Here is the story on this rare find, purchased new by a north NJ Dentist and gentle enjoyed on the weekends for many years. It was a weekend car but not pampered like the showpiece it is today. After the Dr passed it fell into further disrepair. His wife wanted to restore it and take to FL but those dreams were never realized either. The family wanted to keep the car but ultimately determined it was too big a job to restore so the Jaguar Dealer's Certified Mechanic who took care of the car since new bought it about 8 years ago and is the current owner. The frame-off restoration was finished about 3 years ago and there have been 0 miles put on it since. Car comes with all the service records and the added benefit of the Certified Mechanics intimate knowledge of the car from day one. Everything is original, never in any kind of an accident. 1966 Jaguar, off the road since 1973. I am the second owner of this car, I bought it in High School in 1971. Stored most of it's life indoors. Floors, bulkhead.sills and trunk floor solid. Engine block refinished by Wyandanch Engine Rebuilders on Long Island. No overbore, just a honing crank not cut, just polished. Head by Jag Pro in Wantaugh NY back in the 80s. Engine, Transmission and rear original to this car. Interior was redone by British auto in Manchester New Hampshire. Every single part for this car is included, every chrome strip, all engine compartment accessories like the air intakes, brake reservoirs master and slave cylinders and some of the the interior parts like the shift and radio consoles which have have been In a storage locker since 2000 along with some new parts. Any part that you don't see in the photos is in that storage unit. Some parts of body panels have been replaced ( the driver side sill cap and the trunk floor). There is a small crack in the right front subframe that I found while working on the car. Included is a subframe from a donor Jaguar. Only rust on the vehicle is around the hold where the gas tank protrudes the trunk floor, some surface rust on the trunk lid and the front under bonnet panel. During hurricane Sandy Upper New York Bay and the Hudson river overflowed it's banks and partially submerged the car. I washed it out a few days later. No water got in the engine as it was just rebuilt and the exhaust and intakes were sealed off. New wilton carpets and panels can be cleaned. The car is in Northern New Jersey, just outside on NYC. This low milage car is an easy restoration as every part of this car is included, only 20,019 original miles on the machinery and the metal body is solid. There is no title as cars built before 1974 do not have titles in New York State. I have a transferrable registration in my name from 1973.
