I have always had convertibles, both old and new, but never have had a car that is this much fun. Let me introduce you to "Lucy Lou." I bought this magnificent classic car in July of 2016, and I am the third owner. The first owner was in New Orleans, and the second owner was in Tampa, Florida. The second owner did not drive it, and only showed her at car shows. It has never been up North and has no rust. She has never failed to start. When I first bought her and took her to a mechanic, he indicated that she was in excellent shape. I took her to a local classic car show 2 weeks ago in Webster, Florida and she won the Tom Cushman's People's Choice Award. Everyone loves her! Also, comes with a car cover and 2 mud guards, a box of various bits and pieces, 2 repair operation manuals and a Triumph Spitfire Haynes restoration manual. I love this car. I drive it daily in town and around to The Villages in Florida. The only reason I am selling is because my husband recently had a triple bypass and it is now hard for him to get in and out of. I want to buy a car that we can have fun in together! The place where we live has a homeowner's association and each resident is only allowed 2 cars, so when I buy my next convertible then I would have to pay to store this one, as my husband also has a truck. Lucy Lou does not want to be stored, she wants to be DRIVEN! She runs like a dream. A blast to drive. Everywhere I go, I have folks stopping me to ask questions, as well as tell me all about a Spitfire that they have owned in the past. Either that, or they have a friend that owns one. Where did I get it? Is it for sale? Isn't it fun to drive! Or, how is it on gas? You name it, they have asked it. I have often come out from grocery shopping and found 2 or 3 men or women clustered about the car, marveling about it. Some even wanting me to raise the bonnet, so they can explain all about the engine and the inner workings of the car. When I stop at a stoplight, drivers roll their windows down to chat about my car. One even asked me to pull over to look inside at the engine, and then launched into a funny story about one that he owned when he was in college. It really is quite amazing! Ready to show or drive. She is a wonderful car and a total delight. You would be very lucky to own her. I will be very sad to part with her. NADA GUIDE shows this model with a high retail of $13,700. Hagerty.com shows the following values for this car: #1 Concours- $16,600 #2 Excellent- $11,700 #3 Good- $5800 We believe this vehicle falls in the "excellent" category, and is priced under value. What have I done (or know that has been done) to the car? New paint job with original paint color “Tahiti Blue” New interior New top New front windshieldNew dash coverNew starter New pump for windshield wiper water Replaced rocket cover gasket Gas tank indicator Rebuilt door handle mechanisms New accelerator cable Radiator heat shields New classic side mirrors Dual carbs have been replaced with Weber carb New tonneau cover was made and screws were changed from plastic to stainless on the soft top hood cover. The new tonneau cover now snaps right on the hood cover, so the hood cover can still be in place. This is perfect if you are shopping and want to protect the inside from either prying eyes or rain Bid NOW to buy this piece of history. I want someone to own her that will love her and baby her as much as I do!
