This is my Blue on blue 1986 Mercedes Benz 300E. It is a rare factory 5 speed manual transmission car (only offered in USA in 86/88). Very few imported into the USA. Even fewer left in this condition. Under 100K original miles. Cold A/C, runs and drives great. No problem driving this car anywhere. Three owner car that was originally purchased in California, then sold within same family to a guy from Michigan. Guy from Michigan kept the car in Florida at winter home here locally. I purchased it here in the Tampa Bay area. The car currently has 95,1xx miles. It may have a few more as I enjoy driving it from time to time. Not forced to sell but do have my eye on another old Benz project. All gauges work on this car. Odometer works. Trip meter works. Outside temp gauge works. Central locking system works. Telescoping steering wheel works. A/C works. Cruise control works. Wiper and windshield cleaner/sprayer works. Both front power seats work w/memory setting for driver side. Drivers power head rest works, passengers side is off track but you can hear the motor trying to push/pull. Passenger power mirror works (drivers side is manual). Rear flip down head rest work. Sun visors w/vanity mirror and lights work. All dash and dome lights work. Buzzer sounds if lights left on or keys left in ignition. All power windows work except rear passenger (never got to that problem). Has aftermarket Cd/radio. Antenna does not work but you can hear motor trying to retract antenna when car is shut off. Sunroof opens, closes and tilts as it should. MB-Tex vinyl on seats is perfect. Springs in bottom cushion of front passengers seat worn but still very comfortable. Carpets are clean and free of stains or fading. Headliner is perfect clean and tight. Two door panels are starting to come unglued near the windows and also in the lower storage pockets on the door panel, just small 3-4" sections , easily could be re-glued with panels removed. Two cracks in dash and a couple very tiny cracks coming off speaker holes in outer dash corners. Needs a new hood pad. Typical stuff for these old W124 cars. Recently (under 500 miles ago) re-did the suspension with BRAND NEW factory Mercedes OEM parts (have around $2k in receipts from Crown Mercedes Benz). The only suspension parts not factory are the springs and shocks. In the front end we did all new H&R springs (lowers car 1.5"), new Bilstein Sport shocks, new spring pads, new upper shock mounts, new shock dust boots, new larger front sway bar (largest avail. from W124 limousine, imported from Germany), new front sway bar bushings (inner and outer), and new updated factory thicker sway bar brackets. In the rear end, everything was done including new H&R springs, new Bilstein Sport shocks, new spring pads, new larger 500E rear sway bar, new rear sway bar bushings, new upgraded metal sway bar links from W124 wagon (sedans use plastic links) , new differential bushings, new wheel carrier bushings, new control arm bushings, new sub frame bushings ( upgraded to Sportline), new torque arms, new camber arms, new thrust arms, and new tie rod kit. To top off the handling of the car, we added the widest possible wheel/tire combo with a set of factory Mercedes 16x8 SL129 (AKA Evo 1 wheels/190E Evolution). These wheels are identical in looks to the smaller factory 300E 15x7.5 set up. The wheels are 100% spotless, not a single scratch or blemish. The wheels were mounted/balanced with brand new Continental DW tires in staggered sizes of 205/55/16 fronts, and fat 225/50/16 rears. We ordered these new from TireRack just a few months back and they have under 500 miles of use. All receipts are included. We also did the euro headlight conversion using only factory Mercedes/Bosch parts. This includes the glass Bosch headlamps and Bosch euro amber corners. The bulbs we used are German made Osram "Night Breakers" both in the H4 headlights and the H3 fog lights. This set up is a great improvement over the plastic U.S. headlamps both in looks, illumination and safety. We chose to clean up the look on the front of the car by doing the headlamp wiper delete using new factory Mercedes delete panels painted to match the car. We also installed new factory front and rear bumper impact strips to clean up the tired look of the bumpers. The car was then tinted with Llumar 80% tint all the way around including windshield at 50%. This keeps the car cooler in the hot Florida sun and gives the old A/C system a chance to actually function decently. I also did a synthetic oil change, Mobil 1 tranny and differential fluid change and new shift rod bushings. Since I have owned the car it only gets 91 ethanol free gas. The car is a blast to drive with the new suspension combined with the factory 5 speed. The M103 inline 6 cyl. engine is surprisingly peppy. It has no problem keeping up with modern day traffic. The car does have its typical 30 year old issues, mostly cosmetic. A few small cracks in the dash, some small door dings on the passengers side, nothing major. All manuals, spare keys, spare tire/jack, tool kit, first aid kit are included with the car. I will also include the factory original headlamps w/wipers and the original 15" wheels/tires. I easily have over $10K in this car in just the past 6 months including what I paid for the car. Clear title in hand, clean Carfax, no accidents and ready for delivery. Test drives welcome. Car can be seen and picked up in St. Petersburg, FL. Email to discuss payment options. I will help with shipping if needed. Any questions, please just ask. Thanks for looking.
