1968 CHEVY NOVA SS 396 SLEEPER EMBALMERS CAR CLUB BUILD 2017 We the Embalmers Car Club build one classic car per year. This year we BUILDT a frame off restoration of a 1968 Chevy Nova. NOVA INFO: The motor is a 1970 Chevy Big Block 396 30 over casting number 3969854 HI PER PASS. 4 Bolt Main. The transmission is a 4 speed Casting # 13-04-065-904 BORG WARNER rebuilt and new gear oil. The rear is a big 10 Bolt with a POSSI Rear with 373 Gears. The Nova has all newBody mounts. New Shocks and Springs. New E Brake lines. New brake lines. All of the bolts of the Nova have been cleared. The Carb is a 650 DP HOLY. The Int is all brand new. New 15 Inch Rims and new 15 Inch red line tires. The floors are sanded and restored to GM Stain Black. The motor compartment is all restored to a GM STAIN BLACK. The motor was buildt. Many new parts on used on the motor and thru out the car during the build. We Have many photos of the restoration. The Nova has P/S P/B FRONT DISC REAR DRUMS. The brake pads are all new. In 1971 only 7015 Nova SS models were built . 3950 of those were 4 speeds . The amount of Placer Gold Nova SS models were 1700 . How many of those had 4 speeds with these options ? So yes this is a rare car . If someone has the exact number please let me know. This Nova is a Southern U.S. Original car with a Kentucky title . It has been repainted in 2011 and the paint is gorgeous with a deep luster and very smooth. It does have a few minor imperfections but nothing that needs to be addressed. The interior is original and is very clean and well kept with all working gauges and lights. The original AM radio is present but does not play. This in dash Tachometer works and is a rare option . All the console gauges (Fuel , Temp , oil press , Battery ) are functional . All the original seatbelts as well as shoulder harness are present as well as the console seatbelt holder . Rugs are clean and Nova SS Carpet mats are present . All glass is clean and original and the windshield has the antenna option. The engine compartment is detailed as well as the trunk compartment. Drive train is all original with correct numbers on engine and transmission. (See pictures of engine numbers.) The engine is believed to have been rebuilt and enhanced when car was repainted and it runs strong and smooth with no internal noises or issues . It has headers and flow master mufflers with a like new exhaust system in original correct style . The original Quadra-jet carburetor is intact but the original intake has been replaces with an Edelbrock performance intake . The original intake comes with the car . The original 4 speed Muncie P code transmission is in great condition and shifts smooth and direct. The rear axle ratio is 3:42 with the original 12 bolt rear. The clutch is smooth and strong.
