1998 Mercedes Benz SL500 Hardtop Convertible. 315 horsepower! - 64,000 original miles - Automatic - V8 - Body and interior very good to excellent - Leather interior - AM/FM/Cassette/ with 10 Disc CD Changer - 80% rubber - Power everything Notes: This car took a hit at some point to the driver's side and was professionally repaired. The soft top goes half way up and stops. It operates fine manually. Antenna is missing, but radio works well while in town. Stereo system is GREAT! Tiny oil drip. NOTE: Last month I had $1,500 worth of engine work done by a Mercedes Dealership to fix a known issue. In 1998 and 1999, Mercedes used plastic oil lines in the engine to deliver the oil from the front of the engine to the back of the engine. After about 40,000 miles, those lines clog up, causing the engine to make a tapping noise at idle. After a couple minutes, oil would get forced through the plastic tubes and the tapping would stop. The Mercedes Dealer replaced all 16 plastic lines with stainless lines, and replaced the valve covers as part of the fix. NOTE: I also replaced a $500 hydraulic cylinder for the top last month. NOTE: Vermont is a no title state for vehicles older than 15 years. Your state will recognize, and accept a notarized bill of sale. This car runs and drives great, but is being sold as-is.
