Most of the heavy lifting around town was handled by trucks very much like this one, designed to carry immense loads at modest speeds over questionable terrain. And at that, the Ford F-series excelled. The fact that they were also handsome doesn't hurt, and today they remain perhaps the fastest-growing segment of the antique vehicle hobby. 1950 was the final year before a big makeover in 1951, offering the old-school grille with narrow-set headlights that looks great. The paint is a twist on of the old-fashioned look, black with bright red fenders, and it nevertheless looks right on the big rig's classic shape. Fit and finish is appropriate to an original heavy-duty truck, with doors that open and close easily, a hood that latches tight, and a very attention-grabbing overall look that makes people smile. There are plenty of signs of use and it isn't perfect, but you wouldn't want a truck that hasn't proven itself, right? The period dump bed is a neat feature and makes this truck practical today and remains fully functional. Put it to work or imagine the possibilities for hauling around your collector car on its back. Cool, right? The interior is nattily trimmed with a black vinyl bench seat and painted metal surfaces everywhere else. Remember, it was designed to work hard, not be pretty, but Ford stylists knew that good looks sold trucks just as well as they sold cars, so the instruments are in a stylish pod and keep an eye on all the vitals. The dash, doors, and other areas have all been painted to match the body, with proper cardboard headliner that gives it a very finished look. The contrast between the red control levers and black paint is pleasing and rakish, showing a bit of style that's right at home in the handsome truck. Manual steering and brakes are easy enough to manage, but this is still a big vehicle so it'll take some getting used to the commanding driving position. And brush-up on your shifting, since the 4-speed manual gearbox is heavy-duty and requires a firm hand on the shift lever. Remarkably, Ford's inline-six was offered alongside the flathead V8, and produces nearly as much power and more torque, which is probably why it was used in the giant F6. It's quite clean under the hood for such a workhorse and starts quickly with 12 volts spinning the starter. It wears proper Ford Red paint and a downdraft carburetor, and has been upgraded with a modern alternator for the electrical system. All the hydraulics for the dump bed are intact and functioning and a newer exhaust system has been fitted not too long ago. Shifting takes some practice, but you certainly won't hurt the big guy while you learn, and the brakes are remarkably effective given the truck's mass. Performance is leisurely, as you'd expect, but there's simply nothing you can't move with something like this.. The original wheels have been painted to match the fenders, and wear relatively new 8.25-20 heavy-duty truck tires. For business promotion, there are few better mediums, and if moving big stuff around is part of your daily routine, you'll probably enjoy it twice as much from behind the wheel of this F6. An awful lot of truck for not a lot of money. Original 1950 F5 1 1/2 Ton farm truck, restored 2009-2012. This truck was originally a North Carolina farm truck that I acquired in 2009. the old aftermarket steel bed was discarded and minor body repairs done before being painted 1950 Ford Palisade Green. It was converted to 12V with a new EZ wire harness and GM type one wire alternator installed. The entire brake system was replaced as well as the widow maker wheels. It sits on 6 8R19.5 tubeless wheels and tires. The Oak bed was completely hand made by myself from oak trees from my property, they were cut at a local sawmill, dried in my barn and then planed and finished by me. The wood has a natural stain finish with 8 coats marine grade spar varnish. The bed was completed in late 2011. In 2013 the 4 outer steel rims were replaced Alcoa Aluminum wheels. In the spring of 2014 a completely rebuilt Flathead was installed. Current motor has approx. 2500 miles on it. The truck has the original 4 speed spur transmission (needs to be double clutched) and the original 5.14 rear axle. The truck operates safely on secondary roads and will easily run comfortably at 50 MPH. This truck was featured on the cover of the Jan 2012 edition of True Blue Truck Magazine. This is not a 'show' truck but should be considered a 20 footer. $15,000.00

Still flathead powered, it's got that charming way of doing its thing that makes the flathead V8 and old trucks a great part of the old car hobby. Ford's F-1 pickups have been perennial best-sellers, even before they were known as the F150. One glance at this great-looking little pickup is all the reason you need for its success and the early post-war examples are the epitome of "old truck" fun. But this isn't some beat up old farm hand; no, it's got a lot of new components, including fiberglass front fenders and running boards, plus a bed that looks extremely fresh, all adding up to a quality little truck that has a great deal of charm. The green paint is a variation of the hunter green that almost every old pickup wore at some point in its life, but there's a bit of metallic in the finish that really lights it up. Factory trim, including the wonderful hood vents and nostrils, means it has an authentic old timey look and the wood stake sides on the bed, complete with Texaco markings, gives it an ideal 1950s flair. The light-colored wood bed, which appears to be maple, is a nice contrast to both the dark green paint and the usual honey-colored oak, giving this Ford another way to stand out in a crowd. Simple is good inside, where you'll find a freshened bench seat with a tan vinyl seat cover that's a nice contrast to the green paint. Aside from some aftermarket turn signals and a black leather wrapper on the steering wheel, it's quite authentic, although carpeted floor mats might have been a desirable upgrade back in the 1950s. The original gauges offer a pretty good summary of what the flathead V8 is doing up front and the dials themselves are unquestionably original, which is always welcome in a truck like this. The tan plastic in the center stack is remarkably well preserved (it may be reproduction) and that's where the optional AM radio might have lived, had this truck been so equipped. If you live someplace where it gets cool in the fall, then the under-dash heater will be a welcome addition, but beyond that it's no-frills fun all the way. You simply can't go wrong with a venerable Ford flathead V8. This is the most common 239 cubic inch version, which offers great performance and one of the best exhaust notes ever created. It's really nice done under the hood, with bright Ford Red paint on the engine itself, a recent carburetor, and even the original 6-volt generator making the electricity. The fuel system has been recently overhauled, including a fresh fuel tank and a new fuel pump, in addition to the aforementioned carburetor, so it runs well and doesn't seem to have "flathead fever" in the heat. Using a single exhaust pipe, it has a great V8 sound that's exactly right on a vintage pickup and despite its modest specifications, the truck feels quick and agile around town and doesn't mind cruising at 50 MPH. The 3-speed manual transmission shifts easily and doesn't get grumpy and the rear end looks to be out of a late-model, so it's undoubtedly got some highway-friendly gears inside. The wheels are late-model F150 pieces painted to match and carry 225/70/15 radials that look appropriate on the old truck. Flathead Fords have been popular for decades for very good reasons, and this truck delivers a motoring experience that's fun without the hard work. 1950 Ford F1, flathead 6 cyl, 4 speed, truck was in California and moved to new Mexico in the early 90's, motor was rebuilt in 1995, rear end was re-geared for drive ability on the highway. Truck is original except the bench seat and the rear bumper, the front grill is a 51-52, as far as I know everything else is original. No rust and no significant dents, minor dings in the paint. The wooden bed needs to be replaced. Other than that, the truck runs, drives and stops great, the tires are practically new. Ask any questions before bidding, the truck is in great condition for its age. It is a great driver and it turns heads anywhere it goes.

The Ford F-1 is arguably the best-looking post-war truck. While they all have a basic industrial attractiveness, this specimen is a cut-above because of its customizing. It starts with the aggressive lowered stance that is emphasized further by the great maroon paint. It's the perfect balance of looking fantastic, without setting off alarms that this is a non-driving trailer queen. After all, this pickup was built to enjoy. The front grille, which is often kept in chrome or white, matches the rest of the car body on this F-1. It gives the rest of the brightwork a chance to really standout in places like the detailed slats on the hood, bumpers, and the stylish Devino wheels. As expected with a custom truck like this, the bed has a real wood floor, and it looks brand new. We can't confirm that no one hauled something back here, but any duty this pickup has seen since its build has been done with great care. The interior is simply gorgeous with tan leather seats and comfy cloth inserts. This is a color scheme that matches the carpets and even coordinates with the wood on the custom Billet Specialties steering wheel. The exterior maroon paint is used on the door panels, and wraps onto the dashboard, to complete this color-coordinated hot rod. Everyone gets to enjoy the AM/FM/CD stereo, power windows, and provisions for air conditioning. But the driver gets the most fun. There's a nice floor-mounted shifter to rest your right hand. Plus, while you're enjoying the power steering with your left hand, there's a full set of VDO gauges to keep an eye on what's going on under the hood. One quick look in the engine bay, and you'll know that's not a Ford motor. It's not much of a worry that this blue oval has Chevy power because the 350 cubic-inch small-block V8 is one of the most versatile and upgradeable powerplants around. In fact, this one already has improvements bolted on, such as the Edelbrock performance air cleaner and matching valve covers. Beyond that is an Edelbrock intake, performance headers, and a sweet sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust. All this power is handled by a stout TH350 three-speed automatic transmission before being sent to a 10-bolt rear end. The final component that makes sure this whole package gets the most power to the road is a set of grippy BF Goodrich g-Force tires. Plus, when it comes time to stop, there are four-wheel disc brakes supported by Wilwood components. This is a truck that looks great and drives even better. It's a Ford pickup that attracts a lot of attention, but the enthusiast who will enjoy it most is the one sitting behind the wheel. OVER-DRIVE TRANSMISSIONRon & Keith Watson472 hwy 305Athens, TN 37303Call Us Today(423) 506-8987Ask Us A Question Vehicle DetailsYear: 1950Make: FordModel: OtherVIN: B0SP107092Mileage: 101795Transmission: ManualEngine: 8 Cylinder, 239 LExterior Color: RedInterior Color: TanTitle: Clear Description FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION we have for sale a super nice 1950 Ford convertible. The flat-head engine runs sweet, the red paint is nice, the tan interior shows no wear, clear glass, gleaming chrome, 3 on the tree shifting is good, over-drive transmission works, it drives and runs like a dreaM. 96 pictures blow, just scroll down to see them. HISTORY: This car was restored by my good friend Danny. He bought it at a car show just South of us in Cleveland, Tennessee. He is now in his 70s and has too many cars to enjoy and take care of. I have sold one and he has decided to keep his 40 Ford coupe and 1956 baby bird. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand. HOW IS THE PAINT? Very slick PPG concept paint. I see no dents or dings, I see 2 super tiny chips that are touched up. The car is very straight to look down the sides and the panel fit is good. Original paint can with code comes with the car. HOW IS THE CHROME? Bumpers, grill and emblems look new. All I see is a couple of scuffs on the trim on the windows that roll up. HOW IS THE GLASS? All I see is crytal clear glass. HOW IS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP? Looks new, it is power. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? No wear and it is clean, chrome trim nice, paint nice. HOW IS THE ENGINE? The flat head engine runs like it should. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? It shifts good and does not jump out of gear. The over-drive is working. CAR IS ORIGNAL 6 VOLTS, it has a 8 volt battery and the voltage regulator is adjusted for it. DO THE LIGHTS WORK? The only thing I see is the left turn signal flashes fast. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE AND STOP? To me it drives like new and stops real good. HOW IS THE UNDERSIDE? Frame is very solid, original under coating, I see a couple of welded in metal patchs and the bottom of the spare tire drum is ugly. The car has lots of the original under coating. To be honest Danny did a beautiful job on outside cosmetics, but the under side is ugly, but solid. He built it to keep and drive, not to jack up at a car show. If you want beutiful on the under side pay somebody to sand, bush and paint. THE ORGINIAL RADIO IS IN PLACE, it does not work. Car now has a nice JVC AM/FM CD player mounted under the dash. HOW LONG HAS THE CAR BEEN RESTORED? It looks like it was done a few months ago, but it has been near 15 years. To me this is better than a fresh job that covers things up. WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Here at my home/garage in Athens, Tennessee 37303. FORD CONVERTIBLE.....FLATHEAD V8... OVER-DRIVE TRANSMISSIONYear1950MakeFordModelOtherVINB0SP107092Mileage101795TransmissionManualEngine8 Cylinder, 239 LExterior ColorRedInterior ColorTanTitleClearFOR YOUR CONSIDERATION we have for sale a super nice 1950 Ford convertible. CONTACT INFORMATION: Ron Watson cell 423-506-8987 Please no Sunday calls! direct email: [email protected] BOTTOM LINE: This is a nice car and its priced good, look at other convertibles for sale that are this nice. I will not trade for anything, I reserve the right to stop this listing at any time. Thank you, Ron Watson This vehicle is not a new car! Its old and things have been changed over the years! Please come and inspect it for your self before you buy it. My standards may not be yours, I describe it as I see it, things like engine size are based on what I am told by the past owner and my visual inspection, I don't always look for casting numbers on engines, you may see it different, "come look if it makes a difference to you. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. My description is not an inspection, its just to give you feel for the car before you come inspect. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to buy based upon that judgement solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. I judge the car to my standard, this may not be yours. I discribe the car as I see it. Please come and look at the car, don't get a big suprise. BUYERS GUIDE! NO WARRANTY OFFERED INSPECTIONS: Inspections MUST be done before you hit the buy now button or make a deal. A $250 deposit is required by PayPal to hold the car, full payment must be made by bank wire transfer or cashiers check within 7 days. SHIPPING: You have to pay the shipping, but I can recommend a good company. A good company is Horizon Auto Shipping, the best contact with them is Jim Page. His telephone is 816-863-4299 and his email is: [email protected] SORRY: I do not do videos, I am 68 years old and sell my cars anyway, come look at it. SORRY: I do not show cars on Sunday, its a day to worship, a day to rest and a day to spend with my family. CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? I never recommend driving a Classic Car home on a long trip. Reason being, I only do short test drives like a garage would, the cars are inventory not my personal car I have owned for years and learned to trust. Fee and Tax Information: NO SALES TAX PAID UNLESS YOU LIVE IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE. No fees if any type, we are a father/son dealer operation and work out of my garage, we don't add ripe off fees like lots of big dealers that add on fees. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!This auction is a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. All vehicles are sold as-is unless otherwise specified. I have done my best to accurately describe this vehicle. It is up to the buyer to come see and further inspect the car before the end of the auction.-->

Offered for your consideration is this true "survivor" 1950 Ford Fordor Sedan in Hawthorne green. This car is currently being cherished by it's 2nd owner and has just over 78k original miles. Always garaged, and used mostly for parades, shows and the occasional joy-ride, this Sedan is still in exceptional, mostly original condition. The car sports one repaint in the original Hawthorne green. The exterior was stripped, zinced and then repainted. The undercarriage, engine bay, trunk area and interior are all original. All external chrome pieces were removed and sent to Canada for a professional, show-quality re-chrome. The vehicle has minor flaws here and there, and the interior certainly needs to be reupholstered to be perfect. That being said, this car runs and drives fantastic for a 65 year old automobile, and gets attention everywhere that its driven. Thanks to Gary for decoding the VIN and cowl codes. They are as follows: VIN: H0BF144758 H is 6-cyl 0 (it's a zero) for 1950 model year BF is Buffalo, NY assembly plant 144758 Ford started each plant off at 100001 each year. So ignoring the first 1, this car was the 44,758th produced in that plant that year. CODES: BF 73B E D 16F 1924 BF is the Buffalo plant 73B is Custom Fordor sedan E is paint code for Hawthorne Green D is interior code for Broadcloth Gray Stripe 16 is assembly day of the month F is assembly month June 1924 is a production code assigned by Ford. Even the gurus disagree on how to decode this. The purchase of this car will include many extra parts and accessories, including: a pair of front windshield glasses, new chrome door handles, new chrome trunk hinges, new emblems front and rear, a visor that mounts above the windshields, and many other items, original and aftermarket. Obviously, this car is being sold as is and all sales are final. For a 65 year old car, this is in amazing condition and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this vehicle. I encourage prospective buyers to ask any questions, request specific or additional pics or come and view the car in person. Thank you for viewing my listing!

The interior continues the look with a hodgepodge of pieces that completes the look of this Voodoo truck. Wide white wall tires are also added to complete the vehicle. A 2003 Dearborn award winner (which means at least 950 out of 1000 points), this is perhaps the nicest early Ford hauler we've ever featured. The handsome dark blue paint is every bit as shiny and lustrous as it appears in photos, and the past ten years have not really done much to diminish its quality. The investment in getting this truck to this level had to be significant, even in 2003 dollars, and the care it has obviously received in the intervening years means that it could still grab some trophies today. Panel fit is quite likely better than new, with doors that close easily and don't have that cheap sound that beat-up pickups always seem to demonstrate, and the big clamshell hood fits evenly along the fenders. Black painted running boards offer bright cast aluminum step plates that go well with the pickup's relatively upscale look, although the painted bumpers keep it from going overboard. Beautiful chrome and stainless on the grille and hood trim makes this truck easy to identify at a glance, and the bed is nicely restored with lovely wood and painted rub strips that match the bodywork. Trucks were meant to put in a long day's work but when the interior is this inviting, you might never want the day to end. The tan vinyl on the original bench seat really warms up the look and contrasts beautifully with the dark blue paint. Correct cardboard headliner panels and painted doors maintain the factory look and the oversized steering wheel makes this pickup feel nimble around town. The factory gauges are neatly refinished and the center stack offers matching tan plastic, which was notoriously fragile in its original form. There's an accessory heater under the dash and it remains fully functional, so the truck is pleasant to drive even on cool autumn days. The 239 cubic inch flathead V8 is a big part of why this truck is such a joy to drive. Starting with a touch of the button on the dash, it's completely dialed in and doesn't get "flathead fever" or any of the usual crankiness that afflicts neglected V8s. Instead, it purrs to life with a familiar starter sound and idles so smoothly you'll quickly forget this is a pickup truck. It's brightly finished in Ford Red paint, which is correct for trucks, and it's topped by a correct 2-barrel carburetor and oil bath air cleaner. A 6-volt generator still makes the electricity and the familiar twin radiator pipes are properly secured with OEM style clamps. The 3-speed manual transmission shifts easily with the column-mounted shifter and control efforts are quite light, so this truck doesn't need a lot of muscle to maneuver. 4-wheel drum brakes are effective given the truck's size and performance capabilities, and the smart-running flathead is content to motor along all day at 50 MPH. A glance underneath will reveal why this truck was so decorated in competition and with Firestone wide whites, trim rings, and hubcaps, the truck has an old-fashioned look that suits it well. They don't come much nicer than this and we'll wager that in a few short years, this price is going to seem like a bargain.
