This ’96 Impala SS was the closing year of the Impala Super Sport and it was the sole model having analog gauges rather than digital and a floor-mounted shifter in the center console linked to refined 4-speed automatic transmission. The only items replaced have been a seal on the cable going into the transmission and the windshield washer pump – both were replaced using NOS parts. For sale is my 1996 Impala SS. The car is in beautiful condition inside and out. I purchased this particular vehicle from its original owner. The car was located in Greenlawn, New York. The car was meticulously maintained and always garage kept. The vehicle has never been driven in the winter months through salt, sand, and or snow. The undercarriage and engine compartment are proof of that statement. The seats have no cracks or tears. No dents in the body panels. All glass minus the windshield is all factory installed glass. I have had some parts installed on the car and other things done as well which are as follows:-Eibach lowering springs. They bring the center of gravity a bit lower which help the handling substantially. -Bilstein shocks on all 4 corners. I read and researched a lot and made my decision based on my research. The bilstein a are the most expensive but worth every penny. The original decarbon shocks were still working but in my opion, they are junk!-New pads and rotors all around. New sway bar end links up front. New wheel bearings front and rear and rear axle seals as well. The car sat since 2009 and I just wanted to freshen them up a bit-I removed the mufflers and resonators and put in 2 stainless steel glass packs for some sound. It's not very loud but makes a nice rumble. I have the original exhaust parts just in case. -3C Fab rear upper/lower control arms made from cnc'd aluminum. If you are familiar with this body style, you will know the rear tires sit far forward on the wheel well. The lowers are extended 5/8 of an inch which corrects that issue (mostly cosmetic) and the uppers I went for the most expensive, fully adjustable to maintain correct opinion angle in the drive shaft. I also did all new urethane bushings. These bars also don't have the five of the cheap stamped steel oem bars. Helps the car handle much better. -Oil replaced with Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil and the rear end fluid was also done. -40% legal window tint. (Mass Law). Not dark at all. Just gives the vehicle a lil more attitude. The tires on this vehicle are from 2001. They are in excellent shape. This vehicle was never abused. I've had it on the lift and I've gone through it thoroughly. I have a folder from the original owner of all service records and slips from the dealer. I also have the tile in hand. I hate to sell but don't have time for it and I hate seeing it sit in my garage when someone could be enjoying it. I really need an other truck as well so trades also welcome. The 1996 Chevy Impala SS, vehicle code "WX3" is a collector car in its on right .....floor shifter , last of the Chevy big rwd sedan. Many people still loved the Chevy Impala so Chevy decided to take the Caprice and basically with some add on items and make the Impala SS from 1994-1996. The vehicle code was "WX3" for Impala SS...not just a plain old Caprice. Many people cloned their Caprice to look like a true Impala SS. Many people do not know that Chevy actually did make the Chevy Caprice SS, which is a Chevy Impala SS badged as a Chevy Caprice SS for markets outside the USA. The name plate above the Radio stated "Caprice SS" and not Impala SS. The side emblems in the back said Caprice SS. The interior was all the same as the Impala SS and the vehicle code for the Chevy Caprice SS is "WX8". Some Caprice SS were badged as " Collector's Edition ", in reference to the 1996 being the last year of production, with a name plate stating that above the radio, on the back side windows and on the back of the car by the taillights...as you can see in the pictures. WX8..... CAPRICE SS "EXPORT" CU7......Country Code "KUWAIT" Export. Up for sale is my 1996 Impala SS that has been completely upgraded from front to back. Nearly everything has been replaced and it is a complete animal! It made 840 horsepower at the rear tires before the nitrous kit was installed which adds another 75 horsepower to the wheels. This was limited because at anything past that point, the clutch began to slip. This is definitely a car you can take to shows and take it to the race track but this is also an amazing street car that cruises comfortably on the highway getting nearly 20 mpg in air conditioned comfort! Here goes 1996 impala SS my personal car since 2008 I purchased with 66,000 miles and it now sits at 177,000 on the odometer but motor has less that 20k miles on it I purchased a brand new engine from lkq and let the Chevy dealership install it the motor still has over two year no fault unlimited mileage warranty on it so no matter what happens even if it's negligence on your behalf it's still covered and the labor too transmission replaced around 50k miles ago by Chevy dealership too opti spark new, alternator new , starter new , plugs new ac delco platinum, new high performance blue wires, full synthetic oil since new engine, only 93 octane since I originally purrchased car, dual exhaust flow masters, basic Sony cd, light up Panasonic blue front door speakers, 6x9 diamond audio, alarm , k&n intake , car cpu is also new, rims are 22 inch old rims had since 2008 some curb rash and oxidation , 265 35 22 tires almost new , ac system replaced 2 years ago , cars runs like champ I drive 100 miles interstate round trip 5 times a week in it still to this day , now here's the down side I was rear ended by a Honda yeah I sad Honda but it did some real damage to the quarter panel on both sides the rear passenger door is pinched shut the trunk opens and closes but it's off track or something rear bumper will need to be replaced prior to the wreck I need the tires balanced and power sterling gearbox a tie end rod and an alignment and the tired balanced didn't have time frames not bent the dealership say damage is 4k worth but we know how they jack the price up , driver seat is shot from wear and it has a very bad gangster lean , check engine light been on since I had it from exhaust but doesn't effect anything tires are helium filled custom floor mats and dash mat and ac defrost grill all brakes are new and the dust cover are same color as car I'll get in it and drive from here Florida to California today with no hesitation feel free to call or text me any questions anytime 386-623-0254 WADE
