It combines the features we enjoy such as a powerful and lively six-cylinder motor as well as a full interior. But it doesn't betray the sprightly nature that makes us fall in love on the backroads. Best of all, this turnkey smile machine is available at an exceptionally affordable price. We often see these drop tops in red, green, or white, so it's distinctively nice to see this Triumph in a regal shade of metallic blue. For many of us in the USA, the TR6 seems to be the one really built for us. The design was a continued evolution of the TR series, but now it had more muscular fender lines. Even the little details are aggressive such as bright trim ring around the wheels that are reminiscent of Chevy's rally package. But there was also not mistaking its heritage with a flat Kamm-back treatment that was also seen on the larger Triumphs of the day. There's a minimal amount of brightwork to keep these cars uncluttered, but this one has been updated to keep shiny parts looking their best. This includes a new front bumper, door handles, and luggage rack. The result is a car that looks great on the open road, and that's exactly where this car has spent most of its life. The interior is another hallmark of the great British roadster. With a real wood dashboard full of original Smiths gauges, it definitely has a hand-crafted European feel. Everything has a deep, dark appearance from the bucket seats to the three-spoke steering wheel to the gearshift boot. Because nothing is better than your favorite song on a road trip, this roadster has an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo system. And for those times when you get caught out in wet weather, there's a black vinyl folding roof underneath the matching boot. British roadsters are often known for their fun on the road despite being typically underpowered. That's why the TR6 is so coveted. It's got a 2.5-liter inline-six back by dual Stromberg carburetors that doesn't suffer from this anemic reputation. In fact, this is one of the larger motors out of the iconic era of sprightly roadsters. In a car that weighs barely 2,500 lbs, it has quick acceleration and the power to keep pulling well into highway speeds. Part of this versatility comes from the control you get from the four-speed manual transmission. We have the maintenance records for this roadster, but all it takes is one look at the engine bay to understand the level of mechanical care. Take the long way home, and you'll instantly fall in love with the way the sport suspension handles in this lightweight roadster. And even when stopping, control is well in hand with front disc brakes and Coker redline tires. Second Owner Vehicle, Well maintained overall. ENGINE: 2.5L Inline 6 cylinder engine. Engine running at 100%, recent serviced and oil change. Starts at first try. Runs like a dream, Highway, City, just anywhere. Four Speed transmission, perfect condition, smooth and accurate shifting. Clutch at 90% life in very good working order. Engine runs at the perfect temperature, even with extreme hot weather. Only 20k miles on it after complete engine rebuilt in 1998. EXTERIOR: Brown paint in very decent conditions overall, normal wear with no rust. Chromed front/rear bumper. Original Triumph Rims, brand new Tires with 100% life, including spare. The floors are in excellent shape with no rust. Brakes in excellent order all around. Front disk brakes and rear drum brakes (Aprox. 90% life). Black Convertible top in very good conditions, no cracks including the transparent plastic windows. This car was repainted with the same original color in 1998, all quarter panels were replaced at this time with fiberglass panels and kept garaged since. Not driven in snow and very few times driven in the rain. INTERIOR: Original Triumph steering wheel, carpet, seats, switches etc. Brown vinyl Interior, brown carpet. Original Blaupunkt radio AM/FM system. Front seats and seat belts in good working condition. All switches and gauges working at 100%, no fault. BAD STUFF:The following things are nothing big but I feel it’s worth to mention them. The only bad things that I can honestly find in this super cool Triumph are the following; 1) A Couple of Small paint scratches as normal wear 2) small rust area in one of the corners inside the trunk compartment, easy fix (picture attached). 3) All four Shock Absorbers, another easy fix. 4) Right turn signal, for some reason is not working. 5) wipers are not working. 1970 Triumph TR6 in Royal Blue with Honey Tan Leather Interior, this beautiful sports car is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner, it runs and looks like a new car. I am a Dealer and purchased this car at auction where the story was the car was donated to the American Kidney Association by the Owners Widow. The car is in the Triumph Registry in 2004 it shows it having 49k Miles.. It showed 53,060 when I purchased it last month. The engine, transmission and rear end appear to have been recently rebuilt as well as the suspension front and rear and the brakes. The car Drives like new and shifts like new. I have had many of these cars and its rare to drive one as nice as this, the motor feels powerful and smooth and sounds great through the Monza Exhaust System, the Clutch engages correctly and the gear box shifts positive and smooth, feels fresh. The paint is very nice but has a few minor flaws that are hard to see in the photos but has no dings, dents or rust, I would guess the paint is a few years old. The Interior is like new as well as the Canvas Convertible Top with Zip Down Rear Window. The car has new Coco Mats, AM/FM Stereo Radio that looks like Old Style with I-pod and MP3 hook-up, Tourneau Cover, Rear Canvas Boot that matches the top, Upgraded Cooling System with Aluminum Radiator and shroud with Electric Fans that keep her cool. I am in South Florida and I took her on a 30 mile ride on A1A in traffic on a 88 degree day and car was great and ran correctly. The Firestone Tires are also new. Mint wheels and trim rings. The glass is perfect with no chips or scratches. The Gauges all work, every light works even the glove box, interior and trunk light. The chrome bumpers and trim on this car are mint. It comes with another Convertible top that is new and is in the original vinyl material, and also the original vinyl boot. The car has 2 sets of Keys and the Factory Manual in the glove box. There are a few nice TR6's for sale but very few early year cars, and especially in this totally restored condition that needs Nothing and in what I feel is one the nicest Color Combo's......This is a special car ready to be Driven and Enjoyed!!
