The inside of this Lotus is also very clean with Black leather seat with Yellow piping, wood trim dash, CD player, power windows, and more. We did get two keys, owners manual, full tool kit, and copies of the last service that was done to this Lotus and ready for the new owner. While everyone gets crazy about the gifts “in” the sleigh, I always thought the magical sleigh that can get you across the world in a day and handles like it is on rails was really the true gift. And this one is already painted RED!! If you truly want to impress your loved one or yourself and at the same time make every friend and family member jealous, this is the ONE GIFT they will talk about for years. I know, because that is what I did. In 2002 Lotus only produced 100 of their 25th Anniversary Edition Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo and this one is #74. The last major change Lotus did to the Esprit until they stopped production in 2004 was to switch to the round taillights in 2002. After 10,675 Esprit were made and 28 years after they started, Lotus stopped production on one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Julia Thompson, the designer of this body style, started the new updating in 1993, with 2002 being the last year of the last round of major changes (taillamps). The car is beautiful and yes you will get your picture taken while driving, while it is parked and you will hear all sorts of wild guesses as to what it is as unknowing males try to impress their equally unknowing girlfriends to their car knowledge. I have been told it is a Ferrari, a Bugatti, to a secret Corvette. I am not sure why people will tell you what you drive, instead of asking, but they will. If you are looking for a car that will keep you unnoticed, go buy a Porsche, as this is NOT the car. I bought the car for my wife on 11/29/2010 as a Christmas Present for her from Boardwalk Porsche with 21,541 miles. In the last 5 years we have only put 2700 miles but those have been some fun miles. I live on a street with 7 Ferraris (including a F40 and a F50), one Underground Racing Lambo, and a couple of Porsches, but mine gets the mailman to stop and take pictures. In the only car show we put it in, it one first place at the Boardwalk Spring Concorso on April 14, 2012 for the British Class. They used to have pictures up so you might be able to use your favorite search engine and see this beautiful car in action. Notes/Work done on the car: 1. The car has a clear screen on the front. 2. I replaced the clutch last year ($8k). 3. I replaced the battery with an Optima battery with a trickle charger setup. I will include the setup with the car. 4. The car has been completely checked out, and you will see from the pictures with the car on, no idiot lights are lit. A. Timing Belts have been changed to JAE BLUE timing Belts. B. All four Oxygen Sensors where changed as well. C. Also changed the a small Oil Hose, Idler Serp Pully and the Crankshaft position sensor. They were not “bad” but they a normal failure parts that are very easy to replace when replacing the Belts. D. All this work was done by Small Car World a very well respected Lotus service shop. If you have any questions you can call Richard and he can talk about the car. If you have the opportunity to go see his shop you should. There were a dozen or more Lotuses and very specialized British race cars from all years. 5. Tires are great, and nothing is leaking from any portion. 6. The glass is all perfect and the seats are great. I had new Gas Lift Shocks added to even the hatch stays open by itself. Don't laugh, those things are very expensive! 7. Sometime in it past the car had a cat back system installed and it sounds awesome. 8. I know of nothing wrong with the car except that the wife does not drive it now and this kind of car begs to be driven. With her not driving it, medical conditions, and myself being more of a convertible man, it is time for the next lucky person. 9. I also have the Services Manual included with car. 10. Ebay will only allow me to post 24 pictures. I have a lot more showing the seats, various body panels to show no damage, etc. I had planned on putting up 50 odd pics. 2003 Lotus Esprit - 6,276 Original Miles - Collector Owned - None Finer This beautiful 2003 Lotus Esprit is part of a 60+ car private collection in Austin, Texas. I purchased this Esprit Turbo in October of 2012 for my personal collection. At that time, the car's odometer showed 5,984 original miles. Today the mileage is 6,276 miles. I am the third owner of this iconic sports car. The car was originally delivered in Florida where the dealer kept it on display until April of 2005 when it was finally sold to its first owner with 139 miles on the odometer. That owner kept the car for less than two years, driving it a total of 2,100 miles before selling it to the second owner, a C-level executive with a Fortune 500 hotel company, who in turn sold it to me seven years and approximately 3,500 miles later. The mileage and history of the car is supported by extensive CARFAX and AutoCheck service and inspection documentation that is available for viewing by potential purchasers. When I acquired car, I had been searching for more than two years seeking nothing less than the best Lotus Esprit in the country. Specifically, I was seeking a low-mileage, 2002-2004 car in pristine condition and an exceptional color. As Lotus enthusiasts know, the 2002-2004 cars are widely considered the best of the breed and quality examples are hard to come by due to their extremely low production numbers (157 cars in 2002, 119 cars in 2003, and 16 cars in 2004). As you would expect from an ultra low-mileage vehicle, the car is simply spectacular in every way - as close to a new Esprit as you'll ever find - and truly an investment-grade vehicle in all regards. The car has been babied its entire life. It has never seen rain nor spent so much a single night outside. Under my ownership, the car has been maintained at my private facility in Austin, TX where it has been serviced by my personal staff who maintain all the cars in my collection. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country tomorrow. Along the way, I'd make sure to stop by a few tracks just for fun and I'd do my best to find and enter a local car show (which I would win). I believe this car to be among the finest, if not the finest, Lotus Esprits available anywhere in the world. Mechanicals:The car starts, stops and drives exactly as you would expect. It pulls hard, revs powerfully, shifts smoothly, and runs cool even in the 100+ degree Texas heat. The clutch is strong and the car brakes easily and in a straight line. The AC blows ice cold and the tires show excellent tread. There are no oil leaks, no smoking, or any odd sounds. The car has never been involved in any type of accident or collision and is as clean and solid as its low mileage suggests. Everything in the car works as it should - lights, switches, wipers, gauges, everything. The car is, obviously, numbers-matching. Exterior:From every angle, the car presents beautifully. The original paint is in outstanding condition - deep and glossy with no checking or signs of deterioration. There are no dents or scratches - not even a door ding - and the paint appears closer to 13 days old than 13 years. The rubber seals, trim, emblems, lenses and exterior hardware are all absolutely outstanding. The car retains 100% of it's original glass including its original windshield with correct, factory markings. Incredibly, the car retains 100% of its original delivery decals as seen in the photos. The car is photographed with its glass roof. The body-colored roof is also included in the sale and is in equally outstanding condition. In my years of collecting classic cars, I have rarely seen a car of this vintage in more pristine condition or one that presents closer to new. The cosmetics of this car will exceed your expectations. They certainly have mine. Interior:The interior of this car is a testament to what original, low-mileage cars should be. The dash is perfect - free of cracks and without warping. The door panels are beautiful. The controls and various switches are pristine. The original leather seats are outstanding. The gauges are clear and bright appearing as new. The steering wheel is perfect. The carpets present as new. Although there have been many different variations of the Esprit since 1976, it has always retained its famous wedge shaped body design. As all things, it has been refined and changed through the years to compete with the current sports car market. For the money the Esprit was always the good looking under dog that was loaded with power and ability! Adapted from a 4 cylinder turbo to a V8 twin-turbo set up in 1997 this beast became a raging monster that is still one of the most under rated sports cars available today. With 350 HP to the rear wheels and 295 Ft/Lbs of torque this beast gets off the line in a big hurry (4.2 sec 0-60). Brand new, the Final Edition cars sold for just a shade under $100,000, which was a great deal compared to its most recognized competition of the Lamborghini Gallardo (400HP) at $165k base price and a Ferrari 360 (400 HP) at $150k base price. Now the thing you need to remember is that the Lotus is rated at 350 HP to the rear wheels, so at the crank it puts out more like 375-380 HP. And of course when you start to add on options to your Ferrari or Lamborghini you will see the price hit $200k and more. So for a touch more performance, people were paying nearly double the money. The best part is, the Esprit is far more exclusive then either of these cars. There were only about 10,675 made since 1976 and only about 33 total for 2004. This is a rare piece of Lotus history, and best of all it is in the true Lotus colors, Yellow/Black. This is the final year for the Esprit and 2004 models include Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, and adjustable spring platforms. Updates include stainless steel grilles in front spoiler, restyled rear valence, engine builder's signature on intake plenum, diamond pattern seat stitching, shortened gear lever with brushed aluminum knob, and tire pressure monitor.
