Welcome to the vehicle that will ruin all other cars for you... ;) This car is an absolute blast to drive! I've personally owned everything from supercharged Vipers (850 HP) to AMG's and Jaguars, and turbo-charged beasts... This car tops them all for fun to drive factor. Balanced, mid-engine perfection. The engine revs so willingly, and sounds great while doing it. My words don't do it justice, it's just one of those things you must experience first hand. But if you don't mind me sharing, I can tell you that before buying this car, we had budgeted enough to purchase an Aston Martin, or Maserati. But after test driving this vehicle on a whim, we forgot all about the others. Why spend 125 - 135k on one of those, when this Porsche brought far more smiles to our faces, and looked every bit as good? Not many cars I can say that about. If you've driven one, you know what I'm trying to describe... Pictures just don't do this car justice. When you see it in person it looks far. far better, and more upscale than what pics show. Anyhow, back to the vehicle! What You Need To Know: This is a 2013 Boxster S Porsche Certified vehicle. This means that you get a 6 year warranty instead of just the factory. In other words, should anything go wrong you're covered. That's worth a lot. The Certification extended the warranty through July 2018. Don't get stuck with a non-warrantied vehicle. I've seen some Boxsters selling for cheaper out there, but with expired, or near expired warranties. Don't shoot yourself in the foot trying to save a few bucks, only to be left holding a bill later. Certification is WORTH IT. (Tried saving money on a Mercedes before, and later spent more in repairs than if I had just gotten the certified vehicle with warranty) Yes, these cars are solid and reliable. BUT, Murphys law my friends. Vehicle has 18,402 miles, and is loaded up with: PDK - I am a convert. Was a manual shifting snob until I drove this thing. Big an of PDK now. Porsche does it right Carrera Red leather interior PCM 3.0 (A must) Bose Surround Sound (Sounds awesome) 20 Inch wheels (Zero rash or curbing - Gets compliments everywhere I go) Porsche embossed head restGray contrast colored seat beltsHeated seats 14 function memory sport seatsMulti-Function steering wheel Auto-dimming mirrorsInfotainment package (Having the navigation map show up in 2 places is so freaking convenient. Love this feature!) Car was roughly 83k just 2 years ago. So heck of a deal for this Porsche Certified vehicle! I am a car nut, and as such, I cannot help but tend to the vehicle on a weekly basis. I'm the guy who was out in the garage rubbing down all the leather with leather cleaner, then following up with "leather food" cream and hand massaging it into the seats to keep everything bright, clean, and supple. Yes, this car was well cared for! I even clean the convertible top with horse hair brushes and special sealant spray to protect it from the elements. (Most convertible owners don't do this, and the tops fade and look like crap over time. I do the cleaning every 60 days for the top as recommended, and the leather is done every two weeks.) Wheels are in perfect condition and have the Porsche logo center caps. No curbing, or scratches period. What It's Like To Own: Ok, so if you're looking at this car, you probably already know quite a bit about it. However, I'm going to do my best to list the pro's and cons so you can see what ownership will be like when you buy it. (Hint, hint!) Let's start simple with a pro's and cons list. Fair enough? Pro: - Car loves to be driven. It feels so "right" you constantly look for excuses to drive more, and/or take the long way home - Car gets attention. I like this as I meet some pretty cool people this way as they engage in conversation I suppose this could be a con if you're a very private person who hates attention. But if you're looking at buying a Porsche, I doubt that's the case. Sure you're not going to get Lamborghini levels of attention. But people do double takes, ask what it is, take pics from time to time, and want to talk cars. That's been my experience, and maybe it makes me shallow, but I enjoy the attention. It's not over-done. Just enough to make you feel a little special. Haha - Handling. NOTHING I've driven feels like this car on a windy road. I've owned dozens of vehicles, and driven some pretty expensive hardware (LP640, Gallardo LP560, Ferrari 458, etc) And for "fun to throw into the corners" factor, this beats them all. It's that combo of precise steering, fast turn in, lighter weight, and mid-engine. Spirited driving is so much more rewarding in this car. Builds confidence and just sticks to the road. You walk away feeling like you're a better driver than you might really be. lol - Balance of sport/luxury/usability - A sports car is always a compromise when it comes to utility. But this thing had such a pleasant balance that it would easily be a daily driver. I work from home, so don't drive daily. But for 6 months this was my only vehicle, and outside of needing to bring home plywood from Lowes, this car handled all my needs. The fact that it has two storage spaces instead of just one came in so handy. Fits a lot more than you'd think! Still no SUV or wagon of course, but far better than my last 3 sports cars! - Sound system - The sound system in this thing is so crystal clear, I still pick up on things in songs I've never heard before. The surround system sounds amazing, and fills the cabin easily. Even with the top down. - Convertible - I know this is a great big "duh" - Of course! Funny thing is my wife was hesitant at first, telling me she didn't care too much for the idea of a convertible. But by the end of week #1 she was a convert! She wants the top down, and actually asks if we can go for a cruise on a nice day! It's intoxicating, and helps forget all the stresses. Just rolling down a windy road on a nice day with the top down, and some AC/DC on the stereo. That's been my therapy. haha Oh, and as an added bonus, with the heater on and the deflector, I was able to cruise around in rather cool temperatures with the top down. Felt perfectly fine cruising around when others had their windows up and heaters going. Try it and you'll see what I mean. It's quite entertaining actually... :) - Interior - I've gotten so many ooohs and ahhhs over this red leather. It just looks and feels "right" especially as a contrast to the metallic silver exterior. it's such an enjoyable place to spend time. The seats fit like a glove and hold you in place. Now I know feel is subjective of course. I'm 5'11 and about 185 pounds and my wife is 5'5. We both feel it sits just right, so take that for what it's worth. My guess is if you're anywhere in that height range you'll enjoy the fit and feel as well. If you're 7 feet tall? Not so much... HISTORY: This car has been rock solid reliable for me. The only trouble we had was the stereo system went on the glich. The system wouldn't stop showing that it was loading a cd on the display. So we brought it in to Porsche. It was a warranty fix of course, so no charge. They removed the old unit and replaced with a brand new stereo/Nav system. While at Porsche though, one of the techs accidentally pierced the convertible top fabric with a cutting tool. We found this when we got home, so we went back, and they offered to replace the entire top free of charge since it was their mistake. Boom... Brand new convertible top (This was just 4 months ago) and brand new stereo unit. How cool is that? Love the vehicle, and very, very sad to see it go. However, we're just getting started buying a plat of land and custom building, so I need to free up as much cash as I can as you know building a home often ends up costing far more than the builders/contractors quote. (Yay...) So forced to sell for now, but once we're in the new house, I have already committed to myself I'll be grabbing another Boxster. My experience has left an impression on me, and I must have another when I can. haha Simply nothing else like it in this price range. The silver exterior is absolutely striking when paired with the red convertible top. I get asked at least a few times each month "Is that some kind of Ferrari?" It looks exotic, and people automatically associate it with something very, very expensive. The side air vents probably have something to do with it too - Just gives it more of that exotic appeal. Thumbs up, waves, from young and old alike. So in closing, I think you'll love this car. It's a great deal, you're protected with the extended warranty/Porsche certification, and I've been nutty in my diligence to care for this car. Good combo right? Send me a message if you have questions. 314-583-5190 if you want to chat direct. Update: Certified Warranty lasts till July 2, 2018 or 100,000 miles.
