Up for sale is an amazing 1965 International Scout 80. I am a collector of 1960s Scout 80s and this one is by far the cream of the crop. This Scout was traded into a classic car dealer from its original owner, where I purchased it and became the second owner. I'm on to the next toy so time to let her go! This Scout is a clean, straight, rust-free, well maintained and original classic car. I would rate this Scout a 9 out of 10 without any shimmy or shake. She shifts smoothly, steers tight and brakes well. This is a one of a kind, wonderful condition Scout 80 and has Antique Classic Car Status as rated by State Farm. One of the best features is the fold down windshield that gives you the safari look, which was discontinued in late 1965. Please checkout all pictures and see for yourself at how clean this Scout is. An additional 75 high res pictures are available upon request. Details and features are listed below: -New Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate, Bearings and Clutch Slave Assembly-New Rear Crankshaft Seal and Resurfacing of Flywheel-New E-Brake Cables-New Door Hinges & Straps (right & left)-New Fuel Gauge & Choke-New Rear Bumper-New Suspension (all four wheels)-New Window Guide Door Kit (front & rear)-Reupholstered Seats (matching original)-New IH Seat-belts-New Windshield Seals-New Various Clips/Bolts/Screws and Chamber Fluids (as needed)-New Brake Hoses & Readjustment of Brake Shoes-New Lamps & Turn Signals-Original Aspen Blue paint & White Top-Custom Wooden Floorboards for extra protection (not fastened down and are easy to be lifted out if unwanted)-99% Rust Free with No Cancerous Rust-Fold Down "Safari" Windshield -Firestone Radial Tires-Mileage: Original 72,000-4 Cylinder-3spd Manual Transmission - 2wd -Original roll up side windows with Original glass-Original Windshield Glass-Operable Wipers-Original Chrome IH Scout Emblems-New Battery A bit about this 1965 Scout 80:The original owners of this Scout were from outside of Philadelphia, PA and purchased the vehicle new on August 30, 1965 (a copy of the Line Setting Ticket is also included with all of the paperwork). From what I understand from the original owners, this Scout was their family camp car and enjoyed into the early 1980s. After not getting much use, it was then traded into a classic car dealership, where I purchased it from and shipped it out west, where it has lived since. You can see by the many pictures that this Scout has been greatly cared for greatly and serviced regularly.PLEASE NOTE: This Scout is listed on craigslist in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cape Cod, and New York areas. I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Serious buyers/offers only, please. I encourage you to contact me with any questions you may have. Winning bidder please contact me within 24 hours of auction end to make arrangements for payment. A nonrefundable $500.00 deposit is due immediately and the remainder of payment is due within 7 days of auction end. Buyer is responsible for shipping of this Scout once payment has cleared. This Scout is a clean, straight, rust-free, well maintained and original classic car that has had over $6k in documented services which are listed below. The original owners of this Scout were from outside of Philadelphia, PA and purchased the vehicle new on August 30, 1965 (a copy of the Line Setting Ticket is also included with all of the paperwork). I have a pretty awesome 1963 International Harvester Scout 80. California car through and through - black plate special. I would give this a 9 out of 10 on condition and a 9 out of 10 on drivability. I have grown up collecting Scouts and this is the nicest one I have. This girl doesn't get driven as often as I would like to and it is time to let someone else enjoy it. Not many of these original Scouts left and would like it to go to a good home. Details:- Mileage: 53000-4 Cylinder-3spd Manual Transmission-4x4 Hi/Lo-Original Cream/White Paint on exterior-Original Cream/White Paint on interior-Original Upholstery on front seats-Original Seat-belts-Original working radio-Original roll up side windows with Original glass-Original front windshield glass and wipers-Original chrome IH emblems -New Back bench seat w matching black upholstery -Double Gas tank with operable switch-New Battery-New Headlights-Brand new back bench seat w seat belts -New Tires (less than 500 miles on them)-New Brakes-New Gauges - ALL gauges work properly accept gas gauge-Windshield folds down for safari look-Current with registration and ready to drive home-Clear Title in Hand-Missing AshtrayThis Scout has been garaged its entire life in Glendora, CA until recently brought to San Francisco. The original owner, who mostly just drove it to the gun range, passed away and the title was transferred to his brother's name. I am confident the Scout only has an original 52k miles on it due to notations on the dash board about oil changes that I have not cleaned off (see pictures), as well as the overall condition of the truck. There is no rust on the truck. Some surface rust spots have been cleaned up and there are good close up pictures of these under the mats. I did not repair or paint over anything. I have the original line setting ticket as shown in the photos. It had a dealer add on warn overdrive and also the spot light which is removed but have to go with it. The only things that have been done to it are new clutch slave and master, new brakes, rebuilt carb, new fuel pump and switched out the oil bath air cleaner to an air filter as well as regular maintenance. A newly installed sending unit for the fuel gauge was installed but the gauge doesn't work so it is likely the gauge itself. It starts runs and drives amazingly well and will easily do 70 on the freeway (I regularly take it on the highway). To my knowledge and the brother's knowledge, nothing has ever been rebuilt in it. The tires are new and only have 500 miles on them and are mounted on the original rims. I am fairly certain the spare tire is the original tire which is what was on all 5 rims when I bought it. No hub cabs nor are they listed on the LST. I also have the new spring bushings to install but haven't done it yet. I may install them before this listing ends.It drives really well without any shimmy or shake at. Shifts well and tight and runs really well. There are a few slow leaks in various places which is to be expected from these Scouts. This is a one of a kind, original condition Scout 80 and probably one of the cleanest unrestored Scouts still in existence. The paint is incredibly smooth to the touch with no oxidation at all. There is one small dent on the rear corner as shown in the photos and a few scratches. Windshield wipers and heater both work great. Radio works. Window and windshield seals are original. I recently took the top off and there is no rust on any bolt holdings and the original rubber seals are in tact. Windshield also folds down and latches with ease for your safari look - it gets some ridiculous attention wherever I drive it.PLEASE NOTE: This Scout listed on craigslist in the San Francisco Bay Area and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. All sales are final. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. A nonrefundable $1000.00 deposit is due immediately and the remainder of payment is due within 7 days of auction end. If you have any questions, please email/text/call (585-507-9006)! I truly want this Scout to go to a good home. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! Nick
