1979 Scout II, SSII, 345 V-8, 4-speed manual, 4WD, pwr steering, pwr brakes, A/C This '79 Scout II came out of the factory as an SSII. The second owner completed a frame off restoration in 1999-2000 which included: -Factory hard top to replace SSII soft top. -Standard Scout II doors to replace SSII doors. -Standard Scout II grille to replace SSII grille. -New paint (factory color metallic brown.) -Rhino Lined floor boards and under body. -Weber carburator. -Re-upholstered original rear bench seat. -Replaced factory front seats with Corbeau bucket seats. -Custom upholstered door panels. -Custom botton in removeable black carpeting. -Stereo speakers mounted in custom panels. -Air conditioner I purchased the vehicle in 2003 and added some further upgrades which included: -Powertrax rear locking differential. -BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A tires (31x10.5) on American Racing wagon wheels. (Same size wheels and tires that would have come standard on Ralley package in '79.) -Rear disc brakes with brake booster pump and stainless lines. -Polyethylene fuel tank. -Powder coated the original roll bar. -ARB differential covers front and rear. -3 point seat belts in front. New lap belts in rear. -Rear hitch. -Retro Sounds stereo head unit. -Ralley stripes. -Stock center console with new cup holder lid. I have maintained regular oil changes (Mobil 1 oil) and have only used premium fuel. 79,000 miles on odometer. Current PA state inspection. This Scout is a pleasure to drive either with the hard top on or off. It has many safety and performance upgrades but still maintains the original look of an all stock Scout. Great as a vacation home vehicle or daily driver.
