This is a 1971 Chevelle Malibu. bench seat, column shift car. It has been in Arizona all its life. It belonged to a friend of mine who parked it out in the back 18 years ago because the brakes quit working. I have been trying to buy it from him for years and he finally let loose of it a year ago. I have fixed a few things to get it running and driving. The 307 V8 runs good and has a recent tune up and oil change. The carb runs but needs rebuilt and I have a rebuild kit for it. The transmission was replaced with a rebuilt unit (see pictures). The Radiator was replaced with a new three row aluminum one. The water pump, thermostat, hoses, and belts are new. Tires are new 70 series on factory rally wheels. The car needs a new windshield. The air conditioning is all there but needs service. Brakes work fine front brakes are new disc brake conversion from Stainless Steel Brake Corp not cheap copies from china, New battery, New battery cables, lights work fine, power steering works well and goes down the road straight. No major wrecks or frame damage. The left front fender was replaced because of a dent, hood hinges. were bent and replaced. The plastic inner fenders were replaced due to cracks. Mileage is 101420 but odometer shows 01420 because it has turned over once. With a little more work this could be a very valuable car. Solid Arizona car for the last 15 years. So it was pretty solid to start with. I did replace the door skins, fenders and header panel because they needed too much work to be straight. I have pictures showing metal work and restoration. The body was removed so the underside could be stripped and the firewall smoothed. Then the whole underside and firewall were painted satin black. The frame and suspension pieces were powder coated satin black. Engine: 454 block machined and bored .030". New pistons and a steel 427 crank were installed. Along with resized rods, new bearings, new oil pump and timing chain. The cyclinder heads are cast iron 049 oval port open chamber that are polished and ported with oversized valves and new springs. Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake with Biggs 830 cfm dbl. pumper carb.,Comp Cams Hydraulic cam and Magnum roller tipped rockers,MSD billet distributor and 6AL box. Exhaust: Hooker Super Comp ceramic coated headers and a Flowmaster American Thunder system. Drivetrain: Muncie wide Ratio 4 speed with a Keisler hydraulic throw out bearing. The rear axle is a rebuilt 12 bolt posi with 3:35 gears. Suspension:Global West lower rear and adjustable upper rear control arms, Hotchkis front coil springs, CPP rear coil springs, SC&C adjustable front upper control arms, Detroit Speed adjustable rear sway bar & Bilstein shocks. Wheels & Tires: US Mag 2 piece 18" wheels with Nitto Rubber. Brakes: Baer 13" rotors with two piston calipers on front and 12" rotors with single piston on rear.
