1980 DATSUN 510 BROWN WAGON W/ ENGINE SWAP (NISSAN)***********MECHANICS SPECIAL************ This is a Brown, moderately beat up 1980 Datsun 510 Station Wagon, We are the second owners, and it had a Nissan Z20 Rebuilt engine swap in 2000, with all records to prove! Although the odometer was not changed, the paperwork shows clearly that the engine only has about 30,000 miles on it (As it sat for 8 years shortly after the swap). Following is ALL pertinent information we have about it, as honest as we can be, to ensure a FAIR SALE. PROS:-Recently replaced Alternator and belt-Just replaced Clutch Slave Cylinder (last month, OCT.)-ALSO REPLACED CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER (OCT.)-Just replaced brakes and one rotor-Tires aren't great, two had slow leaks and are flat, but one of them is brand new-Full size spare-Runs like a champ-The minimal rust spots are not severe.-Heater works-Changed Head/Valve cover gasket a year ago-Does not burn excessive oil at all-Gets great gas mileage, whether in city or highway-Has been routinely maintained (although right now it is definitely due for an oil change)-Has all documents of work that has been done to it-Is mostly all original components in interior and most of engine-Brand new battery, as of 3 months-All doors and windows are intact and working (except that the passenger window has come off its -runner, so you can't roll it down without it falling into the door) EASY FIX-4-Speed Manual Transmission-Road ready: all lights, signals, wipers work. No electrical issues.-Exterior chrome trim is all either there or we have them to put back on.-Locking gas cap with keys-Has always started right up and had no major issues-All gauges except for the temp gauge work-Exterior body and paint does not have any MAJOR dents or blemishes. but a LOT of smaller ones (they do add up :/)CONS: (THIS IS WHY WE SAY MECHANIC'S SPECIAL, ALTHOUGH IT BARELY QUALIFYS)-Although we have now replaced THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER, we are not experienced mechanics and cannot identify exactly why it still won't go into gear (This is an easy fix for those who know what they are doing, we assume we possibly left something incomplete during the process)-Interior roof lining is torn up-Hatchback door does not latch completely and sits somewhat askew because of misaligned hinge-windshield must be resealed (weather strip) There are leaks that come out under the dash due to the seal that it currently has.-Passenger side window is simply off its runner-Three of the tires are old and cracked somewhat, and should probably be replaced-Was victim of a catalytic converter thief, so exhaust system is gone all the way up .WE HAVE ALL THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THIS REPAIR AS WELL, and they will come with the car.-Both Front seats' upholstery has rips and tears, driver's seat could use a little padding.-No stereo that is hooked up and no speakers-Back interior is torn up a quite a bit (we've been using it like a truck for the past few months, scrap metal loads and such) We're talking rips in the back floor lining, loose rubber seal for hatchback door (needs glued on is all), scratches and such on plastic components, and many tears on the roof lining.-Tabs just recently expired, Clean Title!-Exterior paint has consistent scratching from loading on roof, especially, and hood....but no major dents. Very restorable, still. -Two tires are currently flat due to slow leaks. OVERALL, the repairs needed are quite minor and generally straightforward and simple for the trained professional. For Datsun/Nissan lovers, this car is a MUST see, and would make a great and easy project. It will need to be towed on a flat bed. The flat tires can be pumped up.

I bought this car 3 years ago and it has been sitting in storage for the most part since then. I’m unsure as to the history of the car so I am posting what the original seller had in his ad along with more specifics. Parts of this car look great while others could use some work, finish it to suit your taste. I want this to get back into someone’s hands who will finish and use it! It looks straight but does need some work, the exterior is pretty good looking but the recent paint is not great and rough in places. The car sounds amazing, runs great and drives fair besides a rear end thud and keeping in mind it’s 50 years old and mostly original, all lights and gauges work! Smooth shifting original 4 speed trans with Centerforce clutch and 280zx LSD differential." "I was told by the previous owner that the A/C system the car has was a dealership option back in the 70's. It's a Frigette Custom unit and runs on R12 refrigerent. It needs to be recharged again because it only blows slightly cool. The seatbelts in the car are also very rare, they are original Takata shoulder & lap belts built especially for vintage 240z." - there is no compressor installed on this car NEEDS: The car looks to be largely original and could use some suspension freshening, new bushings, rear brakes adjusted, and new slave cylinder as it looks to have a tiny leak at the seal. I think the rear end needs work as there is a large thud when cutting the load at speed, and again when disengaging the clutch at speed. Transmission is also original. The driver’s side floor and floor support appear to be in good shape though they are dented from bad jack placement from previous owners, the passenger side floor needs replacing as it is original and located under the heater core that may have leaked at one point (currently disconnected thought heater hose connections are included). Floor support on passenger side also needs replacing due to rust and can be seen in the underside photos (see link). There is also a painted over rust hole on the driver’s side above the floor support behind the front wheel that looks like it could easily be repaired (see photos). Bumpers are included in the sale but need to be re-chromed, the rear is in fair shape but the front has a crack and will need to be straightened and repaired. Interior is largely original with the exception of full new dash cap (dash has large crack), the deleted radio, cut door cards for speakers (not hooked up), alarm (not hooked up) and aftermarket wheel and shifter. The headliner is starting to droop, the seats have rips that need repair (brand new dragon automotive seat covers included ~$500) and it could use updated carpets with modern insulation as the old insulation is messy. Rear hatch seals are new but main seal needs to be re-glued before seeing any rain. EXTRAS: Bumpers included, heater core hoses (currently disconnected), Dragon Automotive seat covers (2), wipers, car cover. Up for sale is my 1972 Datsun 510. This car has an interesting history, it was ordered new by an old lady in a small town in Idaho. The story goes the only way she would buy a 510 is if she could get it orange with white interior and a white vinyl top. The car no longer has the vinyl top, it was removed somewhere along the way and painted white. But the color combination is still rare. I am the second owner. The paint is original, and has been buffed out. There are alot of scratches and dings, no major dents. The passenger rear door was backed into and replaced which is why the color on that door is a little off (no damage was done to anything else but the door). There is no carpet in the car, the car had torn up red 280zx seats in it when I got it, so I replaced them with some period correct buckets that would look great if they were reupholstered. The door panels are in decent shape but not great, the rear seat is also original and torn up. It has a 240z wheel, and the dash is cracked. There are scratches in the front glass but no chips or cracks in any of the glass. The front facia is a little beat up, there was no front bumper on the car when I got it, and the rear bumper was rusty, I do have the rear bumper though. The car is what it is as you can see. The car shows around 92,000 miles, and runs like a top. Recent work done: new tune up set, plugs wires ect, new head gasket, new top end gaskets, head was cleaned checked and resurfaced, valves have all been adjusted to factory spec, weber carb has been rebuilt and tuned. The car is an automatic, and shifts great. This is my wife and I's daily driver and it's been a great car, I would feel comfortable driving the car anywhere. It attracts SO much attention everywhere it goes. Very fun to drive. The floors and trunk are original and completly solid, the ONLY rust in the car is what's pictured in the rockers and drivers rear fender. Very solid, great start to a restoration, custom build or driver as is! New tires, new pads, new master, new gas tank, new lines, new filter, new fluids. Well taken care of. Lights, blinkers, wipers, horn work. There are no working interior lights besides the console, washers don't work. I think I've covered everything but feel free to ask any question! This is a good restorable 240z, some rust bubbles in the quarters and rockers, rust in the battery tray as usual, the car has obviously been repainted and had a couple repairs in the past. Hello and thank-you for viewing my listing! For sale is my 1979 Gold Nissan/Datsun 280ZX with only 99,402 The title is clean and the car belonged to my father-in-law before he passed away. The coupe is a 5-Speed, with a 1.68L 6-cylinder fuel injected engine. I have been working extensively on this car over the last year to get it sale-ready. A good "20-footer," the 280ZX has been recently tuned up, as well as had a new battery, new front brakes, a new water pump and coolant, new spark plugs, and new hubcaps installed as well as having a recent oil change. Features of the car include: power steering and power brakes (including a 4-wheel disc braking system), electric mirrors, A/C and heating, and AM/FM radio. Additionally, the tires are in good condition with lots of tread. The Datsun has no major issues with the exception of the air conditioner needing recharged. The car has current registration and tags (as of 2015). The interior is in good condition with only some minor tears and stains (see pictures), and the car runs and drives great.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This auction is for an original, numbers-matching, 3-owner classic 1972 Datsun 240Z four-speed Sports Coupe with 95,611 original miles. This little beauty is in excellent turnkey running and driving condition. It is a local car with full history since new. The third owner was a woman who inherited it from her brother, who purchased it from the original owner in the early 80’s. She has used it sparingly as a second car, and has maintained it religiously... oil changes, brake and tune-up services, etc. The miles are original; the odometer has not rolled over. The car originally came from the factory painted in Yellow, code 112 (also referred to as Lime Green); it is now Wine Red Metallic (another factory color). The body is very straight with only a couple dents. There is NO outer-body rust-through to be found. There is minor evidence of surface rust beginning around rear hatch window (as shown in pictures). While the paint shows well in the pictures, it is in fact an older paint job, showing oxidation on the hood and roof (again, as shown in pictures). Overall, the paint remains shiny and sound, and is most certainly usable as a driver-quality paint job as-is. That said, this car is an excellent candidate for a full restoration, as the original color is very interesting and not often seen today. The glass is excellent all around and the windows operate as they should. The interior is completely original, with the exception of a high-quality aftermarket stereo system in working order. The driver’s seat has two small tears in the upholstery; the passenger seat has one small tear... they are all very minor and the seats present well just as they are. The dash pad has been protected from the sun and is perfect; no cracks at all. The gauges likewise are excellent and all in proper working order. The center console is nice, and features an aftermarket sit-in-place armrest with padded lid... it lifts right off if you prefer the stock look, but as a practical matter it makes driving the car much nicer to have the arm rest. The heater and rear defrost both work properly, as does the balance of the electrical system... lights, turn signals, flashers, wipers, etc. All in working order. Even the cabin courtesy light and glove box light work as they should. The original wood steering wheel is missing the center horn button; that is about the worst that can be said of the interior... overall it is quite nice. The car is completely original under the hood, and has received a recent full service and tune, including rebuilding and synchronizing the original carburetors, new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, engine oil changed, and a brand-new clutch installed. The engine runs like a top from off idle to redline. Cold starting in the morning is easy, as the factory manual choke is present and operates as it should. The original 4-speed transmission shifts perfectly, and the car sounds great with a new exhaust system. The brakes have also been recently gone through; the car is a turnkey runner/driver reliable enough for daily use if you choose. Unfortunately, the original wheels were stolen right off the car not long ago. The upside is that it now as brand-new aftermarket aluminum wheels with decent radial tires. They'll get you around until you find exactly what you want. In keeping with full disclosure of everything I know and have found out about the car, it formerly had minor rust in the D/S floorboard area that was removed and repaired properly. The driver’s door handle is a little sticky and requires a full pull to open the door. The above, and the oxidized paint on the hood and roof are the only real negatives I can find on the car. Overall, I think you’ll agree it is not only a sound and honest car, but also a tremendous value as priced. While not a 100-point perfect car, this is a very, very nice survivor that you can afford to buy, drive, and enjoy without spending thirty thousand dollars. $6,500.00 cash, or very close reasonable offer.
