Hello, I am selling my 1963 Mercury Comet Custom 4-door Sedan. It has 103k original miles, and 9k on the engine rebuild. There is extensive history on the four owners involvement with this car back to the first owner. This car has fantastic chrome and paint with plenty of life. It's front grill and area below gas cap has a stunning black Plasti-Dip on it that can be peeled off clean whenever. It starts, runs, stops, shifts, and rides very smoothly. It doesn't pull to either side at all. There is very little play in the steering wheel. All the lights and signals work along with the heater. It has a beautiful after market spot light that was an original accessory optional for this car back in 63'. Incredibly well preserved with Original paint and trim!! I have original paperwork and plates to go with it!! It runs and drives like new!! Super smooth and powerful!! Lovingly maintained and in amazing condition all around. Looks awesome with natural patina. Cool vintage wagon would be awesome weekend cruiser, daily driver, or addition to any collection... The body is super straight with natural patina... the underside and chassis are solid. Paint presents well with some blemishes and patina... minor surface rust in a few spots but no rot. The car does not run as it has been parked for 11 years but it was running when it got parked.With tune up, battery, fresh fluids it should start. (289 V8 with 4 barrel carb)The car needs to go to the body shop even though the body is straight because it has some surface oxidation on the roof and needs fresh paint. This car originally had a white vinyl top that trapped moisture. Two roughest areas with rust holes look at pictures #13 and #14. That is the worst of the rust. Picture #14 is front passenger floor pan but its not that bad, small section.Includes over 40 original chromed parts (thats what you see in picture# 12.)The car needs headliner (picture# 6) the original headliner was torn and droopy so I just removed it but all original bows still in tact. The car needs upholstery ( the original was torn so I removed it).The front bucket seats and rear seat are in fairly good shape for being 50 years old (pictures #3, #9, and #15) the seats are not brittle and still functional.Perfect for someone who wants to renovate. I will provide a fresh current title and bill of sale with release of liability upon sale. Buyer responsible for transport of vehicle.
