1996 Chevy Diesel Suburban K2500 4WD, 220,000 miles, Pampered pet that has enjoyed blank check maintenance, has the desirable and fuel efficient 6.5 Turbo Diesel engine, 4.10 gearing with the 4LE80 overdrive transmission, manual transfer case and the highly desirable "F" model engine, recent upgrades include late model wheel and tire package, duramax fan, remote OPS, injection pump, remote PMD, upgraded transmission cooler lines, a/c compressor, performance exhaust, Bilstein shocks, new fuel tank pump and sending unit, front end rebuilt with new parts including pitman arm, has running bars and brake controller, no rust, 9 passenger with unique front bench/ bucket style seat with fold down center armrest. This vehicle has been used by us primarily for towing transportation to and from our Maine lake cabin every year (1,500 miles each way) and reliability is paramount. It has government history and there is no evidence of any accidents. 20 mpg not towing on the highway even with the towing gearing. These vehicles have a cult-like following and there is a lot of aftermarket support. The 6.5 /6.2 is used in the HumVees so parts are readily available. This is an early generation Diesel and while it does not have Duramax power but parts are a fraction of the cost of the newer diesels. There is no mistaking this is a Diesel between the engine noise and turbo whine with the free flowing exhaust. Very- very reliable over the 26,000+ miles I have owned. Negatatives: paint on roof weak and was showing some primer but has been touched up with aerosol color matched paint. Interior shows a little wear on outside edge of drivers seat.
