1966 Chevrolet Chevelle up for grabs!!!! My father and I purchased the vehicle as a graduation gift. The car is originally a 283 Malibu, but we restored everything just short of taking the body off of the frame, and made it our goal to create an Super Sport clone. The trunk pan and floor pans were sealed and painted to prevent rust. The interior of the car received a new carpet, new headliner, new sail panels, new door panels, new seat covers, and a new dash pad. The new items match the original design of the car, and all available emblems and truly original to the car. The exterior was striped to bare metal and then painted with primer, Rally Red paint (1966 stock color), and clear coat to preserve showroom quality. Again, all available emblems were returned to the car. The original hood was replaced with an SS hood, with louvers to draw even more attention. Finally, the original 283 engine was removed and eventually replaced with a 396 block that has been bored out to a 402. The 402 was built from the block up, with attention paid to the four barrel carb, manifold, heads, and headers that lead to dual exhaust. The car has plenty of horse power and gets alot of attention with a low rumble that only a muscle car can achieve. I still have the original hood and 283 engine that I'll sell to the winning bidder, if you're interested. I've really enjoyed my time with this car, but over the past few years, I've started a family and new career. I just don't have time to show the car off anymore, and I hate to see it just sitting in my garage. I'm hoping that this ad finds somebody with a true appreciation of classic muscle. The car deserves to be out on the road every weekend, driven to local cruise-ins, where it can steal all of the attention. Reserve price is set at $18,000.
