NO RESERVE!!1960 Chevrolet Impala Chop-Top CustomI am selling my 1960 Chevrolet Impala Hard top (not convertible) Chop-Top Custom street car! We @ P&H Motors purchased the car after it had suffered fire damage under the hood. The the best we could work out ; it seems whoever originally ran the wires, crossed the throttle linkage which caused the wires to spark fuel from the carburetor and burn the carburetor and distributor. Because of this previous damage the Impala is being sold with a PA salvage Certificate. We at P&H ran new wires to the motor, put a new Holley carburetor on, new starter, new spark plug wires and a new distributor. The Impala now starts/runs/drives and just needs to be finished back to 100% !! It is currently wired to run but will need a new harness under the dash to run accessories and gauges. All of the harnesses could be purchased from painless wiring company. It will need a new windshield installed however it is a factory piece of Impala glass just lowered into the cowl of the car and than tilted back to line up with the chopped top. We have also primered the painted areas damaged by the fire on the hood and fire wall. The Impala has a 327 small block w/ a turbo 350 Automatic transmission. While driving it around the block, it seems the Turbo 350 also has a shift kit installed! Everywhere I drove this car i was stopped by people to take pictures or talk about it! Just a cool looking, fun car to have and drive. The car has received a frame off restoration at one point in time, where every single component was either painted, powder coated or replaced with stainless hardware. It has a front disc conversion with Wilwood proportioning valve, and sway bars! The interior is also completely custom with nicely upholstered newer styled bucket seats, center console with power window/trunk switches and door poppers, factory style gauge cluster/dash and custom upholstered trim paneling and trunk compartment! We could not get the door poppers to function on demand but will pop the doors every once in a while. It's currently rigged to a wire to release the door latch. This car has received a ton of custom touches already and just needs a little bit of TLC to make it back to the showstopper ones with us!The car is located in Hatboro, PA 19040 if anyone is interested in seeing/driving the vehicle before making an offer. It's a great car, and in very good condition. I have 8 cars, and my wife says its time to thin the herd a bit! I am going to paste the exact ad of the seller I bought it from. Some comments I'd make: 1 I have a clear, no liens, PA title in hand 2 Car starts every time, runs great, and shifts well. Seem mechanically very sound 3 No visible rust, I don't see any weak spots. Great car! _____________ This Willow Green 1966 Impala 2-door sport coupe has a wicked cool story attached to it. The previous owner purchased this Impala from the original owner in 1985 when he was only 15 years old. He is now 45 and has owned the car for the past 30 years. From the beginning, his intention was to keep the Impala and drive it to his 25th year class reunion. He rarely drove the Impala and kept it in a storage unit. His reunion came and went and he never did take it to his reunion. He decided to clean up the undercarriage and rebuild the complete front end converting the car to front disc brakes. He added new shocks all around and mounted 15” Corvette rally wheels on the car. He was told that the Impala was originally a 327ci car and a 3933180 327ci is what is currently in the car. The block is a 1968-69 327 CE (Counter Exchange) block with 2-bolt main caps. Currently, it has a 1966-67 283/195 3877652 intake topped with a 7024110 1965-66 Rochester 2BBL carburetor. The casting numbers on the exhaust manifolds are not legible. The transmission appears to be the original 1966 2-speed Powerglide based on the 3863192 extension housing and the rear axle also appears to be the original Code DB 1966 3:36.1 10-bolt. The body panels appear to be all original with the exception of the passenger’s side rear quarter which was replaced at some point in the life of the car. The undercarriage was cleaned up by the previous owner and sprayed lightly with a black paint. The undercarriage is very clean, with the exception of dirt from moving the car during wet/muddy weather, and appears to be completely rust free. A good power wash would clean the undercarriage up considerably. The interior was redone, as well, with what appears to be non-original material but is in good condition. There are no rips in the headliner or the dash and the door panels are in good condition. I neglected to mention in the video that the Impala also has the correct 6,000 RPM in-dash tachometer that is not currently working. The speedometer, horn, blinkers and headlights all work. The heater blower, rear running lights, brake lights and fuel gauge do not work. There is no radio but the radio opening has not been cut up and these radios are readily available on eBay. The rear view mirror is cracked. Also, there is a vertical crack in the passenger’s side of the windshield which will have to be addressed by the new owner. As an FYI, in the video there was a little engine noise that appears to me to be coming from a small exhaust manifold leak on the passenger’s side. The engine compartment is rust free but the engine itself could be detailed/painted by the next owner. The small block radiator has been swapped out for a big block radiator and the original shroud is in the trunk. The hood is also rust free. The trunk is rust free with what appears to be a small patch completed at some point in the past. There is no spare or jack assembly. The current owner had a front end alignment performed as well as adjusting the hood, installing a new battery and tuning up the engine. In today’s world of block re-stamping and fake documentation, I have found that most buyers are more interested in the condition of the body and that the car is rust/rot free. This Impala fits that bill. It is definitely a V8 Impala based on the number 64 in the VIN and a person could easily add a 4bbl intake and 4bbl carb to and have a great cruiser. The car starts, handles and drives great with power steering and front disc brakes. I am an individual and do not claim to know everything there is to know about these cars.
