1998 Mercedes Benz SL500 Hardtop Convertible. 315 horsepower! - 64,000 original miles - Automatic - V8 - Body and interior very good to excellent - Leather interior - AM/FM/Cassette/ with 10 Disc CD Changer - 80% rubber - Power everything Notes: This car took a hit at some point to the driver's side and was professionally repaired. The soft top goes half way up and stops. It operates fine manually. Antenna is missing, but radio works well while in town. Stereo system is GREAT! Tiny oil drip. NOTE: Last month I had $1,500 worth of engine work done by a Mercedes Dealership to fix a known issue. In 1998 and 1999, Mercedes used plastic oil lines in the engine to deliver the oil from the front of the engine to the back of the engine. After about 40,000 miles, those lines clog up, causing the engine to make a tapping noise at idle. After a couple minutes, oil would get forced through the plastic tubes and the tapping would stop. The Mercedes Dealer replaced all 16 plastic lines with stainless lines, and replaced the valve covers as part of the fix. NOTE: I also replaced a $500 hydraulic cylinder for the top last month. NOTE: Vermont is a no title state for vehicles older than 15 years. Your state will recognize, and accept a notarized bill of sale. This car runs and drives great, but is being sold as-is. Selling our 2004 Mercedes Benz C-240 Forematic Wagon. We bought this car "new" in 2004 from a Mercedes Dealer in Cleveland. The car was originally sold to the owner of the Cleveland Browns. He brought it home on a Friday, and his wife didn't like the color, so he returned it to the dealer on Monday. When I picked the car up, it had 268 miles on the odometer, but was technically "used". It's been a really good car for us! It has 191,000 miles on it. Loaded with features and drives like it's new! Here are some of the little things that are not perfect: - Scuffs, scratches and stone chips (all could be easily rubbed out or touched up) - CD Changer is broken - Cup Holder between seats in console is broken (has a little sliding panel that covers it). - Rear wiper doesn't work. - Noise in left front wheel. Sounds like a broken, or dragging caliper. - Door pull on the front passenger door needs replacing (not the door handle, just the pull handle). - Remote door lock only locks 3 doors. Driver's door has to be locked manually Tires are All Season Radials with 80% tread. Interior of car is very good to excellent condition.
