I have over 100 high resolution DSLR photos and a clean Carfax available via email upon request. Exterior: As you can see from the photos, this is a beautiful car. Basalt Black is a fantastic color, black with gold metallic flakes that make the color shift depending on lighting. It is an extra cost option and much more attractive than the standard black. Freshly detailed with a professional clay bar, polish, and wax, the paint is very deep with a great shine. No dents, no signs of paintwork like mask lines, mismatches, and flaws. Very few rock chips, and those that are present are very slight. The soft top shows only minor wear, top operation is excellent and it still seals very well. No haze on the headlights as you will frequently see on newer Porsches. The Tech Art wheels are a nice cosmetic upgrade over the usual boring Porsche wheels and in excellent condition, with their gray finish providing a nice contrast to the black exterior. Overall it is a fantastic looking Boxster S. Interior: Similarly very nice. The full leather interior takes the 987 to an entirely different level, having leather on every surface feels rich and luxurious. Natural Brown is a very rich and warm color that isn’t fully captured in pictures, much more attractive than the more common Sand Beige tan interior. The sport seats are a rare and fantastic option, far more comfortable than the standard seats and much more supportive. The leather interior and seats are nearly perfect, no sun damage, stains, or tears. Carpet is perfect, and protected by a pair of brand new Porsche mats in matching Natural Brown. This is one of the most heavily loaded 987s that I have seen with a sticker price of almost $70,000 new, features include navigation, Bose audio, sport seats, heated seats, Sport Chrono, power mirrors, self-dimming mirrors, and rain sensing wipers. Everything works as it should. With the top down this Boxster is equipped with the windstop that effectively reduces wind noise. Overall very nice inside, you’ll be hard pressed to find another this well optioned. Mechanical: As you would expect, a car this clean has been very well taken care of. Absolutely zero mechanical issues, it is a fantastic driving car. The steering is sharp and pure, with no vibration or pulling at highway speeds. Brakes are strong with a nice firm pedal, no vibration or pulsing when stopping. The PASM adaptive suspension is fantastic, giving you a smooth ride on rough roads and a nice firm sports car ride when the road gets twisty. No suspension issues like clunks or vibration, and a visual inspection of the bushings found no torn boots or leaking grease. The transmission shifts well with no grinding or popping out of gear, I believe it has a short shifter installed but I am unsure of make. Clutch is smooth and light, engaging early in the pedal release as it should. Tires are greater than 50% tread, approximately 7/32 front and 6/32 rear. Sport mode engages as it should and definitely enhances the driving experience, greatly improving the responsiveness and capability of the car. Finally the engine is strong and responsive, as you would expect from a Porsche. No warning lights, smoke, or leaks anywhere. The Fabspeed muffler is how they should sound from the factory, mellow around town with a fantastic howl under heavy acceleration. Wiper blades are newer Bosch Icon. Maintenance reports from Carfax show a strong maintenance history of Porsche dealership service. Recent service includes a tire balance, full major service including oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs, and serpentine belt, new front trunk struts, and a new cupholder. Simply put, this is a fantastic driving car that needs nothing and is fully up to date on service. Flaws: While I would rate this Boxster as being in excellent condition, no used car is perfect. Because most of my cars sell to out of state buyers, full disclosure is the only way that I do business. My expectation is that the car will be better than described when you arrive. I am an anal-retentive engineer, here are the flaws as I see them. Exterior: there are a few slight rock chips up front on the bumper cover and hood front half, all are small chips and the total number is far less than would be expected for the year, small scuff low on the side of the left front bumper, very light scratches on the rear spoiler that are almost invisible, several small chips on the left rear wheel. Interior: several light chips on the silver door handles, several light chips on the adjacent door handle trim, several light chips on the speaker covers adjacent to the door pull handle, several light chips on the power mirror trim, very light wear on the steering wheel and emergency brake leather, climate control rocker switches have been refinished and don’t have the indicator stickers. Overall the issues are very minor and significantly less than “average” for the year and mileage, it is a very nice car. Summary: Just in case you skipped to the end, this is a really exceptional car. Cosmetics are very nice, it has a number of rare and desirable options, mechanically it is fully up to date on maintenance, and it drives fantastic. A 987 Boxster S doesn’t get much better.
