S120 Vintage International Harvester. Mostly all original w/ the following exceptions: paint work, mirrors, new brakes plus brake booster (anyone familiar w/ drum brakes on an 8,000 lb truck would know why), new locks, new starter, new master brake cylinder, brake pads, battery gauge, engine temp gauge. These are only the things that are easy to mention that I recall. The only item left outstanding is a fuel gauge that doesn't work but was not an issue for us as we used a basic method. This work has taken place over the last 6 months as we took possession of this antique truck whereby we were unaware of it's faults and addressed them as we needed to for the needs of our business. This was/is operated as a coffee truck / espresso van. The conversion of the back of the truck was done by Chameleon Concessions - located in the midwest, they are regarded as the country's premier food truck retro fitter. The time has come to sell my 1988 International custom-built diesel dually. I am selling my antique cars so my wife says I no longer need a cool, bad boy tow vehicle. This truck was originally a box truck to which the former owner fitted a late model F350 dually pickup truck bed. The truck chassis has 220,000 miles, but the motor is re-manufactured Jasper 7.3L International diesel with low miles. The diesel rumbles to life at the touch of the starter and the rear air bag suspension raises the truck from an easy-to-load 27" bed height into a rather menacing stance. This custom pickup always draws a crowd whether we are towing one of our cars to a show or picking up a few sheets of plywood at Home Depot. It runs and drives great, has a heavy-duty tow package with electric brake unit and can pull a house down the road at 70 mph all day. My wife says the air horn can wake the dead! The cab interior has not been customized. It shows the regular signs of wear as a truck would for the miles. The oversized bench seat is worn with a small hole, but some comfy Escalade leather seats would fix that! There is no body rust that I can find except for a few spots of surface rust at the rear window (see pic). It has a low-cost paint job that is shiney, but has lots of overspray, runs, small chips and amateur touch-ups. I just installed new glow plugs, new chrome stack, new front and rear shocks (it needed them!), new brake hoses, new battery, and a new Viair model 092 12 volt air compressor, storage tank, air lines and controls for the air bags and the new air horn. It has air conditioning, but I have never tried it, so I don't know if it works. I do know the heater works.The rear tires should be replaced for winter driving. The next step would be to install air bags on the front axle. That would make it a real low-rider show truck!!! The truck has a GVWR of less than 18,000 lbs (17,998) and hydraulic brakes, so a commercial driver's license (CDL) is not required. Additionally, it is registered and insured as a 1988 International pickup, not a commercial truck. Check out all the pictures and take a video test drive!!!! Please read the "Seller's Payment Instructions" before you bid! This is a binding legal contract. (It's probably a good idea to ask your wife too. Don't ask me how I know!) This is in red to let you know it is important. This is a "no warranty, as is where is" sale. I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with the truck. I would drive it anywhere. But, if you find out it needs something it becomes your cost.Any problems that you discover do not warrant return or reduction of the sale price. P.S. If you like the truck but long for the comfort of an automatic transmission, I will be listing in a separate Ebay auction a rebuilt 6 speed Allison automatic transmission that is a "bolt-in" I bought for this truck. HERE IS MY OWN DAILY DRIVER SCOUT II FROM ABOUT 2002-2007. IT IS A 1980 SCOUT II (WITH 1979 GRILLE) BUILT 6/12/1980, AND THE NISSAN SD33T TURBOCHARGED DIESEL ENGINE. FOUR SPEED T-19 CLOSE RATIO TRANSMISSION WITH DANA 300 TRANSFER CASE. HAS 3.73 GEARS IN BOTH DANA 44 AXLES FRONT AND REAR. IT STILL HAS THE DESIRABLE 1980 DANA 44 FRONT AXLE WITH IMPROVED DRIVABILITY AND DISC BRAKES REGARDLESS OF ITS 1979 GRILLE APPEARANCE. IT HAS 95,503 MILES WHICH ARE BELIEVED TO BE ACTUAL BUT CANNOT BE VERIFIED. MECHANICALLY THIS SCOUT WAS 100% RELIABLE. I HAD TAKEN IT ON MANY LONG TRIPS IN ADDITION TO IT BEING MY DAILY DRIVER. IT NEVER LEFT ME BROKEN DOWN OR STRANDED. THE SD33T ENGINE IS A VERY GOOD ONE AND HAS MANY MORE MILES LEFT. THE DRIVETRAIN WAS 100% STOCK WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND MOSTLY STILL IS TODAY. THE ONLY UPGRADES TO THE ENGINE WERE A K&N AIR FILTER, 3 INCH STRAIGHT THRU EXHAUST. THE ENGINE HAS NEVER BEEN "TURNED UP" OR MODIFIED IN ANY OTHER WAY. I BELIEVE THIS IS THE KEY TO THE LONGEVITY OF THE SD33T ENGINE. THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR ARE STILL IN RELATIVELY GOOD APPEARANCE. IT WAS REPAINTED AROUND 2005 AND STORED INSIDE THE ENTIRE TIME IVE OWNED IT UP UNTIL ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO. IT HAS A FULL CARPET INTERIOR. SINCE IT WAS MY DAILY DRIVER, I WENT TO GREAT LENGTHS FOR SOUND AND HEAT INSULATION IN THE INTERIOR. I WANTED IT TO BE AS QUIET INSIDE AS I COULD MAKE IT. PLEASE NOTE INTERIOR PICTURES, NON STOCK HEADLINER, DOOR PANELS AND INTERIOR SIDE PANELS COVERED WITH CUT PILE THIN CARPET FOR MAXIMUM SOUD DEADENING. I DID THE WHOLE INTERIOR MYSELF AND IT TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD AND DID A GOOD JOB OF KEEPING THE NOISE DOWN. AROUND 2007 THE CLUTCH WAS GETTING WEAK SO THE PLAN WAS TO PULL THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, DO THE CLUTCH JOB AND AN EXTENDED MAINTENANCE ON THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE TRAIN. AT THE SAME TIME I WAS GOING TO REPAINT THE UNDER SIDE OF THE HOOD AND INNER FENDERS AS WELL AS THE ENGINE ITSELF. I DID NOT GET MUCH FURTHER THAN REMOVING JUST A FEW OF THE UNDER HOOD COMPONENTS. AROUND THAT TIME MY BUSINESS TOOK OFF AND THE SCOUT NEVER GOT ANY MORE ATTENTION. CURRENTLY THE SCOUT AS NOT BEEN STARTED SINCE 2007. ENGINE IS FREE AND I WILL GUARANTEE WITH A BATTERY AND FUEL, IT WILL RUN. CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING! THE NEW OWNER OF THE SCOUT CAN OBVIOUSLY GO WHATEVER DIRECTION THEY WOULD LIKE WITH IT. ONE COULD SIMPLY PUT THE CLUTCH IN IT THAT IT NEEDED WHEN IT WAS PARKED AND START RUNNING IT AGAIN. KEEP IN MIND THAT FROM SITTING IT COULD USE BRAKE COMPONENTS. TO GET THIS SCOUT GOING AGAIN IT WILL NEED THE CLUTCH JOB AND BRAKES. THAT SHOULD BE ALL. THE BAD: IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THIS SCOUT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF DOING A RESTORATION, HERE ARE THE BAD SPOTS. INNER FENDERS ARE RUSTY. CENTER BODY MOUNTS ARE REALLY RUSTY. FRONT BODY MOUNTS ARE JUST FAIR. FRONT FLOORS HAVE SOME PREVIOUS PATCHES. LOWER QUARTER PANELS HAVE PATCHES AND SOME OF THE BODY WORK IS STARTING TO SHOW. THE "DOG LEG" AREA OF THE DOORS ARE RUSTY. THE GOOD. THIS SCOUT HAS EXCELLENT STEEL FRONT FENDERS, VERY VERY NICE RUST FREE HARD TOP, LIFT GATE AND TAILGATE. HARD TO FIND FIBERGLASS WINDSHIELD FRAME. HAS A ROCK SOLID AND DESIRABLE DRIVETRAIN.
