2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG! Jet Black with Charcoal Leather Interior! This is a spectacular example of this model on the road today. This was MB’s first mass produced high powered production car, referred to at the time as the German Rocket. Its chassis was designed after the F1 race cars. This is a true Factory AMG vehicle, not a 320/430 model with AMG stickers. It is superbly equipped with: AMG exhaust, AMG Brakes, AMG Steering, AMG Suspension, AMG Instrument Cluster, and AMG Modified Engine. Black Burl Wood Package, A/C, Heated Seats, Sunroof, 6 CD Changer, leather seating, 17” AMG Monoblock rims have been upgraded to 5 spoke AMG 18”. Bose Sound, 10 speakers, tinted windows, rear powered shade, Xenon headlights, fog lights, and more! This beautiful, showroom car also has many driving and safety features you've come to expect from a Mercedes-Benz: four-wheel ABS brakes, AMG Rotors and calipers, AMG Dual tip exhaust, electronic traction control, responsive suspension, multi-link front and rear suspension independent with coil springs. This vehicle is a true head turner and is ready to be driven. The AMG experience in this stunning black beauty is a thrill, it really evokes driving emotions. I am the true second owner and I purchase this AMG from an MB dealer as certified. It was a demo model driven by the dealer’s owner. This car has spent all its life in a garage, never stored outside and never driven in snow. The paint is beautiful shiny. It has only been hand washed and detailed with Zymol products. There are some paint chips on the hood that is normal to a car driven in the highway. There is light scratch on the driver side rear quarter panel, but barely visible. Included with the sale is the OEM rims, are original to the vehicle and have slight road rash but no major gouges or damage. Buyer responsible for shipping of vehicle and wheels. There is even a new full spare tire in trunk with a MB tool kit. I just upgraded to a new set of 18” C63 5 spoke rims and tires. The grille has been also upgraded to a more contemporary grille and AMG hood emblem too. The original grille and 3-pointed MB emblem is included. It really makes this car look even more awesome… This is car has been dealer maintained. Oil changes are with Mobil 1 0W40 and only Mobil Premium gas used. There is absolutely nothing major mechanically malfunctioning. I recently had the following service performed: New AMG brakes, rotors, pads, calipers. New Ultra High Performance Tires with less than 1000 miles. New rear differential seals, new battery, new air flow sensor, 4 wheel alignment, new fuel filler cap, rear MB shock absorber, all new backlit bulbs on the instrument cluster, every exterior bulb from front to rear replaced, new serpentine belt, windshield pump, and wiper. I also upgraded the front parking lights to L.E.D. The car is professionally maintained. All the proper and all necessary maintenance is done. The engine has two K & N air filters. They are reusable filters, which is washable and then re-oiled. I bought this car in 2002 with about 10,000 miles. This car was mostly driven on highway for leisure on weekend getaway trips. It’s super comfortable. Also, the kick off power is instant, you’ll never get bored of it. The engine is a 5.5 liter V-8. Real power. No delay. 342 stock HP!!! It’s got a very throaty growl when you accelerate…you hear the power. It’s not from a tuned exhaust or manufactured, its real AMG horses growling. I had installed OEM MB Chrome headlight rings which gives another added touch of distinction. The Xenon headlights are protected with 3M’s clear lens covers. I have the 2 original keys and all manuals. I’m selling this car because I bought another car and I don’t use this car much. It has been in my indoor garage. I also have a battery charger hooked up, so the battery is freshly charged. No dash cracks, leather is perfect. It’s all mint. Trunk is clean, and the car smells like a Benz. I’m not a smoker, so no smoke in the car. The car had a very minor front end hit, so a new bumper and new fog lights replaced by the MB body shop. The engine compartment is super clean…not a scratch; the AMG valve cover is new too! I just loved this car and wanted it to be perfect. Unique features: - single wiper, very cool to see it work. - OEM MB hood emblem. -Italian soft leather wrap placed on the steering wheel to give a sportier and juicier grip. -Its hardwired for Valentine 1 radar detector (seen in photo but not included in sale). I have a lot of little goodies too: original books, catalogs, paperwork, custom made car bra, brand new MB OEM AMG floor mats they are difficult to get and cost over $325 for the set of four. I will throw this all this in with my asking price, otherwise if a lower price is negotiated then these item and OEM rims will not be included and will be sold separately. I’m pretty firm on the price because I really cared and took care of this car. I want the new owner to appreciate the completeness of the car. This sports coupe is nearly showroom condition and it's the best driving car that I have ever been in. I was able to drive it occasionally for my work and it was mostly highway miles. This Mercedes has always been stored in the winter and has never seen snow or salt. I just don't want to see it sit in the garage the rest of the year as well. The 2001 CLK55 was the fastest production car that Mercedes ever sold in the US. The 5.5L 24 valve SMPI aluminum alloy V8 engine produces 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 170mph. Even with all of that power I have been getting around 25 mpg on the highway. This Mercedes is beautifully appointed and, with such low mileage and comprehensive maintenance, it still drives and handles like new. I have used Mobil 1 0W40 full synthetic oil, K&N filters, and only Mercedes approved fluids. Schedule B maintenance was just completed and the battery was recently replaced. This Mercedes comes with your choice of wheels. The AMG 17" Monoblock wheels or the 18” C63 5 spoke black. The A/C and everything else works on this Mercedes and there are no leaks or squeaks. It is ready to be driven anywhere across the country. There is absolutely zero rust on this car, no dings or dents, and hardly a mark anywhere. The title is clear. This CLK55 is fully loaded with every option available at the time. It is also a special edition with two tone Armani hand stitched leather interior. I believe that there were only 100-200 like these produced in 2001. Another thing that I have appreciated about this era of Mercedes was that they were the last of the uncomplicated models built. This CLK has all the bells and whistles but it is not over designed with too many conflicting sensor signals and CAN bus errors that can create a lot of time in the shop. Most of the options are listed below or elsewhere in this listing. However, I want to mention a few of them that are a little unique or worthy of some explanation. The heated power front seats also have pneumatic controls and can be set to form fit almost any size or shape driver or passenger. There's a separate small monitor on the dash to check various statuses on the car. The Xenon HID headlights and fog lights really light up the road but there are also rear fog lights to help other drivers see you in adverse weather conditions. This coupe also comes with headlight washers, a power rear sunshade, and an SOS call button. I have included all of the manuals as well as two key FOBs and one valet key. Up for auction is my rare white 1978 Pontiac Le Mans coupe with a small block Chevy 350 engine and many performance modifications. Please note ALL modifications and maintenance were performed by professional certified mechanics/shops who specialize in classic GM restoration. Fun and unique car to drive! In good driving condition, could even be used as a daily driver if you choose to. Runs well! The LeMans was the sister car to the very popular Chevy Malibu. The late 70's/early 80's Malibu's are extremely popular for restoration as well as racing. I always liked the idea of having the lesser known (but equally capable) LeMans instead of the Malibu. It is considerably more rare than all the Malibu's of this generation. People are always telling me they never see these on the road anymore and that they love how I "muscularized" it. It is certainly most unique. The car is available to be picked up in New Jersey.
