This 1979 MGB is a wonderful foray into a time when the cars were elemental and pure, and the driving experience wasn't measured on a clock, but instead by the size of the grin on your face. The MGB is one of those cars that everyone loves to see because they know it's built for pure pleasure. The compact proportions are ideally suited for carrying two passengers, and there's no extra fat to steal performance. The taut bodywork is now an icon that is pure retro cool. The chrome trunk rack adds a bit of class and is something you'll find useful on your next weekend getaway. But what really makes this roadster standout is the paint. Red was a factory color, but next to those, this MGB will look like a premium upgrade thanks to a respray in a hue borrowed from the Mercedes palette. This is not the kind of cushy interior that comes from a turnpike cruiser, but if you've read this far, you already knew that. Instead, the entire inside envelops the driver like a second skin. The space between the three-spoke wheel and the stick shift (both with factory optional wood accents) is exceptionally close for comfortable and quick performance. This entire interior feels quite original right down to the AM/FM/cassette stereo. The driver gets a full set of gauges with a large speedometer and tachometer as well as dials for other vitals such as oil, fuel, and water. The tan interior is in great condition, and over the coming years it will resist UV fading much better than the black ones. Since you'll be spending most of your time with the top down, the included tonneau cover will certainly come in handy. Power comes from a sprightly 1798cc four-cylinder motor. With a sporty exhaust note and a willingness to rev, the engine lives up to its British roadster pedigree by offering a mighty experience in a small package. The sound of the powerplant, the slickness of the four-speed gearbox, and unmatched tight handling are some of this car's many virtues. There is a surefooted feeling on the road thanks to the iconic alloy wheels with disc brakes behind the front set. This car comes with maintenance records and the owner's manual, so you know it has lived a cared for life. But if you do feel like spending a weekend tinkering with this one, the parts are easy to obtain and install. The MGB is one of those rare affordable icons. It's as easy to own and maintain as a VW Beetle but runs in much cooler circles. Up for auction is a my very, very nice 1969 MGB with its original engine ( this is a numbers matching car ). It is a 4 speed with a non-overdrive transmission. I purchased the car to use as my weekend lake car but due to unforeseen boat repairs I must pass this little girl on to the next person. I have spent well over $3000 on the car recently so please take time to read the auction in full as there are very few if any 1969 MGB's out there in this condition. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. Mechanicals: The car runs great. The car was recently serviced which included: new points, new plugs, new ignition wires, new distributor cap, new rotor button, oil change, new oil filter, new air filters, coolant fluid changed, all fluids topped off, both carburetors ( front and rear ) rebuilt, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new fuel sending unit, new speedometer cable, new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder fluid hose and some other things I just can't think of right now . The car sounds great and it should given I just had the exhaust header replaced and the entire exhaust system from the header to the tail pipe replaced. Also, last week the car had 4 new high quality radial tires installed. The car starts right up with no issues or smoke. The brakes and clutch peddles are strong and firm. The engine is "drum tight " with no signs of any fluid drips anywhere under the car at this time. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or noises what so ever from the transmission or the rear end. Electrical's: This area is in unbelievable condition with no signs of the dreaded Lucas electrical Gremlin on this car. The following items are in proper working order: headlights ( high & low beam ) work , wipers work, horn works, front & rear turn signals work, front & rear running lights work, brake lights work, backup lights work, license plate lights work, dash gauge lights work, all dash indicator / warning lights work, courtesy light works, blower fan works and the radio works. Gauges: All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand. Interior: Is in very, very nice condition and I'll let the photos speak for its condition. Note: About 12 to 14 months ago nearly everything on the interior was replaced. Exterior: The car looks great but still driver quality and should not be considered a "show" car. The car sits nicely on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded MGB "Leaning" issues. Look at how well the body, hood, trunk and doors fit. As seen all body panels, hood, trunk, wheel arches, dog legs and doors are laser straight. All glass is original Triplex glass in very nice condition. Also, less than a year ago the front bumper, front grill and rear bumper where replaced ( they look fabulous!! ). Underbody: The frame and inner sills / rocker panels looks very good but at some point the floors where replaced ( common on these cars and just about any car that's 42 years old ). While I'm not and expert in my opinion the floor repairs where done to a very good standard. Note: I don't have any photos of the underbody at this time but I'll see about getting some and posting then to the auction Soft Top: The soft top is brand new and was professionally fitted and installed last month. Tops / Covers: The car does come with the high end and highly sought after top cover, Tonneau cover ( covers the full cockpit ) and a car cover as well. Trunk: The truck is rock solid. The car has a spare tire and wire wheel. As you can see the trunk has a new carpet kit installed and does come with a "MG" logo spare tire cover. Shipping: If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ). I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or extra photos let me know prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees are expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time.

This 1975 MG MGB is an excellent way to enjoy the classic car hobby while also enjoying the sun and twisty roads. These are honest roadsters that deserve attention with classic style, nice trim and the white paint on the MG's compact body is a great, subtle look. The rubber bumpers are a love-it proposition for MG fans, but the important thing is that they're in good shape and the fit is quite good. Panel fitment is nice, the body work is clean and straight, and the doors shut with confidence. It's simple in design and everything remains in nice enough shape that'll you'll love taking it out and showing it off while enjoying it how it was intended, and that's enjoying a nimble driving experience. A brown, vinyl interior adds an elegant touch and looks even better with a contrasting black dash. The bucket seats are covered in a weave that keeps them cool and comfortable on hot summer days, and wear has been minimal. Beautiful Smiths gauges are part of the British charm, all of them functional, as is the more recent AM/FM/CD stereo just ahead of the black shifter. The door panels are clad in more brown vinyl with operational window cranks and speakers for the updated stereo system. With the new convertible top up or top down, there's ample head room for taller drivers, and the 3-spoke steering wheel connects those drivers to the road. The roadster was only available with a reliable and torquey 1800cc inline-four which was good for about 60 horsepower. But with less than 2000 pounds of car to haul around, performance is entertaining. You'll quickly discover the joy of a British sports car isn't tire-melting power, but the exceptional balance of power and cornering. A 4-speed manual shifts easily and you'll be wanting to master the heel-and-toe maneuver so that you can savor the tenor exhaust note provided by the aftermarket muffler. The engine bay is tidy with evidence of careful maintenance. Carburetor and exhaust upgrades may add a bit of performance, too, while power brakes make the driving experience a bit more enjoyable. It's probably safe to assume these cars have found their share of their market, they don't get much more affordable than this. And while it may not be skyrocketing in value anytime soon, you'll certainly be appreciative of the many thrills this car brings. If you decide to purchase from us, we require that you give us your complete name, address and phone numbers (home, office, mobile and fax) and a port of entry that handles containers. We do not ship vehicles open (RORO: Roll On Roll Off) due to risk of damage to vehicle and theft of parts. All international purchases must be paid by bank wire transfer in US Dollar funds only.
