Model OverviewThe main Mustang lineup remains offered in Base, Premium, GT, GT Premium and Shelby GT500 versions, with Coupe and Convertible versions of each trim. Coupe models get a 50/50-split fold-down back seat to accommodate larger cargo, and the trunk is surprisingly spacious. Convertible models give up some seating space in back, but they still have ample space to either cruise with back-seat passengers or tote around the baggage for a weekend road trip. The Convertible's soft top is power-operated and quite simple to operate, stowing in less space than retractable hardtop designs. It's also surprisingly quiet inside with the top up. Even base Mustangs come with cruise control, keyless entry, power windows, locks, and mirrors and Ford's customizable MyKey system. Premium models add 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, upgraded leather bucked seats, upgraded trim, an ambient lighting system and a premium Shaker audio system with satellite radio and Sync Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and audio connectivity. The 2012 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 remains the highest-performance street version of the Mustang. It's powered by a 550-hp, 5.4L supercharged V8, with a 6-speed manual gearbox, 4-wheel vented disc brakes with Brembo front calipers, a stainless-steel exhaust, and other upgrades and comes with most of the same interior features as Premium models. Ford has tested it to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. In the Boss 302, the GT's engine has been given revised camshafts, boosting power to 440 hp. It also has a special intake system and new quad exhausts to reduce backpressure. To help handle the power and the demands of the track, the Boss 302 gets a stronger clutch for its short-throw, close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox and the Boss 302 gets a 3.73 performance rear axle and limited-slip rear differential. To aid handling, the Boss 302 gets adjustable shocks, stiffer anti-roll bars and stiffer springs. Unique traction and stability controls and special 19-inch black-painted lightweight alloy racing wheels and Pirelli PZero summer performance tires round out the package and eleven pounds of sound insulation are removed, compared to other Mustang models. Additionally, a Torsen limited-slip rear differential and Recaro sport seats are offered together in an option package.A Laguna Seca package for the Boss 302 brings an even more serious package, deleting the back seat entirely and adding Recaro cloth sport seats, brake cooling ducts, a front air splitter, the Torsen limited-slip differential, a gauge package and further changes to springs, wheels and tires. The rest of the Mustang lineup returns with either a 305-hp, 3.7L V6 or a 412-hp, 5.0L V8. V6 and GT models can both be had with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Across the entire Mustang lineup for 2011, steering effort is now driver-selectable; with comfort, normal and sport modes, the electric power steering system. A host of trim and appearance options, such as special wheels and paint striping, can give the Mustang an individual appearance. The 1969 Trans Am Boss 302 mustang production ran from April 19, 1969 to July 18, 1969 producing only 1,628 cars. Only 4 colors were offered, yellow being the most dominant...649 to be exact. Coral, blue and white were the other colors. Comparing the 1969 Boss 302 to the 1965 GT 350 they only made 562 GT 350's. In 1966 they produced well over two thousand Shelby's. In 1970 Ford produced over seven thousand Boss 302's. Very few options were made available for the Boss 302 Mustang. This car was featured in the new Donald Farr's Boss 302 book. In the photograph, you will see all 4 colors of the Boss 302's. This yellow 1969 Boss 302 was restored completely. It is extremely solid. It's had new quarters put on by the previous owner. The fit & finish is extremely nice. The interior is very original "standard black 2A." The engine is an original C8FE Block with the original crank, rods & cam. The heads have been completely gone through & they are C9ZE heads. It's been balanced with the original C9ZE flywheel. It does not have the original distributor nor does it have smog pump. Carburetor is the original 780 holley "J code." Transmission is not the original that came with the car, it is not VIN stamped, but it is an original top loader. It has a performance clutch and pressure plate so the pedal is a stiffer than normal. Rear gear is all fresh traction loc 31 spline 3.50. It has F60 Goodyear Polyglas tires with argent silver Magnum 500 wheels. It has the original spindles, front & rear springs, which are unique to the 69 Boss 302's. The car has exactly 136,910 miles on the odometer, but only 140 miles since restoration. It runs extremely smooth, but only gets trailered to shows. The attached invoice & deluxe report shows what options are original on this car, such as P/S, rear slats, & rear spoiler. The antenna on the rear quarter, there is a document on the car dating back to the '80's stating that the antenna was on the original quarter panel. When the cars were shipped from Ford to the dealer the antenna and rear front spoiler were shipped in the car and installed at the dealer and could be installed on any panel at owners request. As for the '69 Shelby roll bar the previous owner installed it. When the car was restored I decided to leave it in the car may not be original but it looks good. The final paint job, code 9 is painted with acrylic enamel with no clear coat to give it an original look. (Diztler Delstar) Also included with the car is an 18x30 plexi glass framed car show sign, two folding yellow chairs and an original 20x30 poster of the published photoof the four color Boss 302's. Recently as of October 2014 a yellow 1969 Boss 302 sold at Barrett Jackson for 88 K.It had radial tires, the springs had been changed. It had a '70 Hurst shifter handle, a Cougar console arm rest pad, no tach. These are just a few of the items that were not correct on this car that sold.
