Original Packard Clipper for sale. The motor in my truck needed to be rebuilt, which is unfortunately why I have to sell this cool car in such a good and hard to find condition. Has original 352 ci motor. Motor turns over and was attempting to fire the last time I worked on it. It also has very good compression and should run no problem. Glass is in good condition with the exception of a small crack in one window. Interior is in very good condition. The body is flawless. One rear quarter panel was remade by the high school shop class prior to my purchase. As far as I could see, the car has NO rust.It comes will all of the original chrome trim which is in near mint condition. Comes will all of the motor parts (pumps, starter, brackets...etc) and exterior parts (taillights, trim...etc). This would be a great project for someone looking to give a car that doesn't need intense or expensive TLC the makeover of their choice. Feel free to message with any questions.

Central Valley Classics Classic Restorations & Cars For Sale Fresno, California Helping people buy their dreams for over 20 years We are proud to offer this special vehicle for auction! GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING! 1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper 7 Passenger Touring VIN - 2151-3507 Original 356 ci. Inline 8 cyl. Engine Original 3 Speed Manual Transmission w/ Overdrive Electromatic Clutch Packard Blue Car Original upholstery & Carpet Rear Jump Seats Front & Rear Radios Factory Fog Lights Factory Back Up Lamp Body By Henney This is one of the nicer 47 Packard Custom Super Clipper's you'll find, very original and mechanically sound. If your looking for a Packard for your collection, this may be where the search ends The car was originally sold in Buffalo New York to a banker from Ohio as these weren't as easily found when they were new and he had 5 children. There is a pretty interesting narrative of the first owner history written by his son some years ago that goes with the car. There are also maintenance records from the original owner. The car was sold to several other owners including a former President of Packards International, who owned it in the 80's and 90's. He called me last year and we talked about this car. I was told it was repainted and chrome restored while he owned it and was featured on pages 184-189 in the book "Packard the Pride", as well as on the cover of several magazines. I was also told it was judged at a national Packard event 1989 and scored 96 points where it took first place in class. As far as the Body, it was repainted with a lacquer paint, not the same as original but it was you could still get lacquer paint. The chrome is in excellent condition, the pot metal parts have a couple of very minor blemishes and the stainless trim is very good. The panel alignment is great, the doors will all close themselves as designed. The glass is all good with the exception of 2 vent windows showing some delaminating starting. There are a few chips from being driven and the very bottom of the drivers rear door has a couple of blisters, they've been there since he bought it in 2001. It has several rare factory options such as the fog lights, back up lamp, window rain guards and exhaust deflector. It has the beautiful Firestone reproduction tires, ruby center hubcaps and matching front plate to finish off the elegant appearance. Mechanically it has been serviced regularly and everything functions as designed except for the clock. The clutch was replaced Dec. 2012 with new seals in the transmission at the time. The master cylinder was replaced when it was discovered being the wrong one when the clutch was replaced. The speedometer wasn't working because of a bad cable so it was replaced and the head was rebuilt at the same time. The car showed 42K miles when it stopped working so it was rolled ahead to 47K when rebuilt by figuring his average use multiplied by the number of years it wasn't working so it should be real close. The valves were ground several years ago and new head gasket installed. The Electromatic clutch was serviced this year for a bad governor and adjusted. The temperature gauge was rebuilt this year also and the intake/exhaust gaskets were replaced including new studs in the block. The car drives excellent, the clutch will operate itself for shifting, the overdrive engages smoothly and drops out perfectly for passing and it idles so quiet you almost can't hear it running standing next to it. The exterior of the car is very nice, it has an older paint job that was laid over a perfectly straight body, it shines well and only has a few small spots that have started to check a little. The chrome and stainless trim show very well, there are some small pits on the handles and other cast parts as expected on a car that is driven. The panel alignment is as it should be and I couldn't see any indications of rust issues or any prior collision damage. The glass is beautiful, no scratches and only a few tiny pits in the windshield. There are several factory accessories, factory fog lights, reverse light, wind deflectors and the exhaust deflector that are very seldom seen on this model. In fact I was told this car is the only one known to have these fog lights and the widow shades. The tires are just a few years old and look almost new, the car is garaged of course. The wheel covers are near perfect. All exterior lights work perfectly as does the horn. The interior is very presentable, almost everything is original right down to the carpet. The cloth on the front seat back. There is some wear on the drivers armrest but it's minimal and the drivers side of the carpet has some discoloration from shoes over the years. The rear seats look almost new and the headliner is in very good condition. The faux wood shows well on the dash and doors. The steering wheel has a few small cracks developing but nothing serious, still very presentable. The horn, turn signals and both radios work well. All of the dash lights work, all of the gauges as do all the switches. The windows roll up and down as they should and vent windows work well. The only other item not functioning is the clock but it's still right twice a day. The car has NO rust issues, I've spent time under her and found nothing other than light surface patina. The car was sold new back east but definitely was well cared for because I know what cars that aren't look like since I'm originally from WI. I think I've covered everything, but it's possible I missed something. I tried to show everything in the pictures and have additional pictures so send me your email address if you want to see something in more detail. The car is close by my shop so I can get any other pics you need if I don't already have them. There is no Buy-It-Now, if you want to bypass the auction process please make an offer I can submit to the owner for approval. If your offer is acceptable a Buy-It-Now can be added for you, many of the auctions I do are completed that way. There is no interest in any trades, the owner is has more cars to keep up than and is reducing his collection currently. He has owned the car over 12 years now, he doesn't need to sell it. I welcome inspections, the car is in Clovis, CA, close to my shop and can be viewed by appointment. The winning bidder will receive clear title California title for the car, the historical license plates and all the service records and owner history he posses. I can assist with arranging shipping to your location or make recommendations for shipping, of course it can be picked up in person after we have received funds. This car is located in Clovis, CA. Terms and Conditions Of The Auction The winning bidder agrees to provide a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction, the balance is due within 7 days. The balance is to be paid through a bank transfer. Please don't bid if your funds are not readily available, if you are applying for a loan please give the bank ample time for an inspection. The auction is to purchase a car, the winning bidder is entering a contract to purchase this car and not to look it over after the purchase, please arrange any inspections before auction end. Ask all questions necessary to make a decision before auction end. If we arrange transportation for the vehicle, open or enclosed, the buyer pays for the shipping. While every effort is made to provide complete and accurate information regarding each vehicle being auctioned, bidders are advised to rely upon their own research. I personally look at these vehicles and write these auction listings, I also gather as much information from the car owner. My descriptions are as I see the car, it may differ from your opinion. I have over 30 years experience but as you, I am human and it is possible for me to miss something. PLEASE ASK, your questions will be answered and if I don't know I will find out. The car is listed on our website and we reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time should this vehicle be sold before auction ending time, before the reserve has been met and shall not be held responsible or liable for such cancellation. No auction will ended early once the reserve has been met. Normal Business hours are Mon.-Fri. 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST I can be reached after hours as well. Through the "Ask Seller a Question" link above, Call if you have questions but understand I may not answer because I might be under a car so leave a message please. By phone (888) 285-7355 or (559) 252-7742 On Aug-25-15 at 12:35:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Neil, the past owner and past President of Packards International reminded me of two options I forgot to mention; the Goddess of Speed hood ornament and the rear antennae. He also corrected me, CCCA gave it 98 points & a National first in 1989.

1954 Packard Clipper Deluxe 1954 Packard Deluxe 2 Door Coupe with full size back seat. We believe that this car has original paint as it could use a great buffing job on the trunk deck lid and front hood. We are not sure if the interior is original, but it is in excellent shape. This is a solid car and we have owned it for approximately 8 years. It was driven during parades and events and a few car night cruises, but we do not use it enough to justify keeping it. We have had a few Packards over the years, and this one seems to be the one people like best! This car would make a great family cruiser. The body seems solid and it runs and drives well. odometer shows 88202 miles (not sure if it is actual mileage). This car has an automatic transmission. The car is located in Metamora, MI and we would recommend that you come see this car in person before making a decision to buy it online. We have included many pictures, but if you would like more, please contact us and we would be more than happy to send more. Clear title.

1947 PACKARD SUPER CLIPPER 8 SERIES TOURING SEDAN LIMO - FACTORY 356 L HEAD PACKARD 8 CYLINDER - INCREDIBLE LUXURY COLLECTOR. 1947 PACKARD SUPER CLIPPER SEDAN SUPER CLIPPER 8 SERIES TOURING SEDAN INCREDIBLE TIME CAPSULE AND AT THE TOP OF ITS CLASS IN 47!! FACTORY 356 STRAIGHT 8 L HEAD PACKARD ENGINE - RUNS LIKE A TOP LUXURIOUS AND ROOMY LONG WHEEL BASE MODEL - RARE HENNEY MOTORCAR COMPANY BUILT CHASSIS BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR - WIDE WHITES - ALL FACTORY COMPONENTS INTACT - VERY VERY RARE! This 1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper 8 Series Touring Sedan features a long wheelbase. This post-WW II classic was a top-of-the-market luxury vehicle. Blessed with the looks and styling of an elite limousine, it is mostly original and will make an excellent addition to any collection. You will look and feel like a Big Shot/Movie Star in this high-quality beauty which is one of the most rare Packards in the market place... Packard redesigned its entire line around the Clipper, even extending it to its top-of-the-line seven-passenger sedan and limousine. These models were built on an extended 148-inch wheelbase chassis by the Henney Motor Company, of Freeport, Illinois, Packard's long-serving builder of ambulances and limousines. Henney's reputation for craftsmanship was legendary, and these cars, essentially the first modern "stretch" limousines, were built with the same care and quality as any coachbuilt automobile, continuing the pre-war tradition begun by Rollston, LeBaron, and others. They were beautifully finished with the finest materials, including beautiful broadcloth upholstery, Mosstred carpeting, and Art Moderne wood-grain and Bakelite trim. NOTE: Production of the seven-passenger models was extraordinarily low, and survivors are prized by collectors, not least because they are among the final Packards recognized as Full Classics by the Classic Car Club of America Rare! 1947 Packard Super Clipper 8 Series Touring Sedan Series 2126. 165 hp, 356 cu. in. L-head inline eight-cylinder engine, three-speed manual transmission with Econo-Drive overdrive, independent front suspension with semi-elliptic rear springs, and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. Wheelbase: 148 Arizona Titled - VIN 21513826 Drives Beautifully Factory 356 Straight 8 L Head Engine Beautiful Touring Sedan Interior Is Beautiful and and classically original! All Original Dash And Components - Very Nicely Preserved New Wide Whites On Original Packard Wheels And Hubcaps All Glass In Good Shape History of the 1947 Packard Clipper Packard turned from building top-tier luxury cars prior to WWII to Rolls-Royce Merlin aircraft engines during the war, but picked up in 1946 with the Clipper series they had introduced in 1941. The returning 1946 Packard Clippers were almost identical to the prewar cars, being semi-streamlined two- and four-door sedans with fade-away fenders. The grille remained tall and narrow, only now with fewer and thicker bars. The Clipper could be ordered with a 245-cid straight-six engine that produced 105 hp, a 125-hp straight-eight engine that displaced 282 cid, or a 356-cid, 165-hp L-head eight. The latter engine was reserved for the luxury Super and Custom Super lines. The base Clipper rode on a 120-inch wheelbase, while the Super and Custom Super Clippers rode a 127-inch wheelbase. The Custom Super also came as a seven-passenger sedan and as a limo, both of which rode on 148-inch long wheelbases, which was one of the longest in the domestic industry. Prices ran from $1,700 for a six-cylinder car to $2,900 for a Custom Super Clipper sedan. The LWB versions were more than $1,000 above that price, still. The Clipper is an interesting line to follow, with some of the 1946 and 1947 cars at the very top of Packard quality. Because of low production numbers once they are found they are worthwhile additions to any collector's garage and sky rocketing in value!!! More pictures are available by request. Serious buyers only. Thanks and have a blessed day.

Wow, Talk About A Fifties Land Yacht !!! This Smooth, Straight, Solid and Shiny, Air Conditioned, 1955 Packard Clipper Custom, Is A True Luxury Cruiser !!! These Magnificent Packard Automobiles Beat Cadillac and Lincoln In Both Comfort and Performance !!! These were the cars that were sure to make the neighbors jealous when the original owners brought them home !!! This Car Is A 68,600 Actual Mile, UN-RESTORED, ORIGINAL SURVIVOR. One of 8,708 produced And One of 43 Believed To Exist IN THE WORLD !!!! You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example ANYWHERE for this money !!! ************** This car has been part of a large private collection for many, many years. The owner was my friend Russ and this was his favorite car for tours and general cruising. Russ bought this car from another collector in DRY, DRY, IDAHO High Country which accounts for it’s LACK of RUST. It is VERY, VERY SOLID. Russ always stored it in a climate controlled facility. This car never sat in a Farmers Barn, a field or a junkyard. It instead sat in a loving owner’s garage. It was not pieced together with bits and pieces from junk or abandoned cars. I am pretty sure most of the parts here were installed by Packard Factory Workers on the assembly line. Sadly, Russ passed away last year and now his collection is being dispersed. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET A GREAT DEAL ON A WONDERFUL OLD CAR !!! Here Are The Details; BODY- SUPER SOLID. I would say this car is virtually RUST-FREE. I have seen no evidence of major rust or rust repair. This car is VERY STRAIGHT, shows minimal wear and tear and I see NO EVIDENCE OF CRASH REPAIR. The hood, doors and trunk line up nicely and shut with a CLICK. Is it perfect? No…it is 60 years old and has a couple of MINOR dings and such. To expect me to try to give a description like “there is a BB sized ding 4 inches below the right rear door handle at a 47 degree angle is ludicrous. All in all a VERY NICE BODY. PAINT- SMOOTH and SHINY.As far as I can tell this car has had one professional repaint since new. The area that is now Tan was originally Canary Yellow. The Raven Black area has always been black. The refinish is smooth and shiny with no orange peel and nice depth. The trim was removed prior to painting. I have an auto restoration shop and know a good job from a bad one. I would say this was done correctly. The paint on the firewall is original. NICE PAINT !!! ENGINE and TRANSMISSION- I am told this is the original 352 Cubic Inch 245 Horse Power Overhead Valve V-8 engine. This was the first year for the Overhead and this is the High Power OPTION for the Clippers. 4-bbl carburetor with the optional Ultramatic Automatic Trans mission. The engine starts easily and runs well with no strange noises. The transmission shifts as it should and will occasionally leak some fluid after it has been sitting awhile which I am told is normal for these machines. The rear end is quiet. Russ annually took this car to a Packard expert in Minnesota for servicing and a tune up as he wanted it ready to go anywhere he desired at a moment’s notice. Knowing Russ as I did, I would think if it had any problems he would have addressed them. Exhaust is quiet with no leaks. RUNS WELL !!! INTERIOR- Very Classy tan and black cloth fabric done in the original style. NO RIPS, NO WEAR and TEAR. NEVER SMOKED IN !!! Carpet is nice. Dash has the ORIGINAL BLACK PAINT as I believe the Garnish Moldings also have. Dash Chrome is very nice. Nice steering Wheel and Horn Ring. NICE INTERIOR !!! CHROME and TRIM – EXCELLENT ORIGINAL. Fifties cars are all about the chrome and trim and this car is nice. I believe it is all ORIGINAL. The Bumpers and Grill are shiny. The Diecast is in good condition and the Stainless is as well. Is it perfect? No. Again it is 60 years old and has a tweak or a ding here or there but nothing you would need to address unless you want to. VERY NICE TRIM !!! SUSPENSION and BRAKES- Factory POWER BRAKES and Torsion-Level Suspension. Seem to be working as they should but I have not driven the car a lot and I am not an expert. The car has been mostly sitting for the last couple of years because of Russ’ illness. As with any old car I would suggest checking things out before you do a long trip. WHEELS and TIRES- Original type steel wheels and Hub Caps with newer style Radial Whitewall tires. Tread looks good but I’m not sure how old they are. GLASS- GOOD. No cracks. I think most of it is ORIGINAL and properly Date Coded. OTHER STUFF- Air Conditioning is Vintage Air Type aftermarket and was working well when it was last used. Might need a recharge but it is Winter here and hard to tell. At any rate it is modern stuff that today’s techs should be able to work on. FACTORY POWER ANTENNA WORKS ( that’s got to be kind of rare). Lights light. Gauges gauge. Wipers wipe. Horn toots. That’s about it. As you can see I have tried to cover it. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL. I am a straight shooter and will not knowingly misrepresent anything. The car is presently stored for the Winter but you are welcome to come and inspect it. Remember, it is Winter here in Iowa and the roads are covered with ice, snow and road salt. Thus, there will be no test drives as I do not want to subject this car to potential damage. Come to think of it you don’t get a test drive at Barrett Jackson, Mecum, RM or any other Auction either. Is this car perfect ? No. There is no such thing as a perfect car !!! Is this car nice ? Yes, this car is very nice !!! Is this a car I can drive with PRIDE ? Yes !!! YOU CAN BUY THIS CAR TODAY FOR FAR LESS THAN YOU CAN DUPLICATE IT !!! IT IS READY TO GO TODAY WITH NO FOUR YEAR WAIT WHILE A SHOP RESTORES IT FOR YOU !!! Overseas Buyers are welcome. I can help arrange dependable, professional shipping anywhere in the World at a reasonable cost. Questions ? Call Skeet. You are bidding on my 1956 Packard Clipper Custom Constellation. The car was purchased as part of a stash of Packard cars and parts in 2006. The car has a number of unique features.. It came equipped with a twin 4bbl intake and carb. During the course of the restoration somehow the carbs refused to function even after 2 rebuilds. The setup goes with the car, I WILL NOT SEPARATE. I had a single 4 bbl intake that I used to make it run. The single 4bbl IS the front carb from the twin 4 set. My mechanic seems to think that the accelerator pump needs work. I just did not want to spend more time on it, that is why I switched it over. The original owner was a Packard employee in Chicago and he seniorized the car with senior front fenders and grille. It also has a Caribbean hood with twin scoops. The 352 engine has been professionally rebuilt and runs great. 0 miles on the engine since rebuild. The transmission is tight and works fine WW Tires are new Bumpers front and rear have been chromed as well as the Dagmars and the exhaust extensions. Paint has been professionally done in Black and Jamaica Yellow. Brakes are all new. Interior is all done in the proper Black and Jamaica Yellow cross/hatch pattern along with new carpetThe torsion level system works good. I will also include the A/C components that I have: Compressor, rear air blower, dryer, mounting bracket, triple groove pulley. I do not have the condenser nor the under dash switch. I was planning on having some fun with the car out on the local show circuit, but the economy being what it is, there will be no chance of that. The car needs to SELL, that’s SELL not give or donateIf you want more pictures I will send you whatever you need. I have before, during and after restoration.
