356 Replica Speedster, Black with tan/black interior. 4 SPD close ratio transaxle w/ Scat shifter. The car was a gift a little over a year ago. When I received it, it had been sitting covered, in a garage for over a decade. Olsen's Air-cooled VW in Tampa went through the entire car bringing it back, mechanically, to its current condition. The following is what was done and replaced and I have done my best to list everything. I also have some papers from an extensive $4000 rebuild in 2002 just before it was parked in the garage. I'm not sure who made the car, possibly Intermeccania (Miami) or Innovative Street Machines (Plantation, FL), but again I don't know. Another member contacted me and believes that it's an older CMC and not the two I listed above. It is titled as a 1988 Speedster and I have the clean title in hand. Olsen's said that the engine was a 2100 Stroker and that's all I can tell you about it. If there are any questions I'll do my best to answer. What I can say is that EVERYONE turns and stares as you drive by. Kids, women and men alike, pretty cool. If I were going to make this my passion I would get it painted, replace the interior and get a new top. The current top and tonneau cover are pretty dry-rotted. One of the snaps is broken (pictured). There isn't an engine cover latch mechanism or rod to prop open the cover. All of the rubber pieces on the mirrors, door handles etc are dry-rotted (pictured).
