For Sale is a 1970 365 GT 2+2 AKA Queen Mother 12 Cylinder 5 speed transmission, Chassis # 13471 This vehicle has had extensive reconditioning of entire engine and running gear during its life time by Pat Ottis and most recently by Greg Jones, It recently completed The Sun rally a 1,200 Mile rally out west, The vehicle is in excellent working condition with complete original tool kit and manuals.This vehicle is road worthy and a great driver, available to see in Florida (contact for more information if interested) Current owners write up, I got some background information about it from Ferrari Market Letter. In 1987, Dick McClure, a Ferrari collector from Stockton, CA, bought the car from Leonard Blaylock III of Houston. The car was rough and disassembled and the parts were in the trunk and interior. McClure restored it and rebuilt the engine over the next 6 years with the help of Patrick Ottis, one of the top Ferrari mechanics as I'm sure you know, and Geoff Ohland. He then showed it at Concorso Italiano and other venues and rallied it. I have about $70,000 of invoices from before I bought the car in 2010 from McClure, through Tom Shaugnessy. As I said in my prior email, I bought the Borranis from Tom. I also had him rebuild the brake booster and clutch and various other things and bought a tool roll and jack and roll ($7,500 and probably worth more now) from him. I also either bought an original owner’s manual from him or perhaps someone else. I enjoyed the car but didn't put very many miles on it, keeping it at my weekend house in Michigan near South Bend. I had my mechanic in La Porte, IN, Dorman Garage, install new correct carpets, including the trunk, a period correct radio (I think it's a Becker) that I bought from Europe and the headlight covers. I also had them change the AC compressor to a Japanese one which works much better, but the old York compressor comes with the car.Because I had some difficulty shifting, I sent the car to my friend Greg Jones in FL, another top Ferrari mechanic and also one of the top judges, who rebuilt the transmission and corrected a problem with the clutch cable - the car now shifts beautifully; better than my 330 GTC. The reason I'm selling the 365 is that I don't need two V-12 cars, although I'm thinking about getting a Dino as I mentioned. Greg also put in correct door and trunk rubber and repaired the gauges so all of them work. He also fixed the clock! He also put in a new exhaust system and correct hangers. When I decided to use the car on the GTTSR, I had him source and install a rebuilt radiator. The car didn't overheat at all, even when he was testing it in Florida. I also had Greg handle getting Classiche certification from Ferrari. When inspecting and adjusting the valves noticed the cams that had been recondition many years ago where not holding up. We decided to install new megacycle cam shafts and rocker arm bushing, pins and rollers, as well as ball type tappet screws. When Greg was doing that, he also painted the cam covers and air cleaner with the correct crackle finish.I sent the car back to Greg after the rally. He replaced the windshield (I picked up a chip from that one stretch of the rally that had gravel), cleaned the car inside and out, including the wheels, fixed the ignition switch (you’ll recall that I broke the key on the first day of the rally) and tightened everything down. And as well as fresh oil change.In summary, the engine and transmission of this car and many other systems were rebuilt by two of the top Ferrari guys in the U.S. (Wayne Obry knows them both), it has a lot of new and correct equipment including the carpet, tires and camshafts, it has tools and a jack and I have all of the service records going back to 1987. And everything on it worked and performed flawlessly at high speed over 1,200 miles.

If you're looking for a solid classic that's stylish, powerful and has a lot of history, who says you have to buy a cramped, high maintenance muscle car? This awesome Galaxie will look just as cool rolling down the road, turn just as many heads at the local drive-in and, thanks to its thorough rebuild, provide many miles of carefree cruising! BODYWORK/TRIM For 1963, the Galaxie line featured a sculpted profile that was designed to make the car more competitive at the track. Not only did this newfound aerodynamic prowess allow Ford racers more success, it also gave production units a more substantial appearance. This drop-top's substantial aesthetics began with all-original sheetmetal that was stripped bare, mounted to a large rotisserie and thoroughly worked by Michael's Auto Restoration of Winter Haven, Florida. Three years later, when that sheetmetal displayed excellent alignment, correct Chestnut Metallic lacquer was buffed to a buttery, show worthy shine. When the buffers stopped, that clean single-stage was fitted with tinted glass, topped with a power-operated roof and decked in original trim that had been stripped, polished and anodized by Extreme Metal Works of Debary, Florida. And, in the summer of 2014, this high quality full-size rolled out as a timeless trophy chaser that delights both on the road and at the show! ENGINE Befitting the Galaxie 500 XL's origins as Ford's first full-size muscle machine, this flashy convertible draws its motivation from a rare, 405 horsepower version of Ford's big-bore FE V8. Wearing a correct C3AE-6015-V casting number, the 406 cubic inch block is dominated by a finned aluminum air cleaner and big Holley carburetors, which are wedded to a correct aluminum intake and clean stainless fluid lines. At the front of that intake, a traditional points distributor sequences spark through eight high quality Belden plug wires. At the sides of that distributor, gold, "THUNDERBIRD" stamped valve covers hang correct 406 decals above restored, header-style exhaust manifolds. Cooling is provided by a shrouded and tanked radiator, which cycles water through pliable FoMoCo hoses and a combination of old school screw and tower clamps. And, aesthetically, the car's glossy engine bay looks good enough to show off to anyone, with a subdued block perfectly centered in high quality ancillary hardware that includes correct horns, a rebuilt generator and a large Autolite Sta-Ful battery. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION At the bottom of this vintage drop-top, solid floors back a beefy frame that was stripped all the way to bare metal during the car's detailed restoration. The muscular 406's power is transmitted rearward through a correct Borg Warner T-10 that, with the flick of a wrist, transforms a would be boulevard cruiser into a drag strip battle ship. Behind that gearbox, a large-diameter driveshaft spins a buff Ford 9-inch, which, thanks to correct 3.50 gears, is ready to supply its new owner with years of hard launches. At the front of the car, old school manual steering mixes surprisingly tight turns with modern, responsive feedback. At the center of the car, a free-flowing, true-dual exhaust system gives the big engine deep vocals. And at the corners of the car, power-assisted drums ride behind traditional steelies, fresh stainless center caps and meaty 225/75R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewalls. In a nod to the hobby's old school hot rodding roots, the best cars are usually topped with a stripped down, all business body that emphasizes their purpose-built, high performance nature. So, when you craft a first class offering like this sweet '37 Ford, the best thing to do is let its original curves do the talking and simply enhance what's already there. Our enhancements begin with flowing fiberglass fenders, which center a chrome grille between chrome-trimmed combination headlamps. Behind that grille, a lightweight hood and hidden windshield wipers anchor clean glass between small mirrors and a retractable Rod Tops roof. Below that glass, shaved doors seal solid along smooth fiberglass running boards. Behind those boards, an electric decklid rides between Hagan 9-inch, flush-mount tail lamps. And overall, the car's clean build creates one cohesive classic that, despite significant customization, is both tasteful and easily recognized.
