This LS6 is documented with its original buildsheet and copy of the original title in which Truppi and Kling signed off on along with many vintage pictures and articles. The car was tracked down and bought by Ray Allen himself and after being restored Ray sold the car in 2006 for a record $1.2 million. Since that time the car has been made even more correct with all hand painted lettering, correct vintage gauges, shifter and correct bolt on performance parts under the hood etc.. The car was known as the "KILLER CAR" and went undefeated during the 1970 race season and ultimately won the NHRA World Finals in 1970 and Super nationals along with many other highly notable races. It was also one of the first drag cars to ever be shown on network television during ABC's Wide World of Sports race coverage. The car broke and held many national records infact the “Killer Car” ended Chrysler's domination of NHRA's Super Stock classes at the peak of the musclecar era. Original Fathom Blue with White Stripes, Black bucket seat interior with column shift (now has the as raced Hurst Auto Stick on floor), Factory Radio Delete, Cowl Induction, 12 bolt posi, HD suspension & Front power disc brakes, Ordered as a bare bones stripped down car with the biggest engine possible, obviously the original drivetrain is long gone but it was restored using all correct date components and correct style race components. Car shows very well and car easily be street driven with the addition of exhaust if desired. In my opinion there is not a better Chevelle in the world to own. It is an Ultra Rare LS6 Convertible which in itself is extremely desirable and hard to find and its also one of the most significant Super Stock Drag cars of all time it is a true piece of Chevrolet History, Muscle Car History and Drag Racing History. A true piece of Americana! Everyone knows there are way more LS6 Convertibles floating around now then Chevrolet ever produced. Sure you can go out an buy a sketchy LS6 Convertible at auction that just appeared out of the clear blue sky that no one knows about for $250k and lose your butt or make excuses when you sell it or you can pony up and buy a good one. I think you can count the good legit LS6 Convertible's out there on the fingers of your 2 hands that's why they command a premium when ever they come up for sale. This car has history since new there is no doubt what this car was ordered new as, has its buildsheet, signed copy of back of original title from Truppi and Kling, Restored by the man who raced the car new and lots of vintage pictures and articles. It doesn't get much better. There will always be a demand for low production high horse power significant cars.. with this car I don't think it gets any better for a Chevrolet how many cars can say they went undefeated in 1970 at the PEAK of the muscle car wars?
