1967 Plymouth GTX NOT a clone 440 Auto My father purchased the car in 1995. It was painted, bumpers rechromed, the motor was rebuilt, and the interior was reupholstered in the late 90s. There have been less the 2000 miles put on since. The car runs good and drives just doesnt get used. So its time to sell it. Car was last plated in 2000. I just replaced the gas tank and hoses, changed the oil, put in new antifreeze, squirted oil into each cylinder, and put a battery in it. The car starts up right away. The car was sold to us as numbers matching. I will get any pics you need to prove this. Just tell me where.

This very clean and solid 1967 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible has had the same owner for 19 years. Everything on this car has been gone through and made like new. There is zero rust on this car. It has the 360ci 390hp Magnum V8 “crate” with a Demon 4bbl carburetor, hooker headers, MSD electronic ignition, with less than 5k on the motor. The engine is paired up with a 727 Torque flight automatic transmission w/ 2,800 Hughes stall speed converter, a Dana 60 rear end with 3.73 gears and dual exhaust with Flow Master 40 series mufflers. All in all a very nice, hard to find Mopar convertible that you don’t see very often.

I have owned this GTX since the summer of 1988. It has been sitting in this condition for over 20 years in my garage. My original intentions were to build it for open road racing, it was being set up for a hemi and a Richmond 6-speed. This all took place in the late 80's into the early 90's. I decided that a charger would be a better car for that sort of racing so that is what I did instead. My intentions were then to put the GTX back to a more original type car. 20 years have gone by and I have not done anything with the GTX, so I have decided to sell it rather than let it sit another 20. The shell of the car was dipped at Redi-Strip in 1989 in Roselle Illinois. This was back in the day before AMD sheet metal was available so the car has all mopar sheet metal. The left fender is nos, left door shell nos, left 1/4 panel from desert valley, right fender desert valley, right door skin nos, right 1/4 panel nos. floors and rails are all original as well as back body panel. The core support was modified for a large aluminum radiator, it will need to be replaced, a clean original is included with the car. The trans crossmember was also modified and will need to be replaced, a new AMD part is also included with the car. A 4-speed tunnel is also included with the car, an AMD part as well. The GTX had a roll cage, it was cut out years ago. There are a few holes that will need to be patched from the roll cage. I have attached over 100 photos so they should tell the story pretty well. The motor mounts were removed from the crossmember in the car, a clean original is also included with the car. The photos show the parts that are included in the sale. The trunk finishpanel is a nos piece and in excellent condition(worth $1200.00 on it's own). Some of the side trim pieces are included as well as an nos left rear wheel molding. GTX side emblems are nos, rear seat emblem is original, door panel emblems are reproduction (very nice reproductions). The car has a Dana 60 with 3.54 gears. 15x8 and 15x10 steel wheels with hoosier street t.d.'s. Mopar extra heavy duty leaf springs, frame connectors, and some additional bracing in the torque-box area. The GTX was epoxy primed with PPG DP-40 then top coated with PPG k-200 primer. It has held up extremely well, the car is straight and would require minimal work to have it ready for paint. It was originally a 440 auto, I was going to make it a 440 4-speed. This would be a great car to resto-mod. Car is located in Spring Grove Illinois. Price $15,000.00 Please go to forbbodiesonly.com - for sale forums- B-body mopars for sale - page 4. Here you will find an additional 80 photos of every part of the GTX, if you have any questions about anything these photos should help. GTX has dash vin tag, no fender tag, no build sheet. vin # matches core support and 1/4 panel #'s.

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a beautifully restored 1970 Plymouth GTX. This GTX received a complete restoration in 2010 and has only been driven about 6,000 miles since and housed in a climate controlled garage. Coming out of the St. Louis plant, this is a factory 440 CI 4-speed car with \"Fresh Air Hood\" more commonly known as the Air Grabber! The Air Grabber was a vacuum operated hood scoop which could be opened and closed with a switch under the dash. In this case the Air Grabber is complete and fully functional. This car features its original 440 CID V8 which has been nicely upgraded to a Six-Pack set up. The Six-Pack is by far the most desirable setup for the 440; it features 3 2 barrel carburetors. This set up bumped the 440 from 375 HP to a healthy 390 HP. This particular example also features its original 4 speed manual transmission which makes this thing a blast to drive. Putting the power to the ground is an 8 3/4 rear end with Track Pak 3.54 gears. The car is finished in its correct FJ6 Sassy Grass Green with Longitudinal black stripes. With 440 graphics, period correct white letter tires, and hood pins, this car certainly screams 1970s muscle car. This is also a very well documented car and comes with the original broadcast sheet and fender tag. The interior is black vinyl with optional bucket seats. The original AM radio has been rebuilt to include FM stations. This beautiful GTX has been restored properly and to correct specifications. Please feel free to call us to discuss the car in greater detail. To view HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com. 2009: The car was totally restored to factory specs at the concourse level, and would go on to win Concourse Gold at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago later that year. This fine example of a "69 Plymouth GTX is a true numbers matching (original) drivetrain, as is shown in the pictures. The car comes with the original build sheet, which has been de-coded by MOPAR guru Galen Govier. It came from the factory with manual steering, manual brakes, 4speed, and Track Pak - she was built for speed! 2010: I bought the car on October 23, 2010. The paint was standing up nicely, and the engine compartment, trunk, and underside looked just as good. The motor had been totally rebuilt in 2009, and had approximately 750 miles on it. The interior was a different story. It was done nicely, but in my opinion was the weak spot on the car. It wouldn't be for long... 2011: Ken Mosier, and his crew at The Finer Details stripped the interior, and restored it to like new condition. It was treated to new foam and seat covers from Legendary Interiors, dash and arm rests re-covered by Just Dashes, new carpet, headliner, door cards, window cranks, package tray, and a new center console. A new windshield and back window were also installed. And while it was there, I had Ken's paint and body experts re-gap the the hood, fenders, trunk lid and doors to perfection. 2013: Due to a bad cam bearing I was forced to take the motor apart. I had the muscle car motor heads at AutoMotion (Bloomington, Il) rebuild the motor. Everything is new, with the exception of the crank, which had never been turned. The motor is all stock except: the addition of a stronger cam - Comp Cams (Part# 21-227-4), and electronic ignition, and stainless steel valves. The motor currently has about 500 miles on it. During this time, I added a Center Force II dual friction clutch, an Auto Meter tach, Auto Meter oil pressure gauge, and new radial tires. 2014: I just spent $1,000.00 on the exterior, getting it ready for a show. My finishing guy spent 4 days on the paint, chrome, and stainless, including a full clay bar, three different polishing levels, glaze, and wax. There are virtually no scratches on the clear coat. The paint looks like a sheet of glass. The car is show ready... 11/08 - added a picture of the fender tag. Kind of hard to make out, so I will give you the pertinent information:First Row E86 - 440 super commando motor rated @ 375 hp D21 - A833 4-speed manual transmission RS23L9G177204 - car line, body type, engine, model year, assembly plant, sequential number Second Row R6 - Roof Paint: Scorch Red R6 - Body Paint: Scorch Red P - Trim Grade: Premium 6 - Front Seat: Vinyl Buckets S - Interior: Pewter & Black A4 - Upper Door Frame Paint: Silver B27134468 - Scheduled Production Date, Vehicle Order Number Third Row A33 - Track Pak C16 - Woodgrain Console C55 - Bucket Seats M21 - Mouldings: Drip Rail M33 - Mouldings: Body Side R11 - Radio: Music Master AM Fourth Row V6W - Stripe: White Longitudinal Sport (is not currently on car) 26 - Radiator: 26" Width END - End of Fender Tag FYI...there has been a question about the stamping on the transmission. As far a I can tell it is an over stamp that was probably done at the plant. The bottom # PP83326480274 decodes like this: PP = Plant New Process883 = 883 4-speed2648 = Chrysler's 10,000 day calendar - Sunday October 27, 19680274 = Sequence number, the 247th unit built that day Check out maxwedge.com/articles/10k.php if you are curious. The # stamped over (instead of under as was usual) is the Vin#. Looking at the picture I can make out RS (a very faint 2) 3 L9G1772 (a very faint 0) 2 The Scheduled Production Date of the car according to Galen Govier's decode is Wednesday November 27, 1968. The dates are 1 month apart - within the usual 6 week timeline used for #s matching. Good question... My 1969 Plymouth GTX is a very nice quality piece that can be shown, as well as driven. As you can see in the pictures, the engine bay, trunk, and underside of this car are all highly detailed. Scorch Red is a striking color, and I always get lots of compliments on the rare Pewter interior. The car looks great, and runs strong. It is one of the very best '69 GTX's you will find. I Also have a lot of receipts, including the most important ones - the motor rebuild, transmission, and rear end. I encourage anyone who is interested in this car to come and see it for themselves. I will be happy to take you for a ride, and let you inspect it. Features: - Scorch Red Exterior- Rare Pewter Interior - Matching #s 440ci - 375 hp Super Commando Engine - Matching #s A833 4 Speed Manual with Hurst Shifter- Matching #s 3.54:1 Dana 60 Rear End - Magnum 500 Wheels- Manual Steering - Manual Brakes- Hood Stripe Delete Options: - A33 Track Pac - C16 Wood Grain Console- C55 Bucket Seats- R11 AM Radio
