1947 Ford Custom Pickup "Henry's Nightmare" Now known as "Henry's Nightmare," this ‘47 Ford pickup was professionally built by Tempe, Arizona's Bob Harrell at Harrell's Hot Rod Garage. Completed in 2012, it is a one-of-a-kind piece of rolling art with too many excellent body tweaks to fully list, it includes shaved moldings, welded seams, hidden hinges, a fabricated rear roll pan, custom aluminum bed flooring, wheel tubs, and aluminum front-fender wells.   The pickup's unique stance and outstanding presence is courtesy of a Chris Alston chassis and modern underpinnings including stainless-steel A-arms, coil-over shocks, and a narrowed rear four-link. The laser-straight body is finished in deep black topped by Candy Orange marbleized graphics applied by Bob Harrell, who was taught by the late Corky Larson of Phoenix, Arizona. Interior and exterior pin striping was executed by Efrain Gonzalez from Bug's Auto Art in Mesa, Arizona. From there to the engine-turned gas cap, detailing is simply exceptional with pure "hot rod" attitude throughout the build.     Henry’s original “Flathead” was replaced by a 545 cubic-inch Ford big-block topped with a Hilborn EFI system. Producing an estimated 800 hp with an intimidating look and sound, the engine’s spent gases are routed through custom headers and a 3-inch exhaust system. A Ron Davis Racing aluminum radiator ensures cool running. Excellent details include ARP 12-point stainless-steel bolts outside the engine and cool CNC-machined "Ford" scripts on the rocker covers. A 3,500-stall C-6 automatic transmission sends power to an aluminum driveshaft and fabricated Ford 9-inch rear end housing.     The handsome 1950s style interior was trimmed by Peoria, Arizona's Hot Rod Interiors by Glen Kramer, featuring pleated Tan upholstery and German square-weave carpeting. Other touches include a three-spoke Halibrand leather-wrapped stainless-steel steering wheel, iconic “Mooneye” gauges, and a piston-topped shift knob with everything flowing together very nicely into a well-integrated overall package including tasteful pinstripe accents. American Racing Salt Flat wheels provide a perfect crowning touch.   Show accolades include the Goodguys 2012 and 2013 Flowmaster American Thunder Award, Goodguys 2012 Hot Hauler award, and Second Place at the 2013 Grand National Roadster Show in the "Street Machine/Custom Rod" class. At the invitation-only Copperstate 1000, “Henry’s Nightmare” was the Mothers Waxes and Polishes Display Truck. Built to maintain its timeless lines with emphasis on modern-day drivability, performance, and reliability with virtually no possible expense spared, this cool proven show winner is simply a “must see”.
