1970 Plymouth hemicuda 472ci Hemi engine, all new parts TREMEC 5 speed manual A/C, power steering and disc brakes Rotisserie restored and purple everywhere! LOADED with desirable options! Original Los Angeles-built car All receipts from build! Some cars are born stars. The right colors, the right engines, the right options. Theyre bought for big money and kept in vaults. We sell those, so were not knocking them one bit--theyre simply for a different purpose. This car wasnt one of the chosen: Sand Pebble Beige with black body protection strips, a 318 2bbl and shift on the column automatic, and a dark green bench seat interior...this was one ugly duckling! Just like in the story, though, this one became a beautiful swan, and its got HEMI power to boot! Start outside where youre looking at a very clean color change to one of Mopars best, In-Violet (or Plum Crazy for the Dodge folks,) code FC7. Of course, nothings going to grab your attention like that big hole in the hood. Sure, Ford put shakers on the Mustang, but only Chrysler would cut one big enough to double as an escape hatch for the engine! The hoods steel, too and not one of those flimsy fiberglass jobs. The grille up front has been masterfully restored and the road lights are excellent reproductions. Sliding down the sides youll find the brand new Hemi callout stripes on the massaged sides. New door handles, a new antenna and buffed and polished window trim enhance the very purple scheme from nose to tail. The bumpers sport excellent chrome, while the dual mirrors went body color. The Go-Wing on the trunk, excellent taillights, a refinished tail panel and dual chrome exhaust tips stick out of the Cuda lower valance round out the rear view. New rallye wheels with BFGoodrich Radial T/As (235/60 front and 255/60/15 rear) tires finish off what would have been a dream order sheet! Inside, youll spend your time sitting on restored black buckets--theyre the most visible part of the new upholstery. Theres a new carpet and a new headliner, too. The door panels are excellent with excellent armrest pads, new window cranks, door handles, lock levers and new Cuda emblems. A restored wood grain rim-blow wheel feels great in your left hand while a new pistol grip four (make that five!) speed shifter occupies your right. The fully restored and operational rallye dash provides all the information you need about whats going on up front, and the correct 1970 pad itself is new and beautiful. Everything else from the pedal pads up is either new or restored! Underneath youll find a gaggle of new parts laid against bright purple floors. The dual exhaust is new from reproduction exhaust manifolds to chambered mufflers to exhaust tips. The hardlines have all been replaced, as has the fuel tank. The front suspensions brand new from the torsion bars out, and there are brand new disc brakes up front complementing the restored drums hanging off of the brand new DANA 60 rear out back. The show stopper is, of course, the big aluminum TREMEC 5 speed, which is both great to shift and great for cruising. Rest assured this car will take you where you need to go! Open the hood--there are new hood pins and lanyards, too. Thats not what youre looking at though, is it? Its the Hemi. Its ALWAYS the Hemi. Built up from a new Mopar block with all new internals the 472 stroker is mean and docile all at the same time. The massive Ben Snobar reproduction Shaker assembly hides a true dual carb setup mounted on the motors dual plane intake. A Mopar distributor and orange ignition box run the spark better than the factory stuff ever could. The aluminum water pump helps shave weight and heat. Power steering makes life easy as does the switch to disc brakes. Theres a new reproduction group 27 red top battery, new cables, a re-cored radiator, new hoses, new belts, neweverything! Mechanically this is a brand new car! Real Hemi Cudas are otherworldly expensive, and most arent very well sorted as they never go anywhere. This ones a ton more affordable, has 100% of the looks and presence, and is virtually new! The Mopar show season is just warming up--what are you planning on driving?
