Many people are not familiar with the Salvage or Rebuilt title, below is a brief explanation of the "Salvage verses Rebuilt Title" terminology: Salvage title means that the insurance company decided not to fix the car and paid off the owner. By declaring a car "Total Loss”, the Insurance Company is taking themselves out of any liability issues in the future. Does that mean the car is totaled, not always. Sometimes the car has minor damage but the parts are very expensive. Sometimes the owner does not want to get the vehicle repaired and depending on the Insurance Company and the year of the car, Insurance will pay off the owner. If the car gets stolen then Insurance has thirty days to recover the vehicle, if the car is not recovered in thirty days, Insurance pays off the owner and once the car is recovered, it is brought to the auction as a Total Loss vehicle even if it did not have any damage on it. We have bought 'Total Loss" cars from Insurance companies with door dings, extremely minor fender bender, theft recovered vehicles with absolutely no damage. I have recently moved from Austin, Tx to Ann Arbor, Michigan and am no longer in need of my 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5S. This car has been reliable, caused no issues, has little wear and tear, and will undoubtably please whomever purchases. The car has maintained steady oil changes and car maintenance. Just before listing, July 2015, the car received (4) brand new Goodyear tires. The car has also transferred license plates, titles, drivers license, insurance policies, etc. to Michigan and should have no issue in exchanging ownership. I have even gone to the Ann Arbor Nissan dealership and had the batteries exchanged (free of charge) on the 'push-to-start' car keys so that the eventual owner will experience no issue upon purchase. Altimas in general feature a large trunk which can hold large sets of groceries/golf clubs/ camping gear/etc. The car drives without issue in cold climates, like new condition with 80,500 milage, and upon request can come with the bike rack as pictured above. We changed the oil and started this Altima with no issues. The interior of the vehicle was damp when it arrived to our shop. It appears that the water just got the floor wet. We replaced the carpet with carpet that was purchased new from the dealer. After installing the carpet the vehicle was ready to go. This Altima runs and drives excellent in its current condition with no issues found in the engine, transmission, suspension, cooling and/or electrical. The vehicle was purchased after sustaining fresh water damage. It appears that the previous owner drove through standing water which in turn was sucked into the intake stalling the engine. We checked all of the fluids for contamination from the water. All of the fluids came back free of water. After performing the precautionary maintenance the vehicle started right up without any problems. The drivers front carpet was slightly damp when the vehicle arrived. More then likely from when the from the previous owner was getting out of the vehicle after driving through the water. We pulled the interior, had it professionally cleaned and allowed it to dry over the course of a couple of days. After putting the interior back in the vehicle there were no other issues. This Altima now runs and drives excellent in its current condition with no issues found in the engine, transmission, suspension, cooling and/or electrical. There are no musty odors in the interior. There are no warning lights illuminated on the dash. All of the minor dents and body blemishes are visible in the photos.
