This 109 will run smoothly on either petrol or LPG and has a switch to toggle back and forth between fuel tanks. In the last month I have gone through and replaced all of the fluids, re-built the rear passenger wheel hub, and installed a new gutter kit, as well as an electronic fuel pump. I also gave the ol Aussie a fresh garage paint job. Honestly the paint looks presentable and my neighbors like it a lot more than the nato green. The paint will not win any beauty contests, but from a few feet it looks good and gets a lot of smiles and thumbs up. The highlights of this 109: *Virtually rust free. See the photos. It was in Western Australia until at least 2009 from what I can gather and it shows. There is no rot anywhere. Full frame off restoration with way too many parts to list.During the restoration the engine was upgraded to the highly desirable defender 1989 200Tdi that increases the horsepower from the original 51HP to 111HP. This Landie now has the power to break 60mph, although the gearing limits highway speed to around 63mph max with the current final drive ratio. We're getting around 25mpg with mixed city and highway driving. It drives perfectly. Runs like a diesel powered top and accelerates strong with no hesitation or lagging. Shifts well into all gears both in and out of overdrive. 2nd-3rd requires a slightly slower shift or a quick tap double clutch as is typical with this transmission. Brakes are strong and even with no noise. All lights (including back spot) work. Mechanically and cosmetically this is a 99.9% perfect Land Rover.The restoration was not intended to be an "off the assembly line" restoration, but it took the best engine and accessories and makes the nicest looking and driving series you will ever see. It gets an incredible amount of attention and admiration everywhere you go, both in Europe and the States.Mileage: 17,875 Kilometers or 11,107 Miles. We checked with the Netherlands DMV when we purchased it to make sure there were no mileage discrepancies or "rollovers". I'm sure if you are looking at this vehicle, that you have a pretty good idea why you are looking. I'm not going to go into the details of how great these cars are. For sale is a 1972 Series III that was made to look a bit like a Defender. The only things that were really changed were: the hood (from 1994 Defender 90). Otherwise it is all original. The car has had a lot of mechanical work done on it over the past years. Everything was changed to make it a better running car, including brand new shocks, $2000 brake job that included brand new shoes, master cylinder, slave cylinder and other parts required, clutch and a lot more work. All done by a reputable Land Rover shop in the Bay Area that only works on Land Rover's! There are still a few minor things that should ideally be done, and I have all the parts to get it done, that I'll provide with the sale of the car (primarily all cosmetic). The metal top comes off and it becomes a convertible and you can put a soft top on top of the roll cage that is already installed. Looks stunning without the top. I have a clear title in hand under my name. There is never a need for a SMOG, as the car is exempt. It is a 4 cylinder car that is powered by gasoline. This is not a diesel land rover.
