Up for sale is a well maintained 1982 Mercedes 380se. Listed as a 1980 due to ebay's issue with this car being an European or "grey market" car. I recently purchased the car from a local physician that has owned it since 1987. She maintained it religiously but finally decided that it was time to purchase a newer model. The odometer quit years ago at 350k plus miles. The a/c system was gone through this past summer which involved installing a new compressor. New Michelins were installed this past July. The car runs/drives well. All windows and vacuum locks work. No rust present. Paint is weak on the roof and trunk. The interior looks great! The 80's vintage Blaupunkt powers up but has difficulty pulling in stations. Overall, a cool old car that I would feel comfortable driving on a regular basis. Thank you for taking the time to look at my ad. I saved the ol' girl from being cut up and sold for parts so she could ride once again. This is a rare Eldo as only 2000 of these were made in 1978 to commemorate the end of the big Eldo's. Out of the 2000, 475 had an electric astro roof, and this has one, and it works(needs new button though! The windows and locks work as well, as does the horn(has been disconnected). That is where my hands on knowledge ends on what works. I was told the car ran not too long ago.There is no radiator and it needs one. It also needs a new ignition switch, steering wheel and steering wheel parts, body work from rust(on sides and in trunk), 1 hubcap(the three I have are in good shape), and whatever else she may need. It is a total restoration and the price to purchase reflects that. I really want her to go to a good home where she can be restored and receive good care and reconditioning. I did buy brand new gold Cadillac keys for her as well as a new battery. All glass is good, back seats in good shape. I pulled up the carriage top around the edges to make sure there was not any additional rust, and there was not. I do NOT have the original keys, and the title is bonded in my name(purchased from a man who won it in a storage auction so I had no choice but to go bonded for 3 years). Pretty much what you see is what you get. I can send you pictures of the rust, just send me a message and I will gladly send,. All reasonable offers will be considered. Located in Pearland, Texas, just south of Houston. I do have my own car hauler, so I can possibly deliver within a 3 to 400 mile radius for a fair price. Lastly, I cannot stress enough that this is a project car. With any car, there are always surprises, good and bad so be prepared. She sat in a storage unit for a while so anything could be possible.
