Selling my 1978 Chevrolet Malibu Landau 2 Door. I got this car from California earlier this year where it has been its entire life until now. All original car. It looks the same way it did when granny stopped driving it back and forth to church! Original 51,113 Miles on the car! Original numbers matching 305 5.0L and automatic transmission. Very nice driving car. Runs a drives great! Transmission shifts out smooth. it has a small leak on the passenger valve cover gasket i haven't gotten around to fixing yet but that's a easy fix for the next owner. I had plans to repaint the car and show it but haven't had time to do it and i'd like to work on another project i have before it. It's truly stunning how well this car has been taken care of. The interior looks almost new. All the power options work such as the power bench seat, power windows work excellent, power locks, air conditioner blows somewhat cold but could use a recharge. Power rear window defogger and it even has the optional Gauge package. This car has no rust anywhere on it other than the light surface rust from the clear coat peeling on the hood. Frame, floors, quarters, fenders, rockers, all rock solid. These cars are getting harder and harder to find especially in this condition. Please ask any questions you may have. 1979 Malibu Classic Landau The story that I got when I bought it is that it sat under the elderly original owner's carport for many years until their son inherited it. It seems clean enough to fit that story, unmolested until I got it, even has the original AM/FM radio that works. I have no idea if the mileage is original or if it's rolled once, but it is clean enough to be original. it has a service sticker on the spacesaver spare from 1991, and that shows 52,000 miles. Originally a 305 car, I bought it, installed the rebuilt GN rear that I had left from another G body (hardly any miles on it), and then shortly after the .040 over 400 SBC. Not sure of the HP, but it's a lot. One of the faster cars that I have owned. Not perfect by any means, but very, very clean. Basically an extremely nice Malibu with a $6500 engine, $2000 rear end, and $1000 transmission. I just installed $650 worth of new Quick Fuel Slayer 750 vacuum secondary, Holley 110 GPH mechanical fuel pump, and braided line from pump to carb. The A/C worked fine before I did the swap, but it needs an aftermarket bracket on the side to clear the header, a belt, and to be recharged. It was repainted before I bought it, a very good paint job, but not show quality. It does have bubbling under the vinyl half top on the sides and the top. I've had it about 2 years, and it hasn't progressed any further. I suspect that the top may have been glued on over primer after it was primed, and that area not painted. This 79 Malibu is Candy Blue with many modifications to the original body, chassis, and drive train. Overall, the car is in very good condition and is mechanically sound. The hood is one of Hardwoods lift off series hoods and the interior has been completely reengineered with a fiberglass dash from a Camaro with Autometer gages. two new bucket seats up front and a reupholstered rear bench. carpet and headliner are bright blue. The engine is a 335 stroker with Edelbrock Pro Flow fuel injection, flat top pistons upgraded 305 torque heads with a Comp .462/.469 cam. The transmission is a Accurate remanufactured trans with a manual valve body kit installed w/ 2500 stall converter linked to a 10 bolt posi 342 rear-end. This car screams on a set of American racing 10 X 7 265 x 50 rear wheels. Steering has been upgraded with all Moog front end parts and a Ididit tilt steering column.

This is a good looking straight car, the paint still looks good after 20 years. A little back story on the car, it belonged to a good friend of mine, he had purchased the car over 20 years ago, it started out with a nasty sbc, he then decided to get a bit wilder and went to a high compression BBC, he spent all kinds of money getting the car how he wanted it, it was his play toy, he probably drove it a couple hundred miles a year. Ten years or so ago he moved to Palm Bay Fl, the car just sat in the garage, and 2 times a year he would take the car to a car show. Needless the say it sat a lot. So, he decided to sell it for something more street friendly, I had a nice Camaro, so we did a trade. I had the car for the last two years, it was too much motor to cruise around in, I tried, but the dominator didn't like it, and my wallet didn't like putting race fuel in it at $10 plus dollars a gallon. Which brings it to its current state, I pulled the high compression BBC, put in an early 70010 sbc , 30 over, forged flat tops, with an iron set of angled plug World Products heads, a nice little 292 510, cam, some roller rockers, performer intake, 650 double pumper, its got a Th350, a little shift kit , and a 3500 stall. So the car is now very drivable , sounds aggressive , runs on 93 all day no problems. The brakes are Wilwood heavy duty up front, rears are aluminum drums, The rear is still the 12 bolt 4:10 , aluminum girdle, spooled, 32 spline Strange axles, the rear frame rails have been sectioned and boxed for large tire clearance. Its got a Barry Grant pump, 13 gallon fuel cell. The interior is in really good shape, the seats, door panels and headliner are all custom, the dash is excellent, it has a cage still, with swing outs, it can be removed with a little effort and skill, I do have a nice set of Comp Cams Valve covers that are new, which I will put on if you prefer , also not picture an air breather I will consider partial trades, no junk, no projects do not make an offer if you are unsure of something, feel free to call, I will return your call asap if I don't answer. 352 494 6913 the car is titled in my name
