Selling our 2000 Cadillac Deville with 152xxx miles. My parents bought this car back in 2005 at the Cadillac Dealership in Henderson, NC. It had 1 owner from Henderson before they bought it. They drove it until 2012 without any problems. They bought a new car & we bought this car from them. It's been in our family for a decade now & hasn't had any problems.
Recently due to the heat, it seems the car has a coolant leak that is causing a signal to come on about the engine overheating & the AC will cut off. When the AC is on, it works perfectly. We are looking to buy a new car, so this would be an issue you are welcome to have checked out - which is exactly why we dropped the price from $3,595 to $2,500 "as is".
**There is a product called Steel Seal formulated for the Cadillac head gaskets that will resolve this problem for a couple hundred dollars & it has a guarantee.
Here are all of the other issues that the car has right now:
-The left rear window will not go down
-The sensor "Check Engine" light is always on - we've had this checked & the mechanic says it's an electrical issue (not due to any other issue)
-The mechanic also told us that it will not shift into 5th gear without repair, but we've never driven it in 5th gear so it's not been a problem
-CD changer in the trunk doesn't work, but the radio in the front works
-The electronic gas measurement doesn't work, so we have kept track of how much gas we put in & how much we use - that does work
The engine & transmission are in great shape, along with the interior & exterior. We are looking for a more family friendly vehicle, so it's time for us to say Adeu to this wonderful car!
