For sale is a 97 Chevy Cavalier for repair or parts. I am almost positive the problem with it is the anti theft system, car turns over just wont start, its not getting gas or spark. The car ran perfect until last winter I got stuck in the snow & my girlfriend pushed me out with her van & then the anti theft light came on & the next day it would not start. The car has a lot of miles on it about 224000 but it still ran & drove perfect & never had a problem starting or driving until that. If someone knows about electrical car problems they could probably fix it no problem, possibly bypass the anti theft system or reset it. The only other thing it could be is maybe the ignition or even a bad ground wire, I honestly do not know much about cars. I know almost nothing about fixing vehicles & if I did I'd probably be driving it right now. The only other problems with the car at all except for some cosmetics & the muffler. The muffler fell off & I had a friend weld it back on but it fell off again but I do have it attached again but it was a little loud & the drivers wiper fell off. It has no radio/cd player, I sold my stereo system. No other problems with it. It ran & drove perfect, good gas mileage. This 1997 Chevy Cavalier is in fair condition. It still runs good, despite some wear and tear. It would make a good first car for a first time driver. It has a few issues that will need to be addressed. It has a small transmission leak. It also has no muffler. The exhaust pipe is securely attached. It has no radio as I replaced the original with a detachable radio I plan on keeping. The AC does not work as well. The interior and exterior are both in overall fair condition. There is some rust around the rear driver's and passenger's tires. The driver's seat has a nice big tear, but other than that, the interior is in decent condition. I am asking for $700. Cash only. Price Reduced - 10% Off Asking Price - Happy Holidays!!! Great Car. Many new parts and upgrades on the past year. I believe in being an honest seller, as you can see in my feedback score. So, here are the good and bad points with this car. This car has been gone over thoroughly and I have upgraded or repaired any items that were worn or damaged, other than cosmetic flaws in the paint and interior. Interior is worn as shown in pics. The driver seat is a little worse for wear and has some tears (not very clear in camera angle). The rear seat has a wear mark about the size of a silver dollar. The passenger seat is in good shape, but the side cover and recline latch handle is broken. Driver's side visor fabric torn. Heater fan switch only works on high speeds. Low speed doesn't work. Paint in descent condition with some fading on rear spoiler and bumper and some scratches here and there (mostly on the trunk and rear bumper). The side ground effects have cracked slightly where most of these cars did on the rear. Check Engine light is on for a "Phantom" MAP Sensor code. Sensor is new GM Delco. Car was parked for a few years with a bad clutch and code came on when I put the car back on the road (guessing that a rodent got to a wire somewhere). Does not affect drivability or performance. If you would like to have it scanned, there are several local parts stores that will do it for free. Car has just shy of 180,000 miles. The engine was replaced in 2000 at 117,000 miles with a low mileage engine under 30,000 miles. Car runs and drives great. Tracks straight with no pulling under acceleration and braking. Unfortunately, cruise control does not work. Inspected through 3/15. I have been using this car as my daily driver. I am the 1st & 2nd owner. Ex-wife bought the car new. Gets around 30 MPG. Title in hand. Notary nearby. Note: Pictures with the top down were taken before the top and seals were replaced. The pictures show the old wore out header seal.
