"Current owner ordered the car new from local Chevy Dealer on September 27, 1995 in Pennsylvania and took delivery on March 4, 1996. Owner has a lot of the original paperwork, window sticker and sales literature for the car. The car has 37,000 miles on it. 34,000 miles were put on the car in the first three years. The car is stored on a lift in a heated garage. The car has never been in an accident or had any paint work. The only things that have been replaced on the car are the tires and battery. Everything on the car is original. This is an unmolested original piece of GM History. The car is currently inspected and licensed. The car is only driven on nice days to exercise it. This car has never been abused. There is nothing to hide on this car. It drives as good as it did when it was new. The interior still has a leather smell. If you are looking for a low mileage, excellent condition SS, then this is the car for you!!"

Talk about an icon! The last of the rear-wheel-drive Impalas were genuine cult cars the day they hit the showrooms, and today they\'ve achieved what only a select minority of cars can claim: they were NEVER just used cars and have ALWAYS been worth at least as much as their original sticker price. The only other car to pull that off recently is the Ford GT supercar and maybe the Enzo Ferrari. This lovely Dark Cherry Impala SS is a very nicely preserved specimen that comes from the collection of a passionate owner (don\'t they all?) and shows an astounding 9985 original miles! Clearly treated to a life of privilege, the sleek 4-door sedan looks every bit as good now as it did more than 15 years ago when it hit the showrooms, and perhaps even better thanks to a decade of hand washing, polishing, buffing, and waxing. The Dark Cherry was one of three colors available in \'96, and arguably the most attractive. It definitely gives the big Imp a Q-ship rating, because nobody\'s going to see this one coming until it\'s too late, even with those giant 17-inch alloys. Fortunately, everything on this one is neatly preserved and in excellent condition, from the urethane bumpers to the slick body-colored \"Impala SS\" badges that subtly adorn the flanks. This sucker is NICE! Inside, the Impala got a nice upgrade over the standard Caprice in the form of gray leather buckets and a center console. Apparently, GM was using some high-grade leather back then, because it wears like iron and in this car, it has been carefully maintained and shows only the most minor comfort marks on the driver\'s chair. All the gauges are fully functional, and the Impala came only one way: loaded. A/C, cruise control, power windows and locks, and a powerful stereo were standard equipment, and it all works like new. In addition, this one sports dual power seats, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, which were part of the Preferred Equipment Group. The original carpets are the only part that might give away the car\'s age, but they have been protected with a set of matching gray mats. Pop the trunk and you\'ll find commodious storage that looks factory-fresh, complete with original spare tire and cargo net. The Imp\'s real claim to fame was a Corvette-derived LT1 V8, a version of which was also shared with taxi cabs and police cruisers, so it\'s powerful as well as virtually indestructible. And as a small-block Chevy, it\'s so easy to modify that finding an all-stock example like this is almost unheard-of. From the air filter to the exhaust system, this Imp is totally original, and that either means it\'s just waiting for you to get busy with the upgrades or take it to the show and blow them away with its preservation. Either way, the LT1 barks to life easily, idles smoothly, and it pulls like a freight train. The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is smooth and always seems to be ready to leap into action, and the suspension is an ideal combination of ride and handling thanks to expensive DeCarbon shocks that were original equipment. Iconic 5-spoke wheels were a big part of the Impala\'s look, and wear 255/50/17 Kumho radials that were installed only because the original BFGs were old, not worn out. The last of the rear-wheel-drive American performance sedans has no equal, and like when they were new, this incredible survivor won\'t be around for long. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835. Ad provided by OldCarOnline.com/cond>

1966 Chevrolet Impala American Classic - Full Financing Available to qualified buyers. - - The Chevrolet Impala is a full-size automobile built by the Chevrolet division of General Motors introduced for the 1958 model year. Deriving its name from the southern African antelope Chevrolet's most expensive passenger model through 1965 had become the best-selling automobile in the United States competing against the Ford Galaxie 500 and the Plymouth Fury when full-size models dominated the market. The Impala was distinguished for many years by its symmetrical triple taillights. The Caprice was introduced as a top-line Impala Sport Sedan for the 1965 model year becoming a separate series positioned above the Impala in 1966 which itself remained above the Bel Air and Biscayne. The Impala continued as Chevrolet's most popular full-size model through the mid-1980s. Between 1994 and 1996 Impala was revived as a muscular 5.7-liter V8–powered version of the Caprice Classic sedan. In 2000 the Impala was re-introduced again as a mainstream front-wheel drive full-size sedan - - Ed Cole Chevrolet's chief engineer in the late 1950s defined the Impala as a prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen. - - Totally redesigned in 1965 the Impala set an all-time industry annual sales record of more than 1 million units in the U.S. which has never been bettered. All new full-size Chevys eschewed the X frame for a full-width perimeter frame a new body which featured curved frame less side glass for pillar less models sharper angled windshield with newly reshaped vent windows and redesigned full-coil suspension. 1966 Impala SS Convertible - - In 1965 Chevrolet introduced the Impala Caprice exclusively as a four-door hardtop. Caprices received unique tufted upholstery wood grained accents on the dashboard and specialty pulls on the insides of the doors. This halo model also featured the spinner wheel covers from the Impala SS with the SS logo centers replaced by a Chevy bowtie emblem. The Super Sport's blackout rear trim strip below the triple taillights was also used with the Impala SS emblem deleted of course. The Caprice Custom was reintroduced as the Chevrolet Caprice in 1966 taking the top position in the full-size Chevrolet lineup. Engine choices included the inline six-cylinder as well as the famous Chevy small-block and big-block V8s. Automatic buyers were given the option of the newly introduced three-range Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission for the newly introduced Mark IV big-block engine displacing 396 cubic inches. The old 409-cubic-inch 6.7 L W engine was discontinued early in the 1965 model year so early-production '65s got the 409 as well as 1 10 of 1 percent had the 396 CID big-block. Moreover other later-built cars had the 396-cubic-inch 6.5 L as the big-block option with significant horsepower drawback. Two-range Powerglide as well as Synchro-Mesh 3- and 4-speed manual transmissions were available. As with previous years Impalas featured more chrome trim inside and out with pleated tufted upholstery and door panels. The Impala would be the #2-selling convertible in the U.S. in 1966 with 38000 sold; it was beaten by the Mustang by almost 2:1. - - 1966 Impala new 350 Summit engine. professionally rebuilt 700r trans. near new tires and 17 inch American Racing wheels NEW: side moldings bumpers weather stripping taillight lenses lower grill and other misc.
