Very good condition (with minor exceptions), strong running motor and trans. Being sold AS IS. ONE Owner vehicle. has been garage kept, and not driven for the last 5 years until I prepped it for sale. Comes wearing aftermarket rims with perelli tires with good tread. Also comes with ORIGINAL Reatta rims and tires with about 1/2 tread left on them. Pictured both. only have 3 reatta center caps. PLEASE VIEW ALL PICTURES. 26 year old cars are NOT perfect. This one is very good, in my opinion. Car is located in taylor, michigan. Bordering allen park at Ecorse and Pelham NEEDS I will have fixed at sale end so it can be driven away:rear brake line replaced. Diagnostic print out of error codes indicated on dash computer. Up for auction today we have a 1989 Buick Reatta 2dr coupe, it has a rebuilt 3.8 v6 with 500, miles on it, a rebuilt trans with about 2000, miles on it, the car has been well cared for all its life,the interior is in great shape, along with the outside of the car,the car does have 5 small dings on the roof and hood, i think it was from sticks falling out of trees.and a small paint blemish on the top of the trunk about the size of a quarter, a/c needs a can or two of Freon, other than that the car runs and drives great, and every thing works as it should. A wholly untouched survivor, it shows just 69,334 original miles and represents one of the last times GM took a risk. Built in the Lansing Craft Centre, formerly the home of the EV1 electric car, the Reatta was unlike anything else in GM showrooms in 1990. It was far more than just a shortened Riviera and offers surprisingly agile handling and impressive performance from the corporate 3.8 liter V6. The unique look has aged rather well, still looking contemporary and the years have made it seem familiar, so the wrap-around rear glass and short rear overhang look better today than when it was new. The color has the somewhat uninspiring name of "Driftwood," but it looks right on the upscale sportster and that's all-original paint still clinging to the bodywork. It has the typical GM orange peel, as well as a few bumps and bruises that come with being 25 years old, but there's nothing that we'd change because it looks all-of-a-piece and appropriate to the car's age. And with the growing popularity of unmolested original cars, it's always smarter to leave the nice ones alone. Tan was the only choice when you specified the Driftwood paint, and the handsome bucket seat interior is in excellent condition. Still focused on luxury, the leather seats are comfortable and supportive, showing minimal wear. The carpets are good, too, showing only some light soiling that should be easy to address, and the door panels are almost new. An all-new instrument panel with electro-luminescent gauges was introduced in 1990, and combined with the wrap-around console feeling of the cockpit, it looks very high-tech. The trouble-prone touch-screen panel was gone in 1990, replaced by conventional HVAC controls and the usual GM/Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo system that sounds great in the hushed Buick interior. Airbags were also standard equipment in 1990, as were matching floor mats, power windows and locks, cruise control, and just about every other comfort and convenience option GM could devise. There's a good bit of storage space behind the seats and the trunk is quite spacious, making the Reatta a superior road trip vehicle that's a little out of the ordinary. Buick's 3.8 liter OHV V6 engine is legendary for its durability and longevity, and you can expect years of service still to come from this one. It's great for low-end torque, so the Reatta feels quick around town, and fuel efficiency with the 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is impressive even today. It's very nicely kept under the hood with signs of regular maintenance, which remains inexpensive and easy, even with the cutting-edge (for 1990) distributorless ignition system. The suspension is fully independent and perfectly straddles the ride/handling compromise and this car makes for a wonderful daily driver. The underside is a little grimy, but otherwise clean and showing the results of living in a warm climate away from inclement weather. Bold 5-spoke wheels are in excellent condition and wear 215/65/15 blackwalls for a very un-Buick look. Complete with the original owner's manual (which was a big deal all by itself), this Reatta is an unusual footnote in GM history that still makes a big impact today. Up for sale is one Classic 1990 Buick Reatta 2 door coupe with a sunroof a 3.8lt v6 and a 4 speed auto trans with overdrive. It is red with a tan interior. It has the sunroof witch there were 8,515 Reatta's produced in 1990 and 2,312 were convertibles and only 10% of 6,203 had a sunroof option so about 620 cars produced that year. The Assembly at the Reatta Craft Centre was performed at a series of stations each with a specialized team of workers, rather than on a conventional assembly line. After a team had completed their portion of the assembly, the car would be moved by robots to the next station. Paintwork was performed on site under subcontract to PPG Industries. Buick Reatta was hand built in Lansing,MI in the Craft'e center and the total production for the 4 year run was only 21,751. This car was a Arizona car and has absolutely no rust. The Digital dash functions perfectly as dose the heater controls and all the lights also. All of the power buttons work as do the 16-way power leather seats.All models rode a 98.5-inch wheelbase, and shared an engine and interior design with the larger Buick Riviera. Styling cues included hidden headlamps and a bubbleback rear window. Sole powertrain was General Motors' 165-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 mated to a 4-speed OD automatic transmission. Four-wheel disc brakes with antilock control were standard. Reatta also inherited Riviera's electronic gauges and Electronic Control Center, which used a touch-sensitive display screen instead of conventional controls for climate, stereo, and other functions. Two options were available: sunroof and 16-way power driver's seat. Initially, cloth and leather interiors were offered, however only leather remained after the first season. Also added for 1989 was keyless entry. The Product Manual and order form listed the exterior/interior color choices. For example, a white car could be ordered with any of the four interior colors (tan, blue, grey or red). We have found a few “color over-ride” combinations. The best example is Bright Red 1990 cars with red (burgundy) interiors. This combination was not listed in the literature. This car has a tan and burgundy interior witch is also very rare. This car is a daily driver and i have put new tires, struts, bushings, fuses, new digital dash, new plugs, wires, vacuum lines, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel tank straps, brakes, rotors, sensors, speakers, stereo, intake gasket, air filters, fuel filter, oil filters and oil changes every three thousand miles. At every oil change the front end is inspected and greased. The trans was flushed and filter change by AAMCO recently. The car runs and drives amazing. I put and after market steering wheel with a quick connect and i have the original wheel still. I have a new digital dash spare, a whole new dash assembly and several other extra parts. The car needs to be painted and a few dents removed as the Arizona sun cooked the paint and several interior parts. The dash in the car is cracked and so are several of the interior molding panels from the sun. The sun roof dose not work and needs to be repaired the motor works great its the drive cable that needs replacing. The 16-way power seats work great and need to be redone as the sun cracked and broke the leather. The headlights work and the taillights work and the fog lights work as do the 3rd brake light and the signal lights but the headlight control switch needs to be replaced. This car has 1 keyless entry remote and 2 sets of ignition keys and 2 door keys. I also have the shop manual for the reatta from gm but i do not have the owners manual packet it was gone when i got the car originally. This is a great daily driver or collector car or full custom one of a kind it needs some cosmetic work but the mechanic's of the car are great. I am asking $3,300 B/O and i have a clean title ready to go. I am motivated seller but i will not give the car away the car is worth 2x's what i am asking in parts alone. 1 owner pristine California car always garaged and driven only by Elderly lady.For whatever particular reason,cars in the marketplace that are occasionally described as being nothing short of perfection annoy me ,but I now find myself in the disordered universe were to closely examine this Buick both inside and out you will not find one blemish.The original red paint is without a nick or chip that I can see is as lustrous as it was in 1990 because the original owner always kept it in a garage. And the gray leather bucket seats are in likewise condition. of my own reaction because my 1990 Buick Reatta pretty much fits this description. Frankly I have never either owned or seen a 24 year old car that appears so much like a new one as this one-even though it has 72000 miles. As far as I can determine,the mechanical operation of both the drive train and all the accessories ,including instrumentation,perform and operate commensurate with the remarkable condition and appearance of the car.
