Up for sale is a beautiful 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Convertible. This is a true "138" code SS convertible with numbers matching 396/4-Speed. It was meticulously restored by the previous owner who unfortunately passed away. I am the third owner of this car since new. The Marina blue color with blue interior and black top was the factory color combination. The motor was rebuilt and dyno-tuned at 406hp. Car is non-power steering, and non-power/drum brake equipped. Paint and body show beautifully. the car currently has centerline wheels, but original paint-matched Rally wheels included. Overall very nice car. Tons of documentation included, including original window sticker, bill of sale, and original Protect-O-Plate! Over $50,000 in receipts and invoices for restoration work done. Professional appraisal included as well. Any questions feel free to ask or call: (262) 993-1206. 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS3 38,000 Original Mile Survivor 100% Authentic Chevelle SS Big Block 4-Speed with Factory A/C95% Original Paint, Interior, Engine Bay, and Underbody This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a true, investment grade collector car! This rare and original car was built the first week of January at the Arlington, Texas assembly plant exactly as you see it. Factory ordered with the optional LS3 402 Big Block, M20 4-Speed Transmission, 26-26 Mulsanne Blue paint, D88 Sport Stripes, and working Ice Cold Factory A/C! After leaving the Arlington assembly plant, this car was shipped to Charles West Chevrolet Inc. located in Maryville, Tennessee were it was then sold new to its first lady owner. This car has lived less than two hours from where it was sold new in Tennessee for over 40 years. Only having 38,000 original miles, this car has been cared for its entire life and is in outstanding, survivor quality, original condition! The car even has the original window sticker, dealer check-in sheet, owner’s manual, and packet from "Charles West Chevrolet Inc." confirming that this car is a true, LS3 4-Speed Chevelle SS. For sale to the public for the first time since the car was sold new. Do not miss your chance to own an original piece of American Muscle Car History! The exterior of this car is in EXCELLENT condition! The paint is 95% original, and shines nearly as the day it rolled out of the showroom at Charles West Chevrolet. The Antique White Stripes are original to the car and have not been repainted. We have received numerous questions as to why the stripes have squared edges. After researching and confirming with multiple "Chevelle" experts, the squared edges are correct and original to this car. The soft trim and bright work throughout the entire car is also in excellent condition, and complements the factory code 26-26 Mulsanne Blue paint nicely. Ordered with the rare and desirable Z15 SS equipment package, this Chevelle looks absolutely perfect! The wheels and center caps are original to the car, and have never been painted or touched up. The Firestone Wide Oval tires were believed to be installed around 1992, and are like new without any damage or weather cracking. All the glass, headlights, badges, and tail light lenses are also original to the car, and are in excellent condition as well. The original Charles West Chevrolet advertisement sticker is still on the deck lid even, and adds a nice touch of originality and authenticity to the car. When you open the doors, you are introduced to the completely original code 706 black vinyl interior. The interior of this Chevelle is in OUTSTANDING condition! There are no rips, tears, or stains anywhere inside this car! The seats, door panels, armrests, rear seat side panels, headliner, sail panels, floor mats, etc are all original to the car, and are in EXCELLENT condition. Between the optional factory Strato-Bucket seats, the beautiful center console shows off the original MUNCIE shifter that shifts as good as it looks, and the factory reverse lock-out works exactly as it should. The original SS Dash & Gauges are in great condition, without any cracks, fading, or damage. The soft trim & vinyl pieces are still soft and undamaged, tying together a spotless cabin inside. Even the door-buzzer works! We removed the bottom of the rear seat when we were detailing the interior, and I truly believe that it was the first time it has ever been out of the car. Stuck to the bottom of the rear seat springs, there is a hand written note with a part of this cars vin number and its option & interior trim codes. It is believed that it was written when the car was on the assembly line by a factory worker taking notes on how the car was being built according to the build sheet. This car was ordered and built with the optional "NK4" Sport Steering Wheel and "UM2" AM/FM Push Button Radio & 8-Track Player! The radio alone cost $372.85 back when this car was built, and it is believed that only 3,923 GM vehicles were ordered with the "UM2" radio for the 1971 production year. Beneath the deck lid, this Chevelle still retains its original General Spare Tire, SS Wheel, and Jack that appear to have never been used. The original Jacking Instruction Sticker, Trim Ring Installation Card, spatter paint, dual rear speaker covers, trunk mat and weather strip are also in EXCELLENT condition making the trunk area look like new. There is even a "warranty" sticker from JC Penny dated 5/2/72 from when the original owner replaced the original tires with a set of G60-15's. Under the hood, you are introduced to the number's matching LS3 402 Big Block engine. Out of all the cars that were built in the Chevrolet Division Line back in 1971, a mere 4% were born with the bulletproof LS3 Big Block. Everything is exactly as when the car left the factory, including the manifold heat riser & tubing, evap canister & lines, working A/C, etc. Other than a few maintenance items that have been replaced including the spark plugs& wires, air filter, fuel filter, upper & lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, alternator belt, and the battery. All the paint, decals, tags, and markings are original and look OUTSTANDING for a 43 year old car. The cowl area and the original trim tag are in great condition as well, and have never been damaged or tampered with in any way. The Underbody of this Chevelle is as original as the rest of the car! Retaining its factory GM spiral shocks, F41 performance front & rear suspension, boxed lower control arms, larger diameter sway bars, number's matching M20 4-Speed Transmission, and its number's matching 3:31 rear end. The dealer installed undercoating shows very well, and has done a great job preserving the originality of the entire underbody. A while back, the mufflers and tail pipes were replaced, and the factory tips were reinstalled. The front exhaust pipes from the manifolds to the mufflers are still original, and are in good condition. The car still shows many of its original tags and markings on the rear end, shocks, springs, driveshaft, front end, steering components, etc. There is absolutely no sign of damage anywhere underneath this Chevelle. The floor pans, trunk pan, frame, inner wheel wells, etc are all original and in EXCELLENT condition! This 1971 Chevelle SS is likely to be the only one produced with the SS Equipment Package, LS3 engine, M20 Transmission, A/C, Strato-Bucket Seats, Center Console, Gauges, Sport Steering Wheel, AM/FM Push Button Radio & 8 Track Player, and Sport Stripes. Being dressed in the highly desirable and sought after Mulsanne Blue Paint, Antique White Sport Stripes, and Black Interior with a console and bucket seats, this car is arguably one of the BEST looking 71 Chevelle's ever built. Bring all that together and add it into this 38,000 original mile, 95% original, Numbers Matching LS3 Chevelle easily makes this car one of the absolute BEST you could order back in 1971, and leaves this car to possibly be one of the GREATEST Survivor Quality Chevelle's on the Planet! This car is NO JOKE! It is absolutely NOT a hacked up, incorrect "frame off restored" survivor car like many of the "survivor quality" Chevelle's for sale today. This car is a documented, untouched, unmolested, original and true LS3 Chevelle SS that can be argued as one of the nicest and most original 71 Chevelle's left in existence! Over the last month, we have carefully detailed and inspected practically everything on this car, preserving the originality of every piece. During this time, we rebuilt the original master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders, cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes, installed new front brake pads, replaced the spark plugs, wires, cleaned the believed to be original AC Delco cap and rotor, cleaned & adjusted points, timing & dwell. During this time, we also changed the engine oil and filter, transmission fluid, rear differential fluid, air filter, fuel filter and performed a 46 point safety inspection to ensure this car is ready to hit the road. Every item is in working order throughout the car, including the interior lights, door buzzer, reverse lock-out, horn, radio, 8-track player, exterior lights, etc. The car runs, drives, shifts, and stops without any unusual shakes, rattles, vibrations, or wind noise, as you would expect from a 38,000 original mile Collector Car. In todays world, you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful & original, desirably optioned, documented LS3 Super Sport Chevelle. With that in mind, these rare classic muscle cars are only original once and will continue to rise in value, rarity and desirability! This beautiful Big Block Super Sport is ready to go anywhere, and will look stunning in the process! Be the envy of any car show, cruise-in, or stop light with this low mile, investment grade, survivor 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS3 4-Speed! 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS This is a California car that started life in California, went north to Washington, south to Texas and in 1982 was brought from Texas to Wisconsin. This is a true 138 vin SS car. The car was stripped down to bare metal, minor work around the rear wheel lips, and repainted its original madeira maroon color in DuPont Base Coat/Clear Coat this year. The interior has been redone with new sound deadening (under the carpet and headliner), new headliner, new carpet, new door panels, new seat foam and seat covers. The seats are the originals that have been redone with all new TMI seat foam and seat covers, the front seats are now bolstered and look/feel excellent. The car does not retain its original 327 or powerglide (they were pulled out in 1982 by the owner who brought the car from TX to WI) but does still have its 12 bolt rear differential. The Chevelle is currently powered by a 307 small block chevy, edelbrock 4 barrel 600cfm carb, HEI distributor, and a turbo 350 automatic transmission. Original power assist drum brakes and power steering make this Chevelle an excellent cruiser. Last photo in pictures is the car before it was redone. Car is for sale locally. Prefer local sale, will consider shipping at buyers expense. If you require the car to be shipped, I would like to sort out details of transportation for the car beforehand. Otherwise if there is no communication prior to, I will either cancel the bid or arrange for a local sale. Thank you for your understanding. Serious inquires only: 608-698-6767 (No text messages)
