1967 MARINA BLUE CHEVELLE SS396 CONVERTIBLE RARE - VERY FEW 1966 / 1967 CHEVELLE SS396 CONVERTIBLES WERE BUILT Super Sport 396 MUSCLE - REAL 138 VIN - NOT a Clone or Tribute (As you read, add up the new Black interior seats, carpet, door panels & White convertible top valued at $3,000, new in boxes, that can be included with Buy-It-Now purchase. Change the interior on this amazing Chevelle Super Sport Convertible, it's up to you.) Here is a little more information on my 1967 SS396 Convertible: Originally built in Kansas City, and frame-off restored a little over 15 years ago, this real 1967 Chevelle SS396 has been well cared for and entered in numerous car shows since it's restoration. Showing what looks to be only one older repaint in original Marina Blue, by all reports from the prior owner and prior seller, it was rarely driven. Body panels all sound solid and look free of any rust. When i had some suspension components replaced and upgraded, they looked barely used. Before the upgrades, all parts on the car appeared to be original or NOS. The TH400 automatic transmission removed was believed to be original and goes with sale. Engine bay and underside are immaculate, with dabs & markings. Even correct 1960s T-3 headlights! Engine is NOM (but was rebuilt with a period-correct 1965 block). Estimated 350HP, with roller rockers under the stock valve covers and Headman ceramic-coated headers - runs very strong. Also has MSD ignition & distributor and Griffin 'old-style' aluminum radiator - painted black. Under 300 miles since recent upgrades of over $10,000 in parts & labor. This real SS396 could easily become a Pro-Touring car with 17"or 18" wheels:New Headman Ceramic-coated HeadersComp Cams Roller-rockersMSD DistributorMSD 6AL IgnitionGriffin 'Old-Style' Aluminum RadiatorStainless Steel Exhaust systemKA-1 front Coil-over shocksNew rear shocks & HD springsChrome Cragar Mag wheels (15x7 & 15x8)New high-amp alternator300 Watt AM/FM/MP3 'Chevrolet' Stereo w/upgraded center dash speaker17"/18" REV 107 Rally Wheels (not included) would make this a cool Pro-Touring car - example in last photo.Transmission was changed from automatic to a date-code-correct 1967 M20 wide-ratio 4-spd (original automatic goes with car). Original 3.31 posi 12-bolt rear end. The wide-ratio 4-spd has a lower 1st gear than the M22, but 4th gear is higher for top end on the highway, so it is a perfect match to the original 3.31 rear gear - the car is fast!! Highly-desirable factory option features:New professionally rebuilt M20 4-spd w/new clutch (original TH400 automatic goes w/sale)Power front Disc BrakesPower Steering'Blinker' 7000 RPM TachometerRally gauge package'D96 option' White SS side stripesCenter consoleThe car is extremely nice. I have already purchased new parts and had plans to replace top and update the interior to match the trim tag code, but I've decided I really don't have the time anymore, and I'd rather just sell it now - my loss I guess, as that would make it a $75,000 show car. Trim tag is Marina Blue with White top and Black interior. Interior is currently Light Blue. (Additionally, new White top and complete new Black interior kit from Legendary worth over $3,000 also go with Buy-It-Now sale of the car.) Runs and drives excellent. This car is being sold as-is, and is also for sale elsewhere. (Similar to Pontiac GTO, Plymouth Roadrunner, GTX, Dodge Coronet, Charger.)
