Today, as always, this car is all about affordable fun in the sun and the look makes this one stand out in a crowd. The biggest modification, and the one that you'll appreciate most, is the removal of those clunky federally-mandated rubber bumpers, which marred the otherwise sleek MGB in the mid-70s. Shaving them off completely gives this MGB a sleek, purposeful look that's entirely in line with its sporting intentions. Adding a chrome grille up front makes it look like the original designers intended and with a pair of big rally lights up front and a roll pan in back, the car looks quite finished, as if the factory built it that way. The silver paint was done a while ago and isn't show quality, but for a car that's destined to be driven with gusto on twisting country roads, nobody will notice or care. The important stuff like the rockers and doors are in good condition and the overall unusual look will win this B a lot of fans along the way. Traditional styling elements like the chrome-ringed side marker lights, big taillights, and exposed rear gas filler remain in place, keeping this car firmly tied to its British heritage. When you think "British sports car," this 2-seat interior is what should pop into your mind. Twin buckets flanking a console, rugged seat covers that are cleverly textured to keep them cool, and big, simple gauges were all hallmarks of MG in the 1970s. The wood-rimmed steering wheel adds some very welcome warmth to the interior yet maintains a traditional sports car look with its aluminum spokes, and the fatter rim makes it easy to grab with your string-back driving gloves (you do own a pair of those, right?). The gauges are in good order, the seat covers are excellent, and it appears to have recent carpets. The car's most desirable feature, a factory overdrive, is actuated by a big red switch on the dash, rally style, and it not only transforms the MGB into a decent long-distance cruiser, but it makes you feel like you're at the wheel of a far more expensive machine. There's a decent-fitting black convertible top that fits behind the seats, and the trunk is nicely carpeted and includes a full-sized spare. The 1798cc inline-four won't win any drag races, but the joy of an MG is not all-out speed but rather how the machine goes about its business. The gutsy engine loves to rev and makes a great baritone howl from the exhaust pipe out back, so you'll relish each gear shift. You can drive this car at 9/10ths and really have a ball without endangering the countryside, and it works exceptionally well. The nicely detailed engine has a few bright red accents, an aftermarket exhaust header, and enough power to feel lively at any speed. The 4-speed manual shifts easily and you'll love running it through the gears, and with the aforementioned overdrive, it's pretty relaxed on the highway, too. The suspension is a good combination of supple and competent and with the lightweight bodywork, the brakes are impressive. Factory wheels look right and carry 175/70/14 Falken radials all around. You've been admiring MGBs for years, why not take the plunge and get a good one? MG : MGB rubber bumper with luggage rack 1977 mgb roadster built for fast rallying or vintage racing with less than 500 mi
$7,665
Gainesville, Georgia
This car was originally purchased new in California in 1977. It was brought to Atlanta by second owner in 1998. I am the third owner and began to rebuild and upgrade the car in 2000. It currently has over $6000 of new parts installed. The original engine was discarded and replaced with a race ready engine built by Reed Speed&Sport of Cumming, GA. The transmission was replaced with a locally rebuilt unit. In short, this car will go! Details: Most of the upgrade/replace work was completed in 2005. Since that time the car has been stored except to drive short distances several times per year to preserve the running gear. The oil has been changed once per year regardless of the need. There is certainly no more that about 500 miles on the car. The suspension has been lowered to former chrome bumper standards using custom kingpins and all new shocks and bushings so as to improve both looks and handling. Rear shocks are rebuilt originals. The car uses Mini wheels with all new brakes. The fuel pump is brand new. The engine came bored .020 over to aid in seating the new pistons which were profiled so as to optimize the compression ratio for street running with premium gas. The head is an earlier big valve type with new springs, bronze guides, valves and lifters. The cam is by Crane intended to yield higher torque at lower RPM's. Induction is by newly rebuilt duel SU HS-4 Carbs. Exhaust is all new and manifolds have been flame-spray coated with ceramic. A new distributor with hot coil is included. If buyer wants, standard distributor can be swapped out for electronic ignition. Brake servo is new as well as rebuilt master cylinder. The top and tonneau are in good condition except for a few places that could use restitching. Carpets are new. All work and parts documentation are provided. This MG would make a fast and fun rally car, vintage racer, or great handling mountain touring car. I will gladly answer any questions and invite all reasonable offers.

MG : T-Series Rare Competition Model 1951 mgtd c
$10,500
Brunswick, Georgia
You are bidding on a rare 1951 MGTD “C” roadster. There were only about 1,700 total “C” TDs produced during the run of about 30,000 total MGTDs. The “C” (competition) model came from the factory with a whopping 5 to 6 HP more than the standard MGTD, due to some modifications at the factory. This car has been in storage about 40 years. The previous owner bought the car in 1966. It still has the dual fuel pumps, Andrex shock absorbers, original larger air cleaner, bulge in the right side of the hood for the larger intake manifold, etc. It does not appear to have ever been molested. The engine is the original, matching numbers one that came with the car from the factory. (See picture of VIN tag and engine tag.) Rust does not appear to be a problem with this car. The only rust hole I could find was in the bottom of the battery box. Some of the wood that is visible will need attention, such as where the top attaches in the back. If this were a standard MGTD, it would probably sell for around $4,000 less than my “Buy It Now” price. If you’re looking for an MGTD to restore, it makes more sense to pay the extra $4,000 for a rare one because you’ll more than make up this cost if you decide to sell it once it’s restored. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the Florida Title I received when I bought the car. If you have any questions, you can use the “Ask Seller A Question” box, or call me at (912) 222-5771 between 9 AM and 9 PM, Eastern time.

Evolution was slow at Morris Garage, but there's a reason why cars like this 1953 TD were brought home by the hundreds by GIs returning from Europe, and why they remain wildly popular today. 1953 was also the final year of the TD, and for many enthusiasts, the separate headlights and fenders define the vintage MG look. The look is pure pre-war, with separate fenders and a long hood, but the energetic handling and performance were quite contemporary. This MG was completely and expertly restored in 2008, but it wasn't over-restored to the point where you're afraid to drive it, which misses the point entirely. The body construction was traditional, but that also means that it's light and easy to repair, and this one shows no signs of serious damage or the MG's arch-nemesis, rust. Hood and door fit are quite good, and the creamy English White paint is a very authentic-looking finish that's neither too shiny nor full of metallic, both of which are instant giveaways to incorrect choices. It shows only a few light signs of use, of course, but the overall presentation is what endears MGs to their legions of fans. Of course, things like the chrome grille, stand-alone headlights, and simple bumpers give it an old-fashioned look, and they're all in excellent shape. Inside the diminutive cabin, there's adequate room for two, and once you settle into the low-slung bucket seats and assume the proper driving position, you'll find it's easy to spend hours behind the wheel without fatigue. Well, maybe your cheeks will be hurting from grinning so much, but the driving experience is involving without being exhausting. The leather seats have been properly reupholstered in pleated tan leather, which matches the door panels that offer useful storage pockets. The lovely dashboard is genuine wood, not a veneer, and houses a full array of Jaeger instruments that have been fully restored and sparkle with a truly British look. The three spoke steering wheel is still the universal symbol for sports car, and has been completely restored to a high level like the rest of the interior. And since MG lovers are serious about their cars, this one offers a matching tan canvas convertible top as weather protection, which quickly separates the men from the boys, although it does include a full set of side curtains for truly inclement weather. The whole point of an MG isn't brute power, but they're plenty peppy with the 1250cc inline-four, and it has a wonderful baritone exhaust note that's half the experience. It was rebuilt during the 2008 restoration and this one really is a wonderful runner, firing up easily through dual side-draft carburetors with chrome air cleaners. The whole engine is scarcely bigger than a briefcase, but all the parts are easy to get at and maintain, which is why MGs are so beloved today. The engine's linked to a slick-shifting 4-speed manual transmission whose light action and progressive clutch are the cornerstone of performance driving and make it a joy to run at 8/10s. The chassis is a simple ladder frame, and as I mentioned before, there's zero rust or rot underneath, just a neatly detailed undercarriage that shows how thorough that restoration really was, because it's very, very clean. Stock steel wheels with chrome hubcaps look right and wear appropriately tall 165R15 radial tires. One drive and you'll see why it's so easy to love an MG, and this TD delivers that old-world fun with the benefits of a quality restoration behind it. MG : Midget 1963 mg midget
$2,900
Griffin, Georgia
Originally a red/black, sidecutain, 1098cc, disc brake car. I bought it as a failed restoration project. I` ve had it right at 10 years and keep pushing it to the back of my garage. Not because I don`t like it, but because I have too many other projects ( I actually had three sidecurtain Spridgets at one time...........glad I`m normal. ). It`s basically complete. The only things I know that are missing are the exhaust system from the manifold back and the starter ( Last seen on a friend`s Midget. He borrowed it, installed it, and then promptly sold his car. ). I can`t see where there`s ever been any body damage. The only rust I can find is underneath the drivers side taillight ( Not below it, but underneath it. ), under the front edge of the hood where the chrome trim piece caught the water as it almost drained off, and on the two panels behind the rear fenders. A new top, tonneau, and interior kit ( red with grey piping. ) by Austin Healey Spares is included in the sale. Also included are a factory hardtop ( needing restoration ), two sets of Ace mercury wheel covers, and a few new chrome trim pieces ( MG emblems, grill surrounds, etc. ). I have extra bumpers, an extra hood, extra wheels, cockpit surrounds, windshield uprights. I think I even have an extra top frame. Basically anything I have that was made for a Spridget goes with it. It has a Georgia title. It is for sale locally. I reserve the right to pull/stop/whatever the listing if it sells locally. Transporting the car will be the responsibilty of the buyer.

1952 MG TD/C MARK II ROADSTER, COMPETITION MODEL Car No. TD/C 17174 EXL/NA Body No. 16522 / 88730 Engine No. XPAG/TD3/17424 Body Type. 22381 Original Mileage: 24,588 Our TD/C is a numbers-matching example. THIS IS A VERY RARE CAR. 1,710 TDC Models were produced out of a production run of 29,664 MGTDs. Approximately 5% of total production. As a result of the demand for a car with the MG TD's classic look, but with better handling characteristics and more power, MG built a limited number of TD/C's, the "C" standing for competition. An additional set of Andrex friction dampers were added to the shock absorbers of the car which was additionally equipped with twin fuel pumps, larger twin (13/4") carburetors, larger intake and exhaust valves, stronger valve springs, larger oil sump and other mechanical modifications. This car has the original radio which was installed in the glove box as a special option. Also, has an extremely rare, day-night rear view mirror flip up option. Optional heater unit installed. Windwings, Tonneau cover, Luggage rack, Excellent top and side curtains. It has always been parked in a climate-controlled garage, at the residence, and covered for over 30 years !!! Low original mileage. Southern car that looks like it did when it ran in mid-fifties. Wonderful patina. The car will need body work and paint, if you desire.. Motor turns freely, but does not currently start. Being 70 years old myself, I prefer to sell the car as a project however, if not sold, I will have it restored. It would be difficult to find a more original low mileage example to restore. Price is set below NADA book value. This vehicle is being sold as a restoration project. Car is registered, and insured in the state of Georgia. Sold with Bill of Sale only. Overseas buyers welcome. Seller assists with coordination of shipping from Charleston, S.C. to your nearest port. 1974 MG mgb
$2,000
Armuchee, Georgia
I am selling my 1974 MGB. 1974 was the last year for the steel bumper MGB. This car is very much original right down to the leyland radio and rostyle wheels with original aluminum bands which are very rare and impossible to find. The original colors have been changed to red and black. The car is equipped with AC but the AC does not work. I have not seen many of these with the AC option. This car has been in Franklin Co. GA. since it was purchased new in 74 so of course there is no rust. I bought it a few years ago from the second owner who had it for 30 years. The car is garage kept, in great condition, runs and drives perfectly. All lights work perfectly. Please note the details below. The car was recently painted in beautiful red and has the following: new tires 185/70-14 new black convertible top new black carpet new black custom leather on the seats new polished and wood steering wheel (the original steering wheel will also go with the car along with the original key) new K&N dual air filters, new spark plugs, new ignition wires, new starter, new alternator, new brake lines
