The time has come for me to sell my beloved 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. Having only recently arrived in California, this car has been driven gently, garage kept, and very well maintained. Thanks to regular servicing, the 4.6 liter Ford V8 and automatic transmission run like new and perform well both in town and on the highway. In fact, when I had the car smog-tested in late September, I was told by the technician that she blew cleaner than the 2007 BMW that tested before me! The dark blue paint has been cared for and is in surprisingly good shape for its age. The vehicle has no rust and only sports a few small dings, scratches, swirl-marks, and chips. The two-tone leather and blue cloth interior are in very good shape and the 8-way power seats, power windows, and power locks work brilliantly. Furthermore, the air conditioner works like a dream, the heater is so toasty that it could melt lead, and the radio, though original, is surprising good. Other features include: - Rear defroster - Cruise control - Driver and passenger airbags - Removable sunshades on the back windows to protect the leather interior - Keyless entry (key fob and numerical key pad on the driver's door) - Front and rear heavy duty floormats - Locking gas cap - A steering lock ("The Club") and a wheel lock ("The Boot") Recent upgrades include: - A new set of Michelin Defender tires (very new - they have less than 1000 miles on them) - New wiper blades - New heavy-duty rear springs and front shocks - New tie-rod ends - New ball joints They most certainly do not make them like this anymore!
