This Mustang is 1 out of 1028 Pacific Green and Saddle interior Cobra coupes made in 1997. The car was ordered with every available option; preferred equipment package 250a which included the Mach 460 Sound system with Cassette, CD player, and Anti-Theft System including factory wheel lock kit. Also as an option was the rear spoiler. Window tint was completed by original owner during his residence in Arizona. 1997 was the last year before some minor cost cutting was made to the entire Mustang model lineup; namely the separate clock pod on the dash and the under hood strut tower brace, among other smaller items.I have the original window sticker, all manuals, SVT supplements, SVT showroom brochure, SVT signed certificate, SVT owner’s magazines, original dealership purchase documents, copy of original title, interior and exterior protection package literature, two original keys and fobs, factory build sheet (found under the spare tire), fuel mileage logs, maintenance records, etc. This Cobra is all original, stock, unmodified down to the factory exhaust-- respectfully driven and enjoyed vehicle by both myself and the original owner. It’s becoming harder and harder to find a Cobra of this vintage in good condition as well as never modified or abused. I may regret selling it, but need to make room as I would like to find a 2003 Cobra in the same condition to replace it.This car has always been garaged and has only seen any weather a handful of times--a true enthusiast quality vehicle. Driven between May-October each year and has only seen rain a handful of times since I owned it. I have only put 7K miles on it in 8 years. It’s been meticulously cared for in both maintenance and cleanliness by the original owner and myself. Non-smoker, no animal or kid vehicle.Original owner purchased the vehicle new from Team Ford in Sioux City, IA in 1998. I have all original documents when I purchased it, including the title and disclosure from the original owner the car had never incurred body work. Neither has it been involved in any accidents while in my care. All original factory VIN labels are present on each body panel. The car has a few light dings and paint chips, but they are well below typical of a car that is 18 years old. Most notable but barely show in pictures are a few dings on the roof, one in the trunk lid, one near the passenger side rear wheel vent, one in the driver’s door and one in the rear driver’s quarter panel. They could all be easily be taken out by dentless repair, but like the original owner, I did not have the heart to have the door panels and headliner removed to fix them. Rock chips are also typical in nature at the leading edge of the hood, and one in the driver’s fender. I did have the front bumper professionally repainted a few years ago to eliminate the front license bracket holes and any rock chips that were present, but I made sure the VIN label was preserved on the bumper. The only items I have replaced on the vehicle are the shocks, springs, tires, and battery because of age and wear. The suspension package was bought through Ford Racing and professionally installed by a Ford mechanic; and I have retained all original suspension parts that were replaced. The battery is Ford Motorcraft in the original size. The tires are BFGoodrich G-Force KDW in P245/45R17 and were mounted and road force balanced by Tire Rack in South Bend, IN. The make and model of this tire is the closest replacement to the BFGoodrich Comp T/A tire that came from the factory on this vehicle. Tires have 85% tread life remaining and have been rotated this season. A few of the rims have slight curb rash on the lip of the rim, center caps have a few pry marks from inexperienced mechanics over the years which is typical of these cars. I have a few used replacement center caps to go with the car but they need some polishing to get the light scratches out.The condition of the interior is the absolute standout item of this car; it’s very close to brand new after all these years. Leather is perfect considering its age and interior still smells new. Carpets and original floormats are very clean; headliner is perfect, trunk liner and covers are all intact. Dashboard and steering wheel are flawless. Radio buttons have very little wear. Passenger and rear seats have rarely ever been sat in. The engine runs strong and the entire car mechanically functions like the day it was made back in December of ‘96. Engine bay looks like new; very clean and stock down to the original 1997 date coded spark plug wires. Engine proudly displays the signed names of the assemblers of the hand built engine. Premium fuel 91+ octane has always been used in the car since it was new. Brake fluid and engine coolant were both flushed a few years ago. Fuel stabilizer, battery maintainer and multiple preservation steps have been taken on the car while in off season storage each year.No notable leaks, no warning lights and the underside of the vehicle is in above average condition for its age. Oil and filter gets changed with Ford Motorcraft 5W30 and FL-820S at the end of every season regardless of mileage. Transmission and clutch action is smooth and fluid. Every electrical accessory works; A/C blows ice cold, power seat and lumbar works, and the Mach 460 sound system as well as the CD player works great and has no blown speakers. The car needs nothing at this time and I would not hesitate to drive it across country. Not many ’97 Mustangs of this caliber are left!I have the title in hand in my name and vehicle is free of any liens or encumbrances. Title will be held until fund clearance is verified.
