For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. The C5 generation of Corvette is often touted as being one of the best generations of Corvettes to come from the General. Using the body technology from the C4 in the form of the light weight ABS plastic matched with updated engineering for the engine and transmission this generation of Corvette was a serious contender against some of Europe%26acirc;??s finest. The new LS1 engine was a vast improvement over the LT1, sporting aluminum architecture and sequential multiport fuel injection the LS1 packed 345hp 350lbft of torque in a very light weight platform. Equipping that with a newly designed rear subframe that housed the transmission in the back of the vehicle the C5 Corvette was a nimble sports car with a near 50/50 weight ratio. This 1999 is a great example of the C5 Corvette wrapped up in a tasteful package. The engine and transmission have been left un altered minus the addition of a nice exhaust system and twin cartridge air intake. The interior was just redone in two tone leather and looks phenomenal. The heads up display in this vette is a great tool that allows you to keep your eyes on the road and whats going on under your feet. The current owner of this vette has done some subtle chrome upgrades to the rear fascia that give it a mild custom appearance. This Corvette also features the factory optional chrome five spoke aluminum wheels instead of the chunky %26acirc;??wagon wheels%26acirc;? that were standard on this vehicle. The convertible version of the C5 also came with additional frame strengthening to be able to perform just as well on the skid pad as its hard top brethren.
