a strong running 944 S, 1 of 3000, and who knows how many exist till this day. has a new radiator, thermo fan switch, hoses, and fuel lines. previous owner did water pump and as well went through the cylinder head around 4.5 years ago, so motor has fresh compression. car has tasteful modifications, a german tuned Leinstung exhuast, welsmeister 250LB springs in the front, and reindexed torsion bars in the back. the 944 S is sitting on Carrera II's with bridgestones with roughly about 50-60% life left. brakes work beautifully. suspension is tight. Arctic white paint is original, and still shines, the paint is actually starting to fade after 28 years on the right front bumper next to the hood. now for the things that will need to some TLC as usual for anything coming on its 30 year mark: 1. tensioner pads (recommended, doesn't make any sounds, just something that eventually needs attention. (front & bottom plastic pieces) 2. valve cover gasket 3. power steering needs TLC, works flawlessly, just has tiny leak out of o-ring. 4. a/c; all components are in tact, just either needs a recharge with the new r134 adapters, and diagnose from there, out of 4 years of owning her, i've never used a/c, love the way this motor sounds :) 5. front right sway bar bushing needs replacement, i'd do all the bushings but, you can just replace that one and you'd be good to drive it for another 20 years, thats the only one that needs replacement. 6. and that tiny little piece of rust that unfortunately beginning to emerge, but as you can see in the photo's, it's not bad AT ALL, just needs some attention from new owner. 7. header panel could simply be removed and replaced, so i wouldn't even count that as an issue, it's an individual piece that could be detached. other than that, this 87 944 S drives straight as an arrow, pulls hard as it came out of the dealership and feels phenomenal for its age. let's put it this way.. when i was shopping for one of these machines, i was never able to find a perfect one, not even one that was relatively running right, either had shitty brakes, terrible suspension or a bad motor for around 3.5-4! this is a timeless machine, Porsches' first twin cam 944 to hit the market that saved Porsche. do some research before getting into one of these, but if you're an investor or someone that understands, you'll know this is an absolute joke of steal, you can't worried about how much you have to put into this, because the longevity and the history of these vehicles are eternal, and if invested in, you have that and more. and don't take that from me, that's just common sense. if you got any questions at all, please don't hesitate to drop me a line. cheers! car will come with original preserved steering wheel not the PP and Dino Hub.

For sale is a 1988 Porsche 944. The transmission is automatic and it is in need of a new water pump. The car runs and drives but is currently parked because it is need of water pump. I am a college student and do not have the resources or funds available to make this fix. I have had the car professionally diagnosed and the water pump is the only mechanical issue. The brake light is on on the dash, but that is for the rear brakes, as the front brakes were just replaced. Before the water pump went bad, the car drove like a charm. This car has new front brakes, a new alternator, new tires, a new AC compressor and condenser and an upgraded sound system. In the back are two 12 inch kicker comp subwoofers. This is a solid car and has been very reliable other than the water pump. The only things that do not work on this car are driver's exterior door handle, the passenger's electric side view mirror adjuster, the odometer and the fog lights. Currently the odometer reads 85,370 but it broke about two weeks before the water pump broke so the actual mileage is around 85,450. The body and interior of this car are solid aside from one scratch on the front drivers side of the car (visible in first photo), a cracked mirror under the passenger's sun visor and the back carpet, which needs to be either replaced or re-covered. This car has an upgraded exhaust as well as DVD player and cold AC. This would be a great car for someone who has the resources to fix it. Buyer is responsible for shipping.

Is that the hair bands of the 80's that I hear playing on the radio? Here is a rare and fun-to-drive 5-speed Black on Black Rare 2.5L DOHC 16 Valve Ventiler Porsche 944S. The 16V motor is a treat, and received a host of upgrades over the standard 944 – magnesium engine bits, different transmission, brakes, computers, suspension and a 190hp set these cars apart and slotted them nicely between the 944/924S and 944 Turbo. The Body seams straight and no major body damagePaint is nice and glossy The transmission shifts through all gears smoothlyand the clutch has a smooth engagement. Bilstein Yellow Struts on all 4 corners that are recent. There no knocks, tics, smoke or funny sounds coming from the engine and it starts up on the first try every time. The timing belt and rollers were just checked and they are fine. The car just had a new fuel pump installed and it is running great and also has a brand new battery. The vintage blaupunkt Cd player has an auxiliary plug but it is not wired up at the moment. The car has 4 nice aftermarket blaupunkt speakers. I was running the car with falken tires and 15" BBS wheels that can be seen in the pics but the car WILL be sold with the original phone dial wheels that are on dry rotted tires. They will need to be replaced. The rear seats are in great condition and the interior overall looks excellent for its age. The AC has never been checked but it is fully intact. The clutch shifts great but the car does have some chatter coming from the throw out bearing at idle but shifts great if you do not rush it. The problematic "power" sunroof has been converted to the 1983 fully manual style and works great! The heat could melt an ice cube and the brakes and suspension are super! The power windows work but the rear hatch is not opening properly with the button. I have never tried it with a key as mine does not match the lock in the trunk. The transmission fluid was just changed using swepco fluid and the front and rear brake pads were just done. The 944S has a crack in the windshield near the passenger side lower section but it never bothered my vision. The tires have good tread but have some dry rot Hood and hatch hold up shocks are badShift boot has a tear in it. The dash has a small crack down the center ( as they all do) This is the 7th porsche 944 I have owned but it is the first S car. This motor makes the 16 candles car that much more fun to drive especially with such a high rev limit and great gas mileage too! This is a 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo with original paint. It would be hard to replace this car. It has original tool kit and air pump, the sun roof cover/bag, and rear retractable storage cover which still functions. The leather seats look as if the car had ten thousand miles on it. Sun roof and windows all work perfectly and the clutch was replaced at 75,000 miles. Please take your time to look at all the pictures including the under carriage to see how clean and pristine this car is. I have not pressure cleaned the under carriage, this is how it was when I got the car and how it is now. I have put less than two thousand miles on this car. The water pump and timing belts were done at 83,000 miles. There are no leaks. This is not your average 1986 944 Turbo. There are no dents in the car just a couple of minor touchups. I am selling the car for the sole purpose of making room in my man cave. If the car doesn't sell I wont cry. I am a 56 year old Porsche car collector.
