This was the top of the line Jaguar back on 1998, the Vanden Plas has all the options, really nice interior, big back seat with fold down trays, really sharp vehicle. The mileage is low for the year, carfax shows no accidents. The vehicle will need a little TLC which comes with the territory on an old car. The drive train works and car starts right up. I have for sale a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 in the Vanden Plas trim. This car has every available option, including air conditioning, heated front and rear seats, leather, power everything, premium sound system, and 6 disc CD changer. The two rear tires are very new and the front tires have about 60 or 70% tread. This car runs and drives perfectly and as it should. It has the 4.0L V8 paired to the 5 speed automatic transmission. The interior and exterior are in very good condition, as seen in the pictures. This car is a pleasure to drive, with all electronics working perfectly. Some things replaced this summer are the headliner, battery, radiator, upper shock bushings, and new center caps for the rims. The only problems with this car is a very slow coolant leak from a hose and a slight squeaking that happens sometimes from the front left lower shock bushing, which is wearing out. Both are easy fixes, I just don't have the time and soon won't be in town any more. Feel free to ask any questions about the car! It is available for local pickup only, in Long Valley, NJ. Have owned this Jaguar for seven years and it has been a terrific ride..... maintained it at a local Jaguar guru [who replaced many engine components to upgrades], oil changed every 3000 miles, and always garaged. It runs smooth...gets terrific gas mileage on the road [25 mpg].....and is a delight to drive. Just bought a new Jag and I need space in my garage...so have to let this Jag go to a lucky bidder.
